Internet Exploreri veebilehitsejaga ikoonile klikkides avaneb arusaamatu segapuder.

In 2050, according to estimates, there will be nine billion mouths to feed around the world who will demand high quality, nutritious food. On nowdays, we already have problem with lack of food, despite we have only 6 billion mouths to feed. So scientists had to do something. They started to develop GM food. Farmers thought, that GM food is not good enough but when they tested it, they were satisfied. GM food is more resistant to diseases, drought, and other forces of nature and it tastes good. Already, there are a lot of farmers, mostly in developing countries who are using genetically enhanced plants. However, there are still problems with productivity, because it is too low.

species. Lava Cactus: One of the first plants to colonize a new lava field, the Lava Cactus is found on barren black lava flows Iguanas on the Galapagos are either land or marine iguanas. Both are about the same size, growing up to about 1.5m, have stocky heads, a ridge of spiny scales along the neck and backbones. Land iguanas are lighter in color, tan to dark brown, and have shorter scales on the backbone. Land iguanas are inland, lesser in number, and feed on cactus . There are 11 remaining races of the Galapagos Giant Tortoises. They eat grasse, cacti, and other vegetation. They can go for more than a year without drinking or eating. The most famous tortoise from Galapagos is the Lonesome George who was found in 1971 on the island of Pinta. He is the sole survivor of his race. There are four forms of sea turtles living in the Galapagos. Their front legs have modified into flippers for the water

Sustainability aspects of biofuels

The world population is projected to reach 9 billion in 2050, posing more demands on energy, food, and other natural resources. It has been estimated that the world food production needs to double and meat production increase by 85% by 2050 to fulfill projected demand by population (Karp, 2011). In the recent decades, the food consumption in the most populous counties has shifted from grain-based diets to meat and dairy diets. Meat production requires times more biomass in the form of animal feed and that puts further pressures on natural resources. As food production is very energy intensive, it is closely linked to global energy consumption. Global fuel consumption has grown 50-fold since the end of the 20th century and it is projected to increase by another 55% by 2030 (Umbach, 2010). That is the reason why new resources for fuel are being sought and biofuels receive subsidies, and investment in development. In addition, transport

Unusual animals

All kangaroos are herbivores and only eat plants. The biggest enemies of kangaroos are humans. III slaid The Koala is one of Australia's best known animals. It is an icon represented when promoting Australia to the tourist industry. Koalas are mainly found in the south east Australia. Koalas are often referred to as a Koala bear. However they are not a bear. The name Koala comes from an Aboriginal word. It means "no drink", as Koalas get enough fluids through the eucalyptis leaves they feed on. They do not move around much and are only active for about 2 hours of the day. IV slaid The thorny devil lizards, also know as dragon lizards, are a popular example of the Australian lizards that live in the Outback. Despite its dangerous appearance and its name it is one of the least aggressive reptiles. Thorny lizards are heliotherm, meaning they need sunlight to warm themselves up, and their body temperature and agility depends on the outside temperature

Animal farm by George Orwell

Animal farm by George Orwell About One night, all the animals at Mr. Jones Manor Farm assemble in a barn to hear old Major describe a dream he had about a world where all animals live free from the tyranny of their human masters. old Major dies soon after the meeting, but the animals got inspired by his philosophy of Animalism. They plot a rebellion against Jones. Two pigs, Snowball and Napoleon, prove themselves important figures and planners of this dangerous enterprise. When Jones forgets to feed the animals, the revolution occurs, and Jones and his men are chased off the farm. Manor Farm is renamed Animal Farm, and the Seven Commandments of Animalism are painted on the barn wall. The rebellion is a success - The animals complete the harvest and meet every Sunday to debate farm policy. The pigs, because of their intelligence, become the supervisors of the farm. Napoleon, however, proves to be a power-hungry leader who steals

Pessimism vs optimism

a general decline in food production and the law of diminishing returns whereby with higher levels of technology only a small increase in yields would occur. Criticisms to the theory •Too simplistic •Ignores the fact that only the poor go hungry (marxist viewpoint) and that it purely results from the poor distribution of resources. •Malthus did not see the changes in farming technology. e.g. 10,000 sq meters (one hectare) or the size of a football pitch can feed 1000 people for a year (or enough tom feed the world) This is backed up by the fact that in 1992 EU surpluses reached 26 million tonnes. Task: Brainstorm the new technological innovations An OPTIMISTIC approach (Alternative theory)  Ester Boserup (1965) suggested that an increase in population would stimulate technologists to increase food production.  It followed that a rise in population will increase demand for food and therefore

Crime

Though not only murder is a crime. Thievery, rape, arsonism and many more jolly things like that- they are all things that can be placed in a big metal barrel with the word crime written on it in blood. Actually everything illegal belongs there. And those who do it, they should be burned alive. There is no cure for being a thief, arsonist or a murderer. Only death can cure it. It is easy to become a criminal. For example, if you get sacked from your job, yet you have a family to feed, then it is easy to pocket some wallets or purses on the street and sell them. That would be the begining of a most likely long cycle, that usually ends with death or imprisonment. It is not easy to escape that cycle, because once a criminal- allways a criminal! Emu

Emu The information about Emu The emu is the largest bird in Australia. There are three subspecies of emus in Australia. They are soft-feathered, brown and they reach up to 2meters. The feather structure prevents heat from flowing into the skin, permitting Emus to be active during the midday heat. Emus can live between 10 and 20 years. They have long legs and they can sprint at 50 km/h. They feed on a variety of plants and insects and they drink seldom, and they may travel long distances to find food. They are endowed with good eyesight and hearing. Interesting facts Emus ingest stones to grind food in the digestive system. Females can mate several times and lay several batches of eggs in one season People growns emus on farm to get emus meat, feathers and emu oil. Emu fat is rendered to produce oil for cosmetics, dietary supplements, and therapeutic products.

Do we need to come to the museum to do it or is it possible to do the booking through your website? How big can the visiting group be? We have 27 students who are interested in visiting the museum; is that too many or just fine? Since we will probably be coming for the whole day, we need to feed all the students. Do you have a café nearby or do we need to take the food ourselves? I look forward to hearing from you. Your faithfully John Walker 10.12.15

02.2010 Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to draw your attention to problems concerning threats that are connected with fishing. A study shoes that, rather than pollution, fishing appears to be the biggest threat to porpoises. Each year more than 10000 porpoises are killed in the seas around Britain. Fishingboats are using a technique witch consists in leaving the nets on the sea bed for several hours. When porpoises come to feed on the sea bed, they get caught in the nets and drown. There is a need for a research to make nets safer for porpoises. For example, one possibility would be to restrict the length of nets. This should be a duty of marine mammal organisations. Also should be limited the allowed amount of fish to be caught. This should be the duty of The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Naturally it is not possible to forbid fishing but some restrictions can surely be done.

Also the death penalty takes away opportunity to regret those horrible mistakes. Some people can change and would live life properly. But then, some people can't change themselves and they could do same mistakes over and over again. Then it seems right again to punish them with the death penalty. Of course from economical side capital punishment is better than maintaining serious criminals at public expence. Because it is quite expensive to feed and cover those lifetime prisnoners. But the main reason why I agree that capital punishment should be abolished is that when somebody is convicted guilty and later some evidences that prove his or her innosence will come out, but capital punishment is already executed, then it is impossible to bring that human back. It is the worst that can happen.

amazing. Retezat is a place for weekends and also for long staying. Rausor - Pietrele - carnic are turist attracions were you can find camping places, hotels, villas. The most important sights are the mountain peaks and also the lakes. The entire massif is permeated by accessible pathways for all tourists. By purchasing a map of the Retezat Mountains, you will surely manage to orient yourself; the signs and markers are in top notch condition. Due to the great tourist feed, these markers are maintained permanently by the rescue teams. For those who want to explore the pathways and trails, don't wander off without the minimum equipment: hiking boots, raincoat, torch, rucksack, warm clothing. For an enjoyable stay, it is advisable to come equipped with a portable cooking burner and a small gas tube, (you are not allowed to light fire in the park), a sleeping bag and a tent. The industrial revolution

The industrial revolution The Industrial Revolution, which took place from the 18th to 19th centuries, was a period during which predominantly agrarian, rural societies in Europe and America became industrial and urban. By mid-century, many people worked for small businesses or on farms, laboring in fields that would yield barely enough food to feed the family. New inventions and technology began to change that, however. Larger factories opened and produced new farm equipment, such as the steel plow and the tractor, which allowed farmers to cultivate bigger fields and produce more food that cost much less. Developments in the iron industry also played a central role in the Industrial Revolution. In the early 18th century, Englishman Abraham Darby (1678-1717) discovered a cheaper, easier method to produce cast iron, using a coke-fueled (as opposed to charcoal-fired) furnace. In the 1850s, British engineer Henry Bessemer ...

Koidu lemmikuteks said Islandi lugu «Ég á líf"», Norra laul «I Feed You My Love» ning Taani «Only Teardrops». Koit tõdes eilses «Ringvaates», et need lood haakuvad rohkem eestlase maitsemeelega kui näiteks Serbia ja Montenegro eurolooming. Mees oli välja valinud ka laulu, mida oli lihtsalt piin kuulata. Koit sõnas, et üritas lausa kahel korral seda lõpuni kuulata, kuid ei suutnud. Selleks õnnelikuks osutus Bulgaaria eurolugu«Samo Shampion.

Essay: online news and newspapers

Newspaper is exclusive. Only chosen ones can in the newspapers, space is limited and stupid comments below the articles are missing. Instead of these are readers letters, jokes and some famous person´s opinion. There are no advertisements and you don´t have to click anywhere. People are talking a lot about diying newspapers. In 2009 Vockees Media Research made a research, where 293 USA newspapers died because of financial crisis. 230 of them were weekly newspapers. Advertisement, which feed newspapers, is moving in internet. So what happens next? I guess that after 10 years newspapers are dead because of an internet and there is nothing much to do about it..

Are men better directors than women ?

I do not think so. First of all, I would like to say that this tradition is coming not only from history, but from evolution. In nature, masculine representatives of most species are stronger, more agile and aggressive than feminine representatives, because their biological function is to be the main breadwinners and defenders of their families, while females' main functions are to distribute that bread within the family, raise, feed and look after the progeny. Of course there are exceptions like lions (lionesses do hunting which ensures food for their families), seahorses (males bear the eggs) and some others, but in general law of nature is such. So it is not surprising that this law applies for the human beings, but we are truly exceptional species. Our mind that led us through enormous changes in society fetched us to such state of affairs that nowadays many women place their careers first.
