confront her deeper feminine nature.
T h e status quo might be a aging generation or ruler, reluctant to give up
power, or a parent unwilling to admit the child is grown. T h e W i z a r d at this point
is like a harassed father, grouchy about being interrupted and having demands put
on h i m by youth. T h i s angry parental force must be appeased or dealt with in some
way before the adventure can proceed. W e must all pass tests to earn the approval of
parental forces.
Parents sometimes set impossible conditions on winning their love and accept
ance. You can't ever seem to please them. Sometimes the very people you naturally
turn to in a crisis will push you away. You may have to face the big moment alone.
