Heartless

behind the table. "I wasn't lucky today, Grandpa," whispered the child and her light blue eyes filled with tears as she talked. The man smoked soundlessly, not even glancing at the girl. "But I'll go again, tomorrow, and bring you twice the money! I promise! So don't punish me, okay?" The man stood up and walked slowly towards the girl. "I promised your mother to take care of you, yet, if you are useless in even collecting money from the rich, I can't help you! This is the end, Heartless! Go to the dorms, pack your things and leave my orphanage at once! You are no longer welcome here!" Heartless tried to protest, but the man hit her, so there she was now lying helplessly on the floor. Suddenly, someone else knocked on the door and two other girls and an older boy came in. They saw Heartless, yet knew that they had no allowance to help her. The man asked them what had they brought and after taking all the money

He hides it to a room and locks the door. Dorian's morals perish with each next day. He goes to poor and filthy places in London, has very destructive influence on his friends and doesn't value anything. When Basil tries to help him, Dorian loses his temper and kills Basil. Dorian Gray

In the beginning Dorian was a young undamaged simple boy and I think that Basil was right to have the wish to prevent Dorian meeting Harry. When Dorian hears the ideas that Harry has for life of pleasure, beauty and youth, he adopts them immediately. As he sees his portrait, Dorian becomes aware of his beauty and says the fateful wish that if only he could remain young and the portrait would become old. The first sign that his wish had become true is seen when Dorian is very heartless and rude to Sibyl Vane, an actress to whom he wanted to marry. When young Dorian discovers that his painting has changed and that his wish had come true, he hides the painting to a room where no one but him has access to. As time goes by, he becomes more infected by the ideas of Henry, but he loses control over his behaviour and his reputation in public decreases. This grows concern in Basil, who has deep feelings for Dorian and Basil tries to put some sense into the boy's mind. After

Character sketch Georgie, Sasha

He was not that interested in beating men and raping women because he was in my opinion more intelligent than the others. He rather kept to himself. In my opinion Georgie was ruthless, enthusiatic, quite agressive, maybe even obnoxious but also he was self-centered, closed, quiet and I would say he was more peaceful than the others especially more than Alex. I think that he was self-confident due to the fact that he was the on who started the rebellion against the cruel, heartless, cold-blooded Alex. I liked Georgie just for the reason that he stood up for himself and didn’t let others manipulate with him. But the fact that he did cruel and sadistic things makes me want to change my mind. Character sketch – Sasha Virginia Woolf – Orlando My this character sketch is going to be about Sasha from the book „Orlando“ written by Virginia Woolf

Katherine Mansfield

The Garden Party Katherine Mansfield Character Analysis: Laura The character that won my favor is Laura, the protagonist of the story, who comes across as a fragile and insecure young woman. All at once she starts to perceive her role in this complex world. Moreover, she begins to wonder over the values and delusions, which are of great importance in life. Throughout the story it stands to reason that she is trying to establish her true self, even though she is steadily influenced by her family, especially by her mother. On account of her constant questionings she finally evolves into an individual, who is capable of distinguishing essential truths of life from unimportant ones, however she still remains to be uncertain, which may indicate that her discoveries are not all-encompassing in nature and may fade away from the memory. From t...

Scott Pilgrim vs the world

exhausting even if you're just doing basic moves. Clom i was really really surprised at how little i loved this film. the art and sound design is really John Maguire I got some big laughs brilliant but it's a surprisingly inert, dare from Scott Pilgrim, more than any other I say, heartless enterprise. the romance comedy so far this summer. It's witty, is excruciating (not to mind groan sweet and very geeky and, best of all; it inducingly chaste), the story takes a doesn't ask to be taken seriously. There while to get going and then slots into a is no real purpose to any of the clunky format in such a thrall to how uncountable homages rendered other

Outstanding figures in British literature

Later on Dickens became rich He wrote about greed and debt and about rags to riches (to rags) He brings to light the political and economic oppression suffered by the poor, greatly critisizes the society and politics with the use of sarcasm Dickens symphatizes with the poor and implies that their woes result from society's unfairness not their own failings Wealthy people are mostly pictured harsh, selfish, cruel and heartless ,,Subdue your appetites, my dears, and you've conquered human nature." ,,Dignity, and even holiness too, sometimes,
