How can we increase the quality of breathable air? “I’ll go out for a breath of fresh air” is an often-heard phrase. But how many of us realize that this has become irrelevant in today’s world? Air pollution is the addition of any harmful substances to the atmosphere, which causes the damaging of the environment, human health and the quality of life. Firstly, we should use green methods of powering like wind energy and landfill gas energy. This would reduce the amount of harmful gases. Another useful suggestion would be to plant trees. In this way we can increase the source of breathable oxygen. Unfortunately, many companies are contributing to deforestation.
How can we reduce air pollution level in cities? The air pollution levels are extremely high in cities, but how can people change this situation? Cars and big factories emit lots of deleterious gases into the air, for example carbonic acid gas, cities are not healthy places to live anymore. Firstly, we should using the public transport. Everybody can walk and bicycle instead of driving cars. Vehicles emit a lot of harmful gases into the air. Every family member does not need his or her own car. One car for the whole family would minimise the number of cars in cities and air pollution levels will come down. Secondly, people have to recycle. It would help reduce factories work. It will emit less harmful gases into the air. Finally, we should plant more trees in cities and also create more national parks. They produce oxygen.
What is so special about it? In this essay I am going to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of fast food. Firstly, the main advantage- it saves time and people don't have to spend their time cooking something for themselves. There are many people who live in a rush, so it is a good solution for them. Time is money! Secondly, fast food restaurants are cheaper than the others and fast food tastes really good too! The main disadvantage of fast food is the harmful effect it has on our health. It is a fact that it contains higher amounts of salt, fats, and additives than home-made food. People eat it too much and it can make them fat, so it is not a good idea to eat it every day. In my opinion fast food is more harmful than healthy. If we don't eat it too often, it doesn't damage our health. Better safe than sorry.
Imitation hair curlers, dryers and straighteners are not subject to the same vigorous safety tests as genuine items with some units prone to overheating, presenting a fire risk. Meanwhile laboratory tests have shown counterfeit perfume often contains poisonous chemicals including cyanide and even human urine, according to investigators. Fake cosmetics such as eyeliner, mascara, lip gloss and foundation have been found to contain toxic levels of chemicals and harmful substances such as arsenic, mercury and lead. The unwanted elements can lead to swelling, rashes and in the most serious cases, lethal poisoning. Consumers using websites to buy fake goods have also been warned that they are at risk of having their identities stolen. Detective Superintendent Maria Woodall said: ''Many people don't know about the real dangers counterfeit beauty products pose to their health. Criminals are exploiting

There are aereas that suffer under the lackess of fresh water. It's very usual in Africa. If we would live in an area under water crisis, we would pay more respect to fresh water. We can't even imagine what's happening in the world every day. Oceans, ground water and inland water bodies are being polluted all the time by different pollutants. There are many causes, but the main ones are fertilizers, factories and different kind of water accidents. Oilslicks can be harmful to the ocean plants, birds and other underwater creatures. Pollutants from factories and fertilizers are harmful to our health. They can cause typhoid and dysentery if we drink the contaminated water. To conclude the topic, I want to say that we have to pay more attention to the environment. It's easy to destroy, but hard to build. We can destroy at any time we want, but if we have an opportunity to preserve, we should hold on to that, because later it would be too late.

THE IMPACT OF THE MEDIA ON BAD BODY IMAGE IN CHILDREN Kristiina Tammik What is body image? Body image is the perception of one's own body, based chiefly in comparison to socially constructed standards or ideals The way you perceive yourself How you feel IN your body What you believe about your appearance What is the issue? Negative body image is important to recognize because often, whether the person has control over the issue or not, it leads to harmful results. Koos vee ja mineraalsooladega imenduvad pestitsiidid taimedesse (Introduction to ecological pyramids: biomagnification. Accumulation of harmful chemicals in food chains. 2010). Sellega on pestitsiidid toiduahela esimesse troofilisse tasemesse sisenenud ja pannud aluse biomagnifikatsioonile ehk bioloogilisele kuhjumisele (Miller & Spoolman 2008). Antud taimi tarbivad taimtoidulised organismid, mida tarbivad järgmise troofilise taseme organismid ja nii jätkub süsteem toiduahela viimase lülini. Igas troofilises tasemes on kogunenud organismi järjest

Eating disorders According to the medical dictionary, eating disorders are a group of behaviors often fueled by unresolved emotional conflicts symptomized by altered food consumption. The most common types of eating disorders are anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Why do some people start with such harmful nutritional habits? Firstly, one reason for this could be media. Advertisers heavily market weight-reduction programs and present anorexic young models as the paradigm of sexual desirability. Also, clothes are designed and displayed for thin bodies in spite of the fact that few women could wear them successfully. Another thing to mention is genetic factors. According to studies, anorexia is eight times more common in people who have relatives with the disorder
THE EFFECT OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA ON YOUNG PEOPLE Nowadays it is not a secret, that electronic media can be really harmful for developing human brain. But only some people know, how exactly TV, computer or radio influences younger generation. How to recognize whether the program is appropriate or not? The answer is pacing. If you see, that certain TV program is slow-paced and has the narrative form, then you should know that it can help to develop the long-term memory. But if the program is frenetically-paced, then it usually contains a violence that
Although computers are making our lifes easier I do not support placing computers to classrooms. Firstly, when students sit in front of the computers from lesson to lesson then their scholastic proficiency will degenerate because they will surf on the internet, chat on MSN and so on. It is doubtless that computers in classroom scatter students attention. Furthermore, computers damage students health. The rays what computer screen vomit are very harmful, so staring at computer screen too much will cause intense damages to people eyes. So from that viewpoint it is absurd to put computers to every classroom. On the other hand, computers in every classroom would make students life easier. They could take notes by computer and also look for additional information about lesson's topic and maybe learn more by that. In conclusion, I think that it is not necessary to have computers in every classroom, because
Time is money. Of course those wonderful inventions can save our time and nowadays when the pace of life is very fast, it is so important. In my opinion the communications technology is the most valuable, because it makes possible to resque people who need help. A development of transport is also important in this field. But the fact is that people are getting lazy. Machines do all the work for the people. We just sit and watch machines doing our duties, unfortunately it is so harmful for our health. Computers, the internet and social networks they all put up a wall between real-life communicating. People can not speak and write correctly, because they are usind slang every day on the internet. It is quite impossible to avoid technology, we are forced to use it, for example e-school and the internet bank. But we should stay realistic and need to know that we can not trust technology everywhere. When we can do it, we can avoid disasters and everything is gonna be all right
Just imagine, if machinery had not been invented, we would spend whole days on doing our house work. Moreover, as we live in the information society, collecting data is essential for us. It is also more comfortable to search for information without having to leaf through an encyclopedia and using a contemporary computer instead.. On the other hand, up-to-date technology may replace human's labour. We entrust technology a lot of duties, so that it can have harmful consequences. If technology progresses, there will be no need for human's work. As a result, the part of population will become unemployed. Furthermore, technology has an effect on psyche, especially children are at risk of it. They lose themselves in the individualistic activities and a bedroom becomes a place to socialise. All in all, technology has as positive and as negative effect. It will be beneficial if we appreciate humanity more than technology and do not forget about its cons.

The effects mobile phones have on our lives Martin Põldvee 12a It is clearly that mobile phones have become an irreplaceable part of our lives. We use it to communicate with others, arrange our business or just for entertainment. As the mobile phones have simplyfied our lives in various ways, it also brings many disadvantages. To begin with, many researches have shown that mobile phone radiation may be harmful to human health. If mobile phones are used too frequently it may slightly damage your brain or reduce men's potential in getting siblings. It is also belieaved that mobile phones may cause some sleeping problems. Another, more usual problem what comes with cellphones is that they are expensive to use and when the battery is dead, it is completely useless. Also if parents trust their children to use mobile phones at very young age, the may get surprised when they finally see the bill
Technology has become a very important part of our lives nowadays. It can be argued that modern technology makes life easier and more dignified for most of people. Technology may be very helpful but it can sometimes be very harmful. Firstly, medical science is very progressive and vastly available. Without the needed technology a lot of people would struggle with their health. Secondly, some of the creations that have really changed our lives are the computer, telephone, transport, internet and electronic media, television. The modern means of transportation allows people to move quickly from one place to another. The airplane is the most widely used means of transportation

It is designed to for busy people who do not have time to cook. But how many people are aware of the advantages and disadvantages of fast food? To start with, the most important thing to know is that fast food is not healthy. It is full of saturated fats and other chemicals, which are not useful to us. People should start to work less and cook more. That guarantees they will be healthier, more active and less sleepy. Fast food is not always harmful. Our bodies need a balanced diet we need some fats, sugars and salt what are in fast food. Everybody should know when to stop eating fast food. We should put our eating habits in balance not too much fast food and also not too much vegetables and fruits. The main advantage is that fast food is convenient. It is available whenever you want. For example, people who works late at night are use to buying some meals on their way home
Nowadays lots of people drink alcoholic drinks. While I think that drinking alcoholic drinks is up to every person himself, I am strongly opposed to advertisements promoting alcohol. Firstly, seeing, for example, a cold bottle of beer with water drops on it on TV is very tempting. It looks so beautiful and fresh and that makes you think that you have to buy it. Usually people do not think that it looks good only on TV and those drinks are harmful for health. Furthermore, advertisements promoting alcohol show that drinking alcohol makes people cooler and parties better. In these advertisements all the people are smiling, nobody is angry and everybody feels at ease. But in real life these parties are not so good, some people, who are really drunk, start to fight with other ones. Also, it is not unusual for some people to end their party in hospital.
Speech Hey My name is Silver and today i'm talking about Sports!! Sport is important thing in our life. I think anyone can't live without some sport. There are also people who are engaged in armchairs sport but it's not healthy to see the whole day watching TV and drinking beer. Sitting in the back of the TV is very very harmful to our body. I actually do some sports in day like playing somethimes football in summer and basketball. My favorite sport is Skateboarding. Although this is not sport. But some people thinks that skateboarding is sport and others not. For me it's sport because it's pretty hard to drive all the day and then go to home and to your homeworks and so one. I drive with my friends and it's pretty fun because i can do some tricks that my friends can't do and then they are going to learn that trick

Many people nowadays think that it is normal to see people smoking on the streets. But isn't this a bad way to picture our everyday life? It is certainly tue that treating people with smoking-related illnesses costs millions of dollars a year. Many people who have gone down the road of smoking don't have enough money to pay for their treatment. Another point in favour of banning smoking in all public places is the fact that passive smoking is very harmful. A lot of people and not only adults but children too who don't smoke may not even have an idea that being close to a smoking person can be very dangerous. One argument against is that the police has better things to do than to enforce a smoking ban. Smoking is something that all people won't just quit and the trouble for the police for punishing all of them is just too big in quantity. Also you can't force people to stop smoking if they don't want to. Smoking is a habit
But then there are also sports competitions which are good for entertainment but thereARE no actual benefits coming from them. At the same time people like it very much and are happy to attend and KAASA ELADA. ATHLETES can do what they are the best at. I think that beauty contests are for pretty people. If someone's goal of life is to be the most beautiful in the world then it is okay and if it makes her happy it is great, because it is quite harmful and easy to ignore. Some people say that it creates low self-esteem and too high standards, but I think that people should really use their own brains and TEADVUSTAMA themselves what stays in the boundaries of normal. So beauty contests do serve a purpose in present society. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
according how i wish.It has thousands of application, quiz, games etc which keeps the user addicted with the site. If you want you can even sell some things on Facbook and if you´re dog or cat get´s lost you uplode a picture of the animal and you´re friends eill share it and usually everyone will find their animal. Now it's time to talk about some disadvantages of Facebook. Using Facebook for your need is actually good for us but when we waste most of our valuable time then it becomes harmful. Facebook often brings bad effects on student results, addicted students do not get good marks in their exams unless they cheat or way too smart for the class. In the end Facbook is not a bad thing it can even help at some problem but if you´re addicted to Facebook you need to do something about it. So everyone needs to be caerful about using Facebook.
call for help. In addition mobile phones can be used for several tasks. For instance, if we want something to be captured we can use our mobile phones. They are equipped with a camera in consequence we can take pictures and videos and later watch them on our computer. As a result mobile phones are a way of entertainment. On the other hand mobile phones have their disadvantages. Moreover it was proved that mobile phones are harmful to our health. Mobile phones send out electromagnetic radiation. For example that can have effect on our brain and heart. It is not recommended to wear mobile phones in your breast pocket or having phone close to your head. Thus it is recommended to use hands-free. Secondly, people can get addicted to mobile phones. For instance they can´t put an end to their calls and the result will be a drastic bills. All things considered, it seems to me that mobile phones improve our comfortable life but
We wrote down our opinion on the 6th of september 2012 in our english class. We had 12 students who gave an opinion about the Estonian educational system. Corporal punishment is illegal in British and Estonian schools. 62% of British childrens think that it would be needful but only 31% Estonian childrens have the same opinion. Actually it could be not banned, because if they used controlled corporal punishment it is not likely to be harmful. I would argue that there were actually fewer discipline problems back in the old days when corporal punishment was more common. Most school in England require children to wear school uniform. Estonian children no longer wear uniforms but few decades ago they wore uniforms. 74% British students and 39% Estonian students believes that school uniforms should be compulsory for all students at all grade levels. I

a excercise or a story, then they can access to it very fast. Also, nowadays society is accustomed to use smart-phones and it is easier to them remember new words or important information. Therefore, smart-phones have advantage to make one a better learner and do things faster. A big disadvantage of using smart-phones is that they can affect ones health and capability. For example, when students begin to use smart-phones at early age and the wolume of work is massive, then it is dreadfully harmful to students eyes and they will get tired easily. It can lead to many health issues like farsightedness and headaches. As well, if students are using smart-phones constantly, they can not manage to do simple things without it and it can ruin ones life. Therefore, if people use smart-phones daily, then smart-phones are not recommended for their harmfulness to peoples lives. In conclusion, considering the information above, I think that smart-phones are very useful for
Essay about Food Inc. Food Inc. is a 2008 American documentary film directed by filmmaker Robert Kenner. Food Inc. is about corporate farming in the United States, where farms produce food that is unhealthy, in a way that is environmentally harmful and abusive of both animals and employees. The main problem is how the animals are raised, how they are slaughtered and how the meat is manufactured. Farms are controlled by big food industries. Cows are fed corn instead of grass, because corn is cheeper and makes cows obese more quickly. Because of the unhealthy environment animals are raised in, they get infected with salmonella and coliform bacteria. Salmonella and coliform bacteria infected food can lead to serious diseases and death.

take a closer look at some of the pros and cons of medical development. I will begin with the positive aspects of medical evolution. Firstly, thanks to advanced medicine, doctors are able to detect diseases at an early stage, or even before they arise, which gives people a longer life. Secondly, knowing how diseases spread and behave is possible with the help of medicines to avoid huge outbreaks that could kill thousands of people. Thirdly, studies will be helping to make the medicaments less harmful. Fourthly, making complex transplant operations can help many people to survive and live a full life. While it is true to say that development of medicine affects people, I think that there are at least three drawbacks to this kind of progress. Firstly, terrorists or psychopaths might use medications and researches to attack innocent people. Secondly, viruses are becoming stronger and immune to drugs, because people are using too much medicaments and
To begin with, there are certain arguments in favour of being free. Firstly, people in developed countries have a freedom of speech. As a result, democratic policy in such regions offers a great opportunity to citizens to have their opinions heard and be considered. Moreover, some people suggest that being free mean material independence. If a man provide himself (materially), he is able to act as he wants to do it. In spite of having many advantages, being free may also be harmful for certain people. The most important disadvantage is that too much freedom in children`s upbringings could cause a big variety of problems of person`s character in the future life. For instance, that young ones, who acquit themselves ill in childhood and are not punished by parents, can connect their life with crime in after years.
