St. James Park
The park has a small lake, St. James's
Park Lake, with two islands, West Island, and Duck Island, which is named for the lake's
collection of aquatic birds.
What to see and do in the park:
Pelicans
The first pelicans were given by a Russian ambassador in 1684. Living near Duck Island are
the Park's famous resident Pelicans. Regular visitors can see the Pelicans basking on their
favourite rocks and getting fed fresh fish at 2:30pm every day. There are currently five
Pelicans in the Park.
