A book worth reading

A book worth reading A year ago I managed to find time to read an extremely profound book entitled The Fault in Our Stars. This tragic, yet realistic drama was written by John Green, a famous author of young-adult fiction, and it provides a valuable insight into the life of children fighting with cancer. The Fault in Our Stars is about a teenage girl Hazel, who has stage 4 thyroid cancer. Hazel’s daily routine contains taking meds, reading books and taking part of the support group meetings for cancer- fighters. In the support group she meets an extraordinarily handsome boy Augustus, who, full of metaphores and mystery, catches Hazel’s attention immediately. As the plot evolves, these two spectacularily appalling figures get close and share unique experiences

Love and forgiveness

Love and forgiveness Is it hard to forgive someone, that you love? Most of the people think that asking for forgiveness makes you look like a loser. In asking for forgiveness you also have to admit you are wrong and people do not like to do that. Nobody wants to be humiliated. In the first place, when someone has insulted you, and the person admits that he has been wrong, then i see no reason why not to forgive him. I think that it is important that the person himself understands his fault. Everyone needs a second chance. Furthermore, you want to forgive someone, who is really related to you. However, you cannot forgive everything. For example, when your girlfriend has cheated on you and when she even do not admit her fault. That is true that everybody needs a second chance, but not when someone uses you malevolently. I think this is unacceptable. On the whole, i think that it is hard to forgive someone, when the person do not admit his

Interaction of the permanent stator flux and the rotor current produces the braking torque. 1.4 When the sensorless vector control is required? Sensorless vector control is beneficial when there is a need to save money on building the drive. With sensorless vector control, costly hardware such as tachometers can be left out from the construction of the drive. 1.5 Call the drive faults you met. How do you avoid and clear these faults? I met the following faults: F004 - UnderVoltage This fault can be avoided by providing a stable source of power to the drive. The manual recommends monitoring the incoming AC line for low voltage or power interruption. Afterwards the error message can be removed by setting parameter A100 Fault Clear to 1 F048 Params Defaulted This fault is ,,intentional" as it is caused by reseting the drive in the end of the lab and commanding it to write the default values to EEPROM. Tess - Guilty or not ?

Tess Guilty or not? I read Thomas Hardy's book called Tess of the D'Urbevilles. The book is about young woman's misfortunes. Those misfortunes lead to many desperate actions but Tess is not quilty of them. The first misadventure which leads to others is when Tess has to go to the market. Tess accidentally kills the horse. She feels guilt but in my opinion it was not her fault because after all it was her father's task not Tess'. Her father could not go because he was too drunk. However, Tess feels like she is responsible and that she has to do something good for her family. In order to compensate her mistake she goes to work for a rich relative in a bird farm. There happens another awful thing she gets pregnant from her so called cousin Alec D' Urberville. Yet again it is not Tess' fault because her mother has

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to complain about the mobile phone which I bought from your store and about your customer service. I bought the phone on 15th September. I was told that the phone has guarantee for 6 months. It worked properly for three weeks. Then it suddenly stopped working, the screen went black and the buttons didn’t function. I immedately phoned your helpline and was told that this was completely my fault and i have to pay extra money for the repair. I think that it is unreasonable that I have to pay for the phone repair because guarantee is 6 months. I also think that in the future you should talk to your employees about their attitude. I would like to get my phone repaired for free. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, xy

There were a bank manager, who was waiting for his coffee, Philip Scott, a waiter Francois Rimbaud and Mavis Biggles, who is a waitress in that cafe. Wealth does not bring happiness. True or false?

Wealth does not bring happiness. True or false? Everybody dreams of being wealthier than they currently are. Obviously it's not only our fault that we do, we get that in media every day. Every single day we see people richer than we'll ever be on television. Some of them surely spend a lot, have fun and tell us how good life is. Others invest their money wisely and never seem to spend a dime. That sort of people are usually older than the wasters. Living in a country with almost 10% of the people unemployed, we're jealous of both. Probably almost every day we catch ourselves on a thought, "I wish I was that rich, I

Although majority of readers do openly embrace this deliverance, to reinstate its validity I would refer to aviation industry, known for continuous reissue of regulations upon the standards to which cockpit and other human-operable equipment should conform after any major accident where "human error" has been detected. They do recognize that the actual fault is with the machinery and that it should have been "designed for error" in the first place. "To err is human" Norman states, and I wholeheartedly agree. Norman, quite interestingly, goes as far as to absolve some designers of their sins, at least partially, demonstrating a great deal of common sense in doing so. The fault is often with the industry, with the society and with the unbending bureaucracy and inertia of the whole civilized mechanism -

bad guys and criminals have no chance. Still, they may have an affect to an audience. Because of the action it consists it can increase humans aggression and finally lead to violence. Secondly, there are also lots of children who watch violent films and get inspired by it. Because little children may be not so smart they will think that all the stunts and crimes can be done easily in life and they want to try it also. That is actually not children fault but it is bad parenting. Always when a child sets itself sitting to watch an action movie there has to be a parent near to explain how actually things work or just not allow to watch movies related to violence. The Atlantic Ocean, which fringes the coastline of western and northern Scotland and its islands, influences the temperate, maritime climate of the country. The topography of Scotland is distinguished by the Highland Boundary Fault a geological rock fracture which traverses the Scottish mainland from Helensburgh to Stonehaven. The faultline separates two distinctively different physiographic regions; namely the Highlands to the north and west and the lowlands to the south and east. The more rugged Highland region contains the majority of Scotland's mountainous terrain, including the highest peak , Ben Nevis. 50,000. Older people are highly vulnerable to diseases induced by air pollution. Those with heart or lung disorders are under additional risk. Children and infants are also at serious risk. Because people are exposed to so many potentially dangerous pollutants, it is often hard to know exactly which pollutants are responsible for causing sickness. Also, because a mixture of different pollutants can intensify sickness, it is often difficult to isolate those pollutants that are at fault. Many diseases could be caused by air pollution without their becoming apparent for a long time. Diseases such as bronchitis, lung cancer, and heart disease may all eventually appear in people exposed to air pollution. Air pollutants such as ozone, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur dioxide also have harmful effects on natural ecosystems. They can kill plants and trees by destroying their leaves, and can kill animals, especially fish in highly polluted rivers. SOLUTIONS

If you are certain your child is being bullied, let the school know that you take it seriously, and ask what can be done to help." Some parents find it embarrassing to learn that their child is being bullied. But a few simple rules make it a lot easier to deal with: · Be a good listener. Stay calm, and give your child plenty of time to tell you how he or she feels. Make it clear it's not your child's fault. Above all, don't suggest your child simply fight back. That may increase your child's chances of further victimization. Some children are nonaggressive by nature, and you can't change that. · Don't overreact. I have never been to Australia. He is always on time. She is sometimes sad. They are usually very helpful. Her grandfather was always happy to see her. It is always cold in February. Word Order in Negative Sentences To form a negative sentence just put not after the auxiliary or modal verb: I am not a fool. John will not come to the party tonight. It was not my fault. You must not cheat. Jennie could not find her glasses. Don’t make all this noise, I cannot stand it any more! NB! Cannot (can’t for short) is spelt as one word in modern English. Use the first auxiliary, if there is more than one: Peter has not been playing much football lately. 6 If there is no modal verb or auxiliary verb in the sentence (Present and Past Simple), use do/does/did + not in front of the main verb

creator. Far from it! He, too, pities Soames, the tragedy of whose life is the very simple, uncontrollable tragedy of being unlovable, without quite a thick enough skin to be thoroughly unconscious of the fact. Not even Fleur loves Soames as he feels he ought to be loved. But in pitying Soames, readers incline, perhaps, to animus against Irene: After all, they think, he wasn't a bad fellow, it wasn't his fault; she ought to have forgiven him, and so on! And, taking sides, they lose perception of the simple truth, which underlies the whole story, that where sex attraction is utterly and definitely lacking in one partner to a union, no amount of pity, or reason, or duty, or what not, can overcome a repulsion implicit in Nature. Whether it ought to, or no, is beside the point; because in fact it never does. And where Irene seems hard and cruel, as in

24.09.2002 Special Uses of Quotation Marks 1. Quotation marks with certain titles we use for: magazines, articles, essays, short stories, short poems, speeches, and chapters of a book. Underlining or italics for these titles: the title of a book, scholary journal, magazine, government report, a play, a musical, an opera, a film, a TV-show, a radio program, and a long poem. 2. We use quotation marks to define words (e.g. As a verb, censure means "find fault with" or "reprimand".). 3. Quotation marks with words and phrases that you do not take at the face value (e.g. When a man and woman decide to live together without being married, are they "living in sin"?). 4. We use quotation marks to identify a word treated as a word (e.g. In America the word "liberal" has become a political insult.). We may also use Italics or underlining for the same purpose. "Anna Karenina" kokkuvõte

He tidies up his farm, tries to forget about Kitty, and spends some time with his brother. Levin seems different when he is at home in the country--more at peace with himself and his decisions. Chapters 28-34 Anna decides she needs to leave Moscow and return to St. Petersburg, where her life is. Anna tells Dolly that she knows she ruined the gala for Kitty by flirting with Vronsky. Yet Anna contends the whole thing really wasn't her fault. Dolly makes an important note at this point: Anna denies blame in the same way Stiva does. This makes Anna, quite frankly, a liar. "'Yes,' Anna went on. 'Do you know why Kitty didn't come to dinner? She's jealous of me.... I've been the cause of that ball being a torture to her instead of a pleasure. But truly, truly it's not my fault, or only my fault a little bit,' she said, daintily drawling the words 'a little bit.'" Anna leaves, laden with shame and guilt

cold, miss-kiss. 16 Incomplete rhymes Derive from modifications of full rhymes. Incomplete vowel rhymes require identical vowels, while consonants are different: world- serve, bulb-skull, pen-best, storm-mourn, balm-path. Consonant rhymes The reverse principle is observed here, consisting of identical consonants and dissimilar vowels, as in: blood-blade, love-live, felt-fault, burn-born, crisp-grasp. Compund rhymes Are made up of two or more words, united by a single stress, that reproduce the sound form of a related word: clamorous- enamour us, women two men, adorer-before her, Verona- known a ..., feter-beset her, grammar-d-n her, bottom-forgot ´em (examples are taken from Byron's ,,Beppo") These rhymes are mainly employed to evoke a humorous response. They also add a colloquial touch to the text. Eye-rhyme (or sight rhyme) A peculiar feature of English rhymes
