The sight of Trey stepping into the hallway while I was putting the roast in the oven surprised me, and then it made me sad. I hated to see him leave looking flushed, disheveled, and crying.

Resume (conception of studying and teaching in university)

discipline. It would also free children from the pressure to buy trendy clothes. All the childrens would be dressed in the same way and as a result it would cut out a school bullying, which is often used, because some children do not have money to buy expensive and fashionable clothes and they are bullied because of that. Children would not have to think about what to wear in the morning and parents save time taking children shopping and spending extra money. Children will be that much less focused on appearance and more on learning. However school uniforms are good there is some disadvantages too. For example children can not show their character, which is often based on clothing. Some school uniform may be more expensive than oridnary clothes and it is will make financial problems for poor families. All in all, I think that school uniforms are useful and children can not make fun of them because their parents could not afford to buy them the newest trendy garment.

Theology. I was elected to our school’s Associated Student Body where I had the responsibility of caring for our school’s financial activities as the treasurer. I also received Honors and a Seal of Biliteracy. History has had always a big part of my life. I knew I wanted to be a history teacher at the age of 13 when I was in junior high in Yorba Linda. Since then, I have read tons of history-based books and mostly focused on the Postclassical era. Last semester I went to Cambodia and filmed a documentary about Angkor Wat. This work was extremely enjoyable and I feel the urge to do something amazing like this again. I have enclosed my CV with the details of my application. I am looking forward to your response in the near future. Yours sincerely, student M. Davis

Surviving exams article

Surviving exams Taking an exam or test is something everyone has experienced in one form or another at some point in life. Everyone gets stressed during exams but it is important not to let it get out of control. The suggestions below may help you cope with the stress and revise for examinations successfully. Firstly, I think it would be a good idea to create a study timetable for revision. A timetable helps you to make clear goals for each revision session and assign a timescale in which to achieve them. As a result, you can reduce anxiety, reassure that you have taken all your necessary steps and increase your motivation to sit down and learn. Secondly, I recommend taking breaks periodically. This would mean that your concentration is better and you find yourself retaining more information than if you try to revise with an over- tired mind that does not remember what it just read. Lastly, it is also important to stay calm and posi...

know about their achievements, goals or other important things, than read about how they spend their holidays in the resort or with whom they go to the football match. Newspapers should offer more serious information, that readers may fill their minds with some necessary and interesting facts. Futhermore, newspaper`s journalists should focus on facts and checked information, not on gossips, that people are available to rely on newspaper`s articles. On the other hand, magazines are more focused on social news of famous people`s lifes. In general, magazines offer information about famous people’s personalaties and private lifes, because the magazine’s goal is entertain readers and nowaday people are fond of famous people life details, despite embarrassing or untrue things. Above all, being in a control of your time will lead to increased self-confidence and peace of mind and, best of all, with a bit of self-discipline and thought it can be achieved by anyone. How you use your diary is clearly a key element in effective time management. If properly used, your diary can keep you organised and focused on the key events well in advance. A key component of time management and one often ignored is the whole area of punctuality. How can you ensure you are never late? For example, you could automatically add extra time to all journeys. If you are early for a meeting you can always use the time to catch up on business reading, preparation for other meetings, pending file and so on. Here are the four elements of the Four Point Time Driver approach: 1

Enviromental problems

interference with the environment causes problems such as soil erosion, global warming and acid. You may ask how we as individuals can have an impact on the environment. Our actions can help to increase the problems highlighted above. For example turning off lights that are not being used helps to reduce global warming. Until recently, concern about the environment revolved almost exclusively around local and national problems. Over the past two decades, however, scientists have increasingly focused attention on more far-reaching environmental threats, such as global warming, ozone depletion, and deforestation that transcend national boundaries. A new concept global environmental problems has entered the public arena, especially in the area of foreign policy and economic matters. So you could press one or two buttons to call up your television in any form of video-releated entertainment you desire, which allows you to sit on one's couch. The internet's invasion of the living room marks so called third era of television. The first era arrived in middle of the last century and in 1980s cable televison ushered in the second era by using copper wires bundled into coaxial cables to transmit hundreds more channels into the home. Network TV was financed exclusively by commercials aand cable networks collected a fee per customer per month. Thinking Strategically

It is the preeminent low-cost air carrier in the United States, providing air transportation service between more than 60 American airports. Founded in 1971, the mission of the company was simple – make it less expensive to fly than to drive between two points. At first glance, Southwest's approach did not seem like a recipe for success. They did not cater flights, did not offer seat assignments, used less central airports, and focused only on point-to-point travel. But Southwest's strategy was not to imitate the big airlines; it was to create a new market – short-haul air transport. The airline specifically targeted price-sensitive customers, and kept ticket prices low by keeping costs low. Southwest's success comes from identifying its critical success factors (CSFs) and developing its business strategy around them. The company's CSFs include:  lowest fares in the marketplace

Should class attendance be mandatory for university students?

themselves, so compulsory classes would be an inconvenience for them. What good does a student who doesn’t even want to be in a lecture do? Besides, even students in university, not to mention secondary school, who find a class boring or unsolicited, can be extremely distracting to their peers who are indeed looking to educate themselves. This is a loss for both ends as unmotivated students get even more frustrated and the ones focused are forced to learn in a disruptive environment. In conclusion, there are pros and cons to both obligatory and optional class attendance but all things considered, it seems that the merits of selective attendance overweigh the alternative as college-aged students should be able keep themselves on the right path on their own. As the exceptions remain, problematic students should consider their options and contemplate, whether university is the right place for them.

Summary - IT in motorsport

I chose this topic because I am an infotechnology student and also I have been rally driver since 2009. I believed this could be interesting topic for others to hear because you can’t really find much information about the technologies used in different motorsport disciplines from the Internet but you can learn about them usually when somebody tells you about those technologies. Because I’m a rally driver and I know most about rallying I focused on rally and in addition talked little bit about Formula One and also about simulators. Most of the information I used to make this presentation was based on my personal experience. In addition, I found some interesting technologies which are used in Formula One from the Internet. Most interesting hi-tech solutions used in rally are in my opinion ride height control with GPS and launch control which is synced with start clock. First means that the height of a car’s

We're being thoughtless about our children's needs and future. Each of us needs to demand that our elected officials set much higher fuel- efficiency standards. 8. Demand Better Transportation Planning --- Right now, most government transportation managers are focused on building more roads and highways. They are not promoting wiser, healthier, more efficient transportation methods. Each of us needs to demand that our elected officials support alternative, better transportation methods, as well as strict landuse zoning to reduce urban sprawl. 9. Harmful effects on the eye caused by smart devices

Blue light can cause different eye diseases. One of the diseases is „Dry eye syndrome“. Dry eye syndrome is a collection of symptoms which are caused by a lack of or low quality of the tear fluid. This can not be completely cured but it can be prevented by resting the eyes after every half an hour when using smart devices. Another disease which can be caused by the blue light radiation is Macular Degeneration Disease. Macula is located in retina and the image that is focused on the retina is the sharpest in macula. This is the reason why macula can not be damaged at all to have a correct visual acuity. Blue light damages the light-sensitive cells in retina. Macular degeneration disease can lead to permanent loss of eyesight. Both of these diseases can not be cured but it is possible to prevent them. The best prevention would be to avoid the use of smart devices. If there is a need to look at the screen for longer

St. Charles Church (Kaarli kirik)

It is known to be the first fresco in Estonia made by an ethnic Estonian, Johann Köler, who completed the painting in 10 days on July 23, 1879. The oldest parts of the church are the tower bells. The north tower bell is a gift from the Swedish king Charles XII from 1696, it is the only remainder of the first wooden church. The southern tower bell is a donation by businessman I. E. Steinberg from 1870. Today, the church is mainly focused on raising funds to renovate their famous Walcker organ, originally insatalled in 1924. It is Estonias largest and only organ with 3 manuals and 32 pedal string registers. It is also known to be one of the most valuable historical organs in the whole Europe.

The bad habits I have highlighted or any other you feel you have got try not to do that again. Keep yourself focused to your goal which should be for betterment of our country Pakistan and betterment of yourself. I am not saying you to remove all of your extra activities keep it with you. Pride and Prejudice Book Report

Dancing seemed to be the only way how women could meet men, which is very unreasonable in my opinion, but what can I do? Women choose men by counting their finances rather than admireing their looks or personalities. Mostly women are shown as desperate ladies, whenever a man was approaching their home, they would go insane-everything had to be perfect, movements and emotions not highly expressed/showed. Most of the discussion between Elizabeth and Jane is focused around the subject of the males yet not in the childish and immature way like their younger sisters'. In my opinion Mr. Darcy was left with too little compassion and gratitude. He basically arranged the marriage of three of Mrs. Bennet's daughters, but wasn't given enough gratitude. Although Ms. Bennet herself didn't know about it, still it should have been obvious, where did the money came then? I found the novel quite amusing sometimes, as the behaviour of Mrs. Bennet was very

Market and marketing

 In increase employment opportunities. For continuous production, continuous marketing is needed. Thus, increased activity provides more job opportunities to many people.  It helps in selling surplus goods to other countries where there is demand for such goods. Beside I would like to talk about features of modern marketing Firstly, consumer orientation: Modern marketing recognizes that the consumer is supreme. The managerial attention is focused on the market and the consumer. Management is now concerned with consumer satisfaction and not profit or sales volume alone. Consumer has become the center of all business decisions. Having satisfied customer is the main aim of modern marketing and profit can be earned only by serving the consumer’s needs. Secondly, modern marketing begins with the consumers: Producers in earlier times had little care for the consumers. Now, production is carried on in large quantity. The manufacturers

Film ''Down by the law''by Jim JArmuch is a black and white comedy/drama/crime. His main idea about the film was to create and develop a style to follow realistic and imperfect characters through familiar environments. The scene begins with a long shot, panoramic view of a city/town called New Orleans, feeling of a old school architecture, swaps and worn down streets are presented to us of surreal and slow paced series of moving shots. Jim JArmuch is focused on the two characters and on a atmosphere of the settings. Two characters that are named Zack and Jack are the opposite personalities by their names, but they are destined to clash against their own personalities. Palm oil Palm oil is a type of edible vegetable oil that is derived from the palm fruit, grown on the African oil palm tree. Oil palms are originally from Western Africa, but can flourish wherever heat and rainfall are abundant. Today, palm oil is grown throughout Africa, Asia, North America, and South America, with 85% of all palm oil globally produced and exported from Indonesia and Malaysia; but most of the time not using sustainable measures. The industry is linked to major issues such as deforestation, habitat degradation, climate change, animal cruelty and indigenous rights abuses in the countries where it is produced, as the land and forests must be cleared for the development of the oil palm plantations. According to the World Wildlife Fund, an area the equivalent size of 300 football fields of rainforest is cleared each hour to make way for palm oil production. This lar...

Increasingly attention has been directed to unintentional regulation of emotions and the ways of measuring the biological responses in ER (Wirtz et al., 2006, Rimmele et al, 2007). Previous research interest in ER was largely focused on intentional- responsive regulation, (Muraven et al 1998; Gross & Levenson 1997; Wegner, Erber & Zanakos 1993) where only intentional responses where recorded, and the data was based mainly on self-reports. Consequently LeDoux (2000) pointed out the need to discover new approaches in emotional research. those are the reasons why feedback chain is virtually non-existent as new generations of product are already under development when the previous ones hit the shelves, people demanding new trinkets ASAP and having a tendency to overestimate the value of multitude of functions, dated standards that are too costly to change and the right time to do so never seems to arrive... DOET is certainly not lacking in examples and in providing those Norman went the path he is promoting - he focused on users: himself, his colleagues, his friends and his students all contributed numerous examples of their struggles and comic encounters with everyday objects. While being one of the strongest illustrative points of the book, these also contribute a great deal to its greatest shortcoming - feeling of repetitiveness. The nature of these examples also is conductive of ruining the structure of the book, it felt that they were largely to blame for the fact oftentimes it

Consumer behavior

RB1X 12.12.2011 the findings of the researchers and the models created, I still feel that further research is needed. Every consumer is an individual and I believe that personality is the most important influence in buying something. And personality is a difficult phenomenon to measure. Mascardo et al. focused on the activities, but not always people decide to go somewhere only based on the activities the destination has to offer. In my case it was adequate, that is why I chose his model and described my decision making process according to it. References Cooper, C. & Gilbert, D. 2008. Film Studies - The Black Dahlia

seems. To make a difference, to give a meaning to the film, film-makers have used different visual and thematic features. There are macro features (genre, narrative) as well as micro features (mise en scene, cinematography) and they are linked together in many ways. I have chosen to analyse the closing sequence of ``The Black Dahlia``, directed by Brian de Palma, and I will focus on macro features in this essay. Brian de Palma is well known director, who is focused on noir area through his career (he was once considered as a Hitchcock imitator) ``The Black Dahlia" can be classified as Film Noir. The genre is called Film Noir due to the `serie noir` books, which were publised in France (bethween 1940s and 1950s). These books were translations of American novels by authors like Dashiel Hammet, Raimond Chandler and James M. Cain. The novels usually talked about a strong, violent hero (anti-hero?) who moves through a corrupt dangerous world

future; instead, the future should be viewed as a continuous unfolding in time that is rooted in both the past and present Temporal Horizons and Spatial Scale Just as forecasts may be geared toward short-, medium-, or long-range futures, so they may correspond to a variety of geographic levels along a spatial scale. Forecasts may cover the globe, entire nations or regions, or may be more narrowly focused on specific cities, neighborhoods or individual parcels. Obviously one forecast can't fit all purposes. Rather, planners should view forecasting as a multi- tiered enterprise in which shorter forecasts might be nested within longer-range ones. 22 Myers, Kitsuse 2000 Constracting the Future in Planning Multiple Temporal Processes- The future is often thought of as comprising the end of a single historical time line

Agatha Christie - The Moving Finger

She had a hard time managing the ''being my brother's shadow'', especially when she came to a knowledge that there are some pretty nice men living in Lymstock. For example, Mr Pye, Aimee Grifith's brother, she tried everything to intimate that she likes him. But Mr Pye was too much focused on the case happening around them, which kept them apart and prolonged their dating. He didn't see what was happening right in front of his eyes until the very end. Luckily, she did reach her happy ending. 2 The Moving Finger

What is integrated care?

Milton Keynes. 6 What is integrated care? There is some emerging evidence of the benefits of integration within the NHS, for example in improving access to care, managing demand and reducing delayed transfers (Ham and de Silva, 2009). However, empirical research on the impact of integrated health systems in respect of clinical outcomes and value for money remains scarce (Armitage and others, 2009), with integration that is largely focused on bringing organisations together unlikely to bring about improvements in care for patients (Alakeson, forthcoming). Although there is some limited evidence that service integration improves clinical outcomes, the impact on costs is more mixed (Ham and de Silva, 2009; Ovretveit and others, 2010). Current policy provides opportunities to extend integrated care, working towards an NHS that is `less insular and fragmented' and facilitating working across health

Nokia Report

some more very interesting things about this corporation. For example I had no idea that Nokia started out as a pulp mill and worked to what it is today a very successful business. The present report introduced this business. The report contained information about Nokia's history and its strategy, vision, products today and Nokia's quality. This information mostly gave an overview of Nokia's strategies and vision of the future of Nokia. The report focused on the basic information about Nokia. Personally I will certainly find out more about this company's history because of its interesting background. There would have been a lot to talk about Nokia so I'm a bit disappointed to write about so few subjects but as I mentioned I chose the topics that were the most interesting to me. 7 REFERENCES Funding Universe. 2006.
