Class and social status in Pride and Prejudice

Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice Class and social status in Pride and Prejudice Mankind has been acknowledging one another's superiority since the dawn of time. In the novel under the discussion, social status has a great importance in the turn of events. Everyone in the novel is somehow influenced by the topic of fortune or social class. To start with, even though "Pride and Prejudice" touches on many different subjects and characters, its main events are related to or caused by the dogmas of class distinctions. The main characters are influenced by that on numerous occasions. Mr. Darcy, of noble descent, finds it hard at first to cope with the relatives and social status of the woman he falls in love with, Elizabeth. He goes as far as mentioning his superiority to her in his first marriage

Where I'm From - poem/luuletus

Where I'm From I'm not from a country of fortune and fame, I'm just from a group that thinks it's a game. I'm not from a place of emotional flow, But more from a place where nothing will show. I am from the seaside, I'm waiting for tide, The amount of their feelings that people will hide. I am from a country with a colorful past, "How long?" they said, "How long will it last?" Dark clouds sent by gods as they form in the sky, Like millions of people on the streets walking by. Now, imagine that people would become extinct,

The National Lottery

The National Lottery creates a millionaire every week in Britain. All of us have fantasized about winning the big prize in The National Lottery. We dream about what we would do with the money, but we rarely stop to think about what the money would do to us. For most of us , our way of life is closely linked to our econmic circumstances. The Different parts of our life fit together like a jigsaw, this is where we belong and where we feel at home. A sudden windfall would smash the jigsaw. Most people like the idea of not having to work, but winners have found that without work there's no purpose to their day, and no reason to get up in the morning. It's tempting to move to a bigger house in a wealthy neighbourhood but, in so doing, u leave old friends and routines behind. There are many stories about people who can't learn how to be rich. The Lean Startup summary

became a #2 New York Times bestseller. The reason why I picked this book is because it was something that i found interesting and I thought I would really enjoy reading book about business. Eric Ries defines in this book a startup as an organization dedicated to creating something new under conditions of extreme uncertainty. This is just as true for one person in a garage or a group of seasoned professionals in a Fortune 500 boardroom. What they have in common is a mission to penetrate that fog of uncertainty to discover a successful path to a sustainable business. I learned about startup philosophy, which is used by both startups and more mature companies. This Book part´s are Vision, Define, Learn, Experiment, Leap, Test, Measure, Pivot or Preserve, Grow and Innovate. My favorite sentence from this book is “Those who look to adopt lean startup as a defined set of steps or tactics will not succeed

them to replace their lead singer. The guys said "no" at first, but when Farrokh sang to them they changed their minds. The band started with small gigs. But the singer had bigger plans. The movie had two biggest unexpected twists. The first one was when Freddie realized that he was gay and the second one was, when he found out that he has AIDS. The film reached a dramatic climax, when Freddie was offered a solo career, where he would make a fortune. He quit Queen and moved to another country. His boyfriend didn't let him talk to his old friends and his ex fiance. Fortunately Jane (his ex fiance) came to see him and made him rejoin Queen. The film ends with Live Aid concert. The film was amazing, I really liked it. The cast fit into their roles perfectly and it had a very powerful ending.

Wealth does not bring happiness. True or falce?

Wealth does not bring happiness. True or falce? Many people believe that you can do anything if you have money, they believe that money brings happiness, great fortune, fame and health. You have power and you can buy whatever you like. On one hand, it is true but on the other hand it is false. Money can improve your lifestyle in many ways. It can help you buy fresh food, it can help you get good medical care. Money also allows you to travel and meet new people, new places and new civilizations. It permits you to have a lot of free time to relax, do the things you like and buy all the stuff you like. On the other hand, money makes you greedy and selfish

The good and bad points of being rich and famous

want. Secondly, if you are young and your parents are rich you can start using the advantages of being rich already as a kid. For example you can go to a private school or even to a private kindergarten. On the other hand , their wealth and fame make their life stressful. Moreover , it makes people jealous and hateful. Such people find it difficult to make true friends and maintain relationships long-distance. People around them look only to benefit from their fame and fortune, or socialize with them just because they are equally rich. Family is often not there, or children and parents just live a different life. They also don't have privacy - press is looking at the famous people all the time. There are both positive and negative aspects of money and fame, but most important is how people react to it and use it. In my opinion it's better to be normal than famous and rich because you have time for your family and you have your freedom.

Belling The Cat (Inglisekeelne luuletus koos tõlkega)

Many plans were discussed, but none of them was thought good enough. At last a very young Mouse got up and said: "I have a plan that seems very simple, but I know it will be successful. All we have to do is to hang a bell about the Cat's neck. When we hear the bell ringing we will know immediately that our enemy is coming." All the Mice were much surprised that they had not thought of such a plan before. But in the midst of the rejoicing over their good fortune, an old Mouse arose and said: "I will say that the plan of the young Mouse is very good. But let me ask one question: Who will bell the Cat?" KASSI KELLASTAMINE Hiired tahtsid vabaneda oma vaenlasest, kassist. Või vähemalt teada saada, kui ta on tulemas, et põgeneda. Arutati paljusid plaane, kuid ükski polnud piisavalt hea. Myrtle is the only one calling him “Master Georgie”. Mr Hardy leaves his affluent lifestyle in Liverpool, where he is heir to a fortune, to go to war at Inkerman in the Crimea. He believes "that the war would at last provide him with the prop he needed." His story is told by Myrtle, Dr Potter and Pompey Jones, who’s lives are changed by a sudden death of Hardy’s father in a brothel in Liverpool in 1846. The 4 characters don’t want to break Hardy’s moms heart so they want the fathers death to seem like he died calmly in his sleep. The novel opens on 13 May 1876 with a university student, Pyotr Kokorin, committing suicide in the public park in front of a beautiful young noblewoman, Elizaveta von Evert-Kolokoltseva. His will leaves his large fortune to the newly opened Moscow chapter of Astair House, an international network of schools for orphan boys founded by an English noblewoman, Lady Astair. The apparently open-and-shut suicide case falls to inexperienced 20-year-old detective Erast Fandorin. He interviews Elizaveta, and immediately falls in love with her. Further investigation reveals that Kokorin was playing Russian roulette (called "American roulette" in the novel) with another university student, Akhtyrtsev.

If I Were A Millionaire

If I Were A Millionaire... Everyone of us has their own dreams and it is hard to believe that out there is someone who has not dreamed about money. I am talking about a huge amount of money. If I were a millionaire, I could own all those things I have not had in my life before. First, if I were the lucky one, who would have a chance to be a millionaire, there would be millions of ways how to spend it. As to the point that my family has been the most precious fortune for me, I would give at least one third of that to my loved ones. I think that this would be a clever action. Second, if I would have the chance then I would purchase all these things I have wanted in my entire life. I would definitely buy an enormous but cozy house where I could finally make my dream come true - have as many pets as I want! number, then you're not rich or poor, it still affects the lives and the way we live. People should understand that money does not have to be so, that I had a lot of money is intended primarily to allow life to live as love. After all, we all dream of unlimited money and a lifestyle that would allow us to do everything. One might assume that wealth is based on a high enough IQ, education, contacts, etc., but these conditions do not permit a large fortune and wealth. I have to accept in full the sentence heard, that we have already programmed a little after the money in the wrong perception to believe. There are, of course, said that only big money can bring the work and trouble, something does not fall after all, just for you, and the rich are actually those people who have become rich by deceit.

worth the title. The four engine plane can carry up to 181 passengers and cruise at 600 mph for 5280 miles on a full tank. This has made continetial travelling extremely comfortable, as voyages that formerly took a couple of weeks can now be passed with only 1 day or even less. The first jet flight took off from New York and landed in Paris, soon after that there was a connection between Los Angeles and New York. I can only assume that the tickets had to cost a fortune in the beginning, but the time spared was and is still worth it, as the plane tickets do not even cost so much nowadays, it is perhaps the cheapest and the fastest way to travel. The secound reason why i thought that a plane ment for passengers is the greatest invention is that it is an technological wonder. I still find it hard to believe, that a metal construction, that is enormously heavy is able to take off from the ground and fly. Every piece of the plane has

So is the development of technique our fortune or accident? Of course the technique makes our lives easier. New agricultural machines are able to do more work than we. Planes and ships enable us to discover foreign countries thousands of miles away and broaden the mind. Moreover we have a chance to find interesting and educating information from computer, but with what price? All these robots and facilities prevent us from thinking ourselves. The Canterbury tales by Geoffrey Chaucer

wanted to be modern. That way Chaucer made fun of the pardoners and the Church, because in my opinion he thought that they were corrupted and dishonest and only up for their own good. In the general prologue, where Chaucer described almost all of the characters, he satirized the values of that era. He found the fact that people were divided into social classes depending on the size of their fortune wrong. He pointed out that simple people who worked hard and earney their money themselves were much more honourable than people who lied to get it. He made fun on chivalry and Church and he had an innovative viewpoint on things.

But Orlando couldn’t overcome her seductive nature and also what made it harder was the fact that she spoke fluent french. In 1979 Mohamed Al-Fayed bought it, and spent a fortune renovating it into the luxury retreat it is today. The Hôtel Ritz is probably most famous these days for being the departure point for the fatal ride for Princess Diana, Dodi Al-Fayed, their inebriated driver Henri Paul, who was the hotel's head of security.

Kõige rohkem on laule koori esituses. Kõige tuntum kindlasti on teose avakoor ,,O fortuna". See on võimas ja dramaatiline. Terve orkester mängib ja koor laulab. Dünaamika on võimsast fff kuni sosinani välja. Selliseid avakoore annab kõrvale otsida. See räägib saatusest.
