Car v. walking

Car v. walking Today, people are becoming more and more comfortable and lazier. People are buying more cars than ever, and are starting to forget what is walking; they tend to forget that walking is also one of the ways of traveling. But which is better travelling by car or walking on foot? On the one hand, travelling by car is much quicker than travelling on foot, on foot, people are travelling about 5 km/h, but with car, you can travel so fast, how fast you are allowed to. Also, car is much more comfortable, especially nowadays. But the biggest plus in travelling by car in my opinion, is that, when you are travelling by car you can travel long distances, but when you are walking, you can travel about 10 km and then human organism needs a rest. But there is no healthier travelling way than walking; when people are walking every

THE NEW “BAMBO” PUSHCHAIR

Observations. It was found that the majority of the people who had been interviewed thought that the chair is fantastic. In the words of Mrs Roberta for example it is light and manageable, definitely better than her old pushchairs. Its good points are also that it is easy to steer, it has an attractive design and it fits in the boot of the car. A minority of people found mistakes from "Bambo". One complaint for example was that the wheel locking mechanism is too small to operate by foot. Recommendations. It is recommended that the wheel locking mechanism should be larger so it could be operated by foot and the opening hinge should be made easier to open/close. In the words of Mr and Mrs Osmonth it is a bit stiff to open and close. It is also advisable to increase the size of the wheels, because they appear to be too small and getting stuck in little holes. If you sum up the good and the bad points then there are certainly more good than bad

Milking machine

to an article in The Agricultural Gazette. • In Scotland, William Murchland invented a very successful vacuum milker in 1889, which hung suspended under the cow. He was granted a U.S. patent in 1892. • The Murchland milker, along with the famous "Thistle" milker, was extensively tested by the Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland in 1898. • Numerous other hand pumped suction milkers were devised in the next thirty years, with the foot operated Mehring machine being, perhaps, the ultimate in pre- pulsator suction milkers. • Two cows could be milked at the same time, using this machine, with the operator sitting on it's bench, between the cows, and working the foot levers to provide vacuum. • The Mehring foot power machine was still marketed well into the 20th century and many were sold. A fine example was recently noted at one of the Brimfield shows, priced at $400. Pulsator

Transmission and differential

Transmission and differential Rene Põlluvee and Kaupo Kormik 43AT 2015 Transmission ● The transmission is a mechanical component designed to transmit power from a vehicle’s engine to the drive axle, which makes the wheels drive the vehicle. Some vehicles use a clutch to connect and disconnect the transmission to the engine, controlled through a foot pedal next to the brake pedal. These vehicles have a manual transmission. If your car doesn’t have a clutch pedal, it has an automatic transmission.Automatic transmissions depend on a special fluid called ATF to cool and lubricate the moving parts inside. But the fluid does more than that: In fact, it’s no exaggeration to say that the fluid actually drives the vehicle. So there’s little doubt that the fluid is very important to the

construction. The wall was the northern border of the Empire in Britain for much of the Roman Empire's rule, and also the most heavily fortified border in the Empire. In addition to its use as a military fortification, it is thought that the gates through the wall would also have served as customs posts to allow trade taxation. A significant portion of the wall still exists, particularly the mid-section, and for much of its length the wall can be followed on foot. It is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern England, where it is often known simply as the Roman Wall. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. English Heritage, a government organization in charge of managing the historic environment of England, describes it as "the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain".[1] Sections of Hadrian's Wall remain near Greenhead and along the route, though other large

Report

In order to prepare this report we interviewed students from all parts of college. According to students we spoke to, the car park is used by a lot of visitors and year by year more students have more cars. Not surprisingly, the car park becomes full and there are not enough possibilities to leave car. The second problem is that the buses often run late and are always full. The majority of students cannot afford the taxi fare from home to college. Some of them are unwilling to go on foot, because they are living far from college. The most realistic solution is to improve the bus service, writing to bus company. As a result good public transport will reduce the number of private cars. The second decision is to raise the price of car parking and extend it into the sports field. Perhaps it will take some time and extra money, but it will solve the majority of our transport problems. Yours sincerely, xxx

The Major Environmental Problems In Estonia

The Major Environmental Problems in Estonia The environment and saving it are important topics in today's world. In fact there are often several articles in newspapers and on television about environmental problems all around the world. To begin with, Estonia is a little country with small towns. In spite of that there is pollution. Most of the people here have their own cars and they prefer driving five hundred meters by car than walking by foot. In addition to that pollution is also caused by industries which are often located in towns near peoples' homes. As Estonia belongs to developed countries, people have enough power purchased and they mindlessly buy things they do not even need. According to that there is overconsumption which also causes huge waste dumps. Lastly there is abuse of the natural resources in Estonia. While wasting paper, people do not think that it is made of both wood and water which should be saved

The Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California is one of the most beautiful, and most photographed, bridges in the world. The Golden Gate Bridge is a 1.7 mile(2,74 km)long bridge that can be crossed by car, on bicycles or on foot. It is the second longest bridge in the United States. The Golden Gate Bridge, completed after more than four years of construction at a cost of $35 million, opened to traffic on May 28, 1937 at twelve o'clock noon. One of the most interesting Golden Gate Bridge fact is that only eleven workers died during construction, a new safety record for the time. One of the bridge's safety innovations was a net suspended under the floor. This net saved the lives of 19 men during construction .

"Dangerous situation" lühijutt inglise keeles

Few months ago I went to my friends place to watch some movies and talk about girl stuff. We had lots of fun and we were all prepared for sleep over. We had our sleeping bags, tooth brushes and everything we needed for sleep over. But suddenly I felt really bad pain in my head, I thought it would go over with few minutes but it lasted a while so I decided to go home, it was midnight and i called my parents, they were already sleeping and I didn't have money for taxi so I went on foot. I packed everything and started walking home. For some reason street lights didn't work and therefore I didn't see anything at all, it was really scary. I decided to call my brother, I told him to meet me halfway, he agreed. I started listening to my music because I thought this would make the fear go away. Out of nowhere somebody hit me and grabbed my bag, I couldn't catch him because I was wearing heels, I panicked and

Hi Andrew, The hobbies of yours that you told me about in the last letter seem to be quite interesting. I am also into sports like you are. But your interest about machinery and computer are not so thrilling for me. So now I am going to tell you about my hobbies. I have quite a lot of hobbies, they can be related together as sports. I am into lots of sport activities like cycling, rollerskating, running, swimming and dancing. I like playing foot-, basket- and volleyball. I have been to tennis courses when I was little. I played basketball for about two years and our team was quite successful. I have also been to track and field training, but only for a year. I attended dancing also a year and then made a pause and now I take up dance lessons again. It is freestyle dancing that I am dealing with. I like it a lot. I do other sports just for my self or for fun with my friends. I have also hobbies from other areas. I like photography a lot....

occasions. Although extensively bombed by Soviet airforces during the latter stages of World War II, much of the medieval Old Town still retains its charm. Since independence, improving air and sea transport links with Western Europe and Estonia's accession to the European Union have made Tallinn easily accessible to tourists. SIGHTSEEING The main attractions are in the two old towns, Lower Town and Toompea, which are both easily explored on foot. Eastern districts around Pirita and Kadriorg are also worth visiting and the Estonian Open Air Museum near Rocca al Mare, west of the city, preserves aspects of Estonian rural culture and architecture. KADRIORG This is 2 kilometres east of the centre and is served by buses and trams. The former palace of Peter the Great, built just after the Great Northern War, now houses (part of) the Art Museum of Estonia, presidential residence and the surrounding grounds include formal gardens and woodland

Dear......, Thank you for your letter. It was nice to hear from you. I am writing to inform you that I have already found a very nice house where you can spend your summer holiday. Firstly, the house is not very close to me, but it is located in our area. The address is 32 Beech Lane, Deighton. It takes about 5 minutes by bus and 20 minutes on foot to get my place. Also, the house is located near the Comarket and behind the park. So it does not take much time to go to the shop and you have a very good opportunity to go jogging in the morning. Further, the rent is not expensive, only 800£ a month. Secondly, the house is very nice and spacious. It is a new stone building house or as the owner calls it, a castle. You do not have to worry about furnish, because it is fully- furnished

travelling with car in citycenter. But what about service vechicles and public trasnport ? These will be still allowed. This will be the fastest way to travel in citycenter. I also tought so. Perhaps You have some more good ideas ? Let me think... Yes, I do. Speak ,Jana, I´ll listen and write them also down. I think, city should build a big parking house or parking lots near to citycenter, where people let their cars and move along on foot or with public transport. Maybe also there should be such place, where You can lend a bike . That´s great idea. With this method, the air in citycenter would be much more fresh. And also people will never be late to work or school. I really hope, that governor will agree with this idea, and our petition will pass. I´m pretty sure, that lot of people will support us. I hope so too. I promise, that we will do everything, we can to make car-free zones. Thank You very much for listening to me.

getting stuck in little holes. There were also profoundly positive comments, like Mrs Roberta Long's from Gloucester which said that this is fantastic so light and manageable. It was found that the pushchair is light, easy to steer, comfortable for a baby, small when folded and has attractive design and colours. Conclusion "Bocia" might consider increasing the size of wheels and making their locking mechanism larger as it is too small to operate by foot. It is also advisable to make the opening hinge easier to open and close. On the whole, parents seem to be pretty pleased with the manufacturer's new pushchair "Bambo" and they were happy to give tips to improve it.

REPORT

to visit the area. People who are visiting Poku are also leaving too much trash behind. Plastic and chemicals recycling is also problematic because right now there is little ways to recycle them. I recommend that we could use extra trash bins, so tourist could always put their trash in proper places. Car park situated in proper distant from Poku would be good solution to fight air pollution. Hopefully then visitors would prefer to leave their cars a little bit farer and enter the area on foot. Government should stop cutting trees near these areas or they lose a beautiful and varied living place of many wild animals.
