Gay Families

They want to legalize gay marriages and many countries allow people of the same gender to marry. Gays want to adobt children too, but people are more against it. Gay marriages are more for that people would accept them and get more used with them. Marriage makes them more equal with straight people and more rights. This helps them adopting children too. It shows, that two people have a great bound and they're able to adobt and raise a child. They may be good parents, but it's going to be a hard life for that child because of his gay parents. And maybe parents would even effect child sexual orientation. Surrounding ideology tells us what is beautiful, wrong, good and so on. So when childs parents are gays, maybe it can effect child too and make him gay. In my opinion gays are good average people, but I d...

Accidents will occur in the best-regulated families

Accidents will occur in the best-regulated families Accidents will occur in the best-regulated families. Firstly, parents don't give attention to their children. So children can do what they want and they dont know if it is good or bad.So can happen many accidents. Many families think that they are perfect. But when some accidents happens they dont understand whay this happened only whit them. And then they maby understand that they didnt give sufficiently attention to their children. English portfolio

The freedom of action in the new provinces was naturally granted to one of the most firm ideological pillars of the tsarist empire -- the Russian orthodox church; though as the Landeskirche in the Estonian and Livonian territories, the Lutheran church long maintained a de facto predominance. The most important organ of Baltic German local government was the Diet, consisting of all the noble families who had been `selected' in a list of the eligible. Although jealously guarding their privileges, the knighthoods still never became entirely closed. Between sessions of a Diet, the legislative power of the knighthoods belonged to the Council of the Diet. The towns were governed by the Town Councils, which supplemented their ranks from among the representatives of merchants and lawyers. The citizens and the inhabitants of a town did not coincide -- most of...

Reporti kirjutamine

The next year the number rose sharply, reaching 460. This was due to the fact that two nearby schools were closed and the students from these schools continued their studies in Simuvere. During the next four years the number was relatively stable. In 1995-1996 there was a slight rise caused by the baby boom in 1988-1989. In 1996 the number was greatest, there were nearly 500 students. However, when the local dairy closed in 1997, many families moved elsewhere and the number went down considerably. In 1998 there were 450 students. To sum up, it can be said that the number of students in Simuvere Gymnasium has changed over the years. In the next years the number will probably continue to decrease gradually as the population of Simuvere grows older. As there is high unemployment, young families will not settle in Simuvere. How to make the world greener

Some scientists predict that we will reach ten billion people count by the year 2050, but who knows, maybe by then we have used up all the irrecoverable resources and have to move half the population to the moon and Mars to start contaminating them also. Countries like China have taken measures to stop the population. A chinese family can only have one child and if they go above the limit they have to pay a fine even though richer families don't care much for that. So even though there's a very big fine about 90´000 families have gone over the limit and are under investigation. If we would all think globally instead of just ourselves or our country, we could keep the population growth under control. Countries who only think of rising their population percentage in the world listings do encourage families in having more children, but if instead of being a patriot of your country, why not be a patriot of the World?...

Famous castles of Scotland

It is Scotland's second most visited tourist attraction. Human habitation of the site is dated back as far as the 9th century BC. As it stands today though, few of the castle's structures pre-date the Lang Siege of the 16th century, with the notable exception of St Margaret's Chapel, the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh, which dates from the early 12th century. As with all castles, Edinburgh's fortress has been a centre of military activity. As an ancient fortress Edinburgh Castle is one of the few that still has a military garrison, albeit for largely ceremonial and administrative purposes. The New Barrack Block is now home to the official headquarters of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and 52 Infantry Brigade, as well as home to the regimental museum of the Royal Scots and Royal Scots Dragoon Guards....

Education

Can't win 'em all, or predict. Some kids rebel no matter what. If we try our best to raise virtuous, well behaved, thoughtful offspring, and they nonetheless become sociopaths, vulgar ingrates -- then it is sad, but not something we could foresee or help. Sometimes peer pressure, or odd brain chemistry, or some trauma, warps our kids beyond reach. It's just tragic. But likewise, sometimes out of the ashes of broken families , and from squalid conditions, angelic children grow up. Against all odds, some kids grow to be excellent adults, in ways that amaze us. I once asked a woman who's raised about a dozen kids if she had happy returns with all. "No," she replied, "some did well, others didn't." Same with the kids I grew up with. Isn't it fairly obvious? I say do the best you are able in raising your kids, as in anything else, but don't...

Irish Potato Famine

Irish Potato Famine During the 19th century, 2/3 of the Irish people lived in very poor conditions under the British rule they had to work for upper-class English landlords, who never set foot in Ireland. The work was to raise crop for a tiny piece of land (most of tenants had less than an acre) where they could grow food (potatoes) for their own families . Potatoes were grown because they have all the necessary vitamins in them and only the potatoes would suffice to feed a family when grown on such tiny holdings. In 1845 a fungus, called Phytophthora infestans (commonly known as potato blight) attacked the potato crop and destroyed half of it. Yet, this was not a catastrophe and people would pray for the next years' crop to be a proper one but it was even worse and on top of that, the winter of 1846 was the "severest in living memory"...

Lake Kaali is one of the best-preserved meteorite craters in Europe, formed 3,500 years ago. Vilsandi National Park protects the ecosystem with its seabirds and coastal plant communities. A Midsummer Nights Dream

Set in a magical forest, the play is all about match making and infidelity, mischief and romance. All of the characters are strong and have wonderful personalities.I would really recommend this book to anyone trying to get into Shakespeare or anybody fed up of reading books about modern London, and breaking-up families . Any student studying Shakespeare should read this as it is a nice book to start with and an easy way of getting to know Shakespeare. Conclusion At first it was a bit difficult to remember the relations between people, who was in love with who,but later I got used to it.After reading the book it made me want to see the play on the stage.I imagine that seeing it may be even more amusing than reading it.For me the book was something worth reading and I will do it again someday....

Meals and cooking

For a change they can have a boiled egg, cold ham, or fish. English people generally have lunch about one o'clock. At lunch time in a London restaurant one usually finds a mutton chop, or steak and chips, or cold meat or fish with potatoes and salad, then a pudding or fruit to follow. Afternoon tea can hardly be called a meal. It is a substantial meal only in welltodo families . It is between five and six o'clock. It is rather a sociable sort of thing, as friends often come in then for a chat while they have their cup of tea, cake or biscuit. In some houses dinner is the biggest meal of the day. But in great many English homes, the midday meal is the chief one of the day, and in the evening there is usually a much simpler supper -- an omelette, or sausages, sometimes bacon and eggs and sometimes just bread and cheese, a cup of coffee or cocoa and fruit....

Christmas

Christmas By Xxxx Xxxx Nowadays, Christmas is celebrated almost world-wide. It's a global time of peace for all who believe in the magic of it. Overworked people treasure days that bring rest and recreation and allow them to meet their families and friends. They appreciate days when they give and receive gifts - the evidence of friendship, of remembrance and love. A time when it feels good to give, when anger is forgotten, when heaven becomes a place on earth for a moment. We tend to think of Christmas as a time for children, but what if Christmas gives each of us the opportunity to be the child? To have wise men bring priceless gifts to us, to be held by an adoring mother and father, to feel that everything will be okay...

Connecting Ideas Logically and Effectively

UNIT 6 Connecting Ideas Logically and Effectively The aim of the section is to assist you to produce an effective topic outline: a skeleton of your document. If this stage of the production process is done properly all you really need are the language control techniques to connect your ideas logically and effectively. If you have a well documented list of techniques to connect your ideas effectively the writing process is less formidable. You will want to know how to join similarities, compare and contrast certain facts, introduce the next topic, offer a supporting idea, or refer to previously presented facts. You will also need to know how to present different shades of argument to produce logically a recommendation you wish to make. This requires an ability to emphasise certain facts and 'bury' others. However, all facts need to be linked to give a logical flow. This unit will give you language practice in...

Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet The story concerns two noble families of Verona, the Capulets and the Montagues, that have feuded for generations. The prologue also explains that the lovers' tragic suicides "[bury] their parents' strife." R & J are star-crossed lovers it means, that they can never be happy together and they rather die before they live without each other. The action starts with a street-battle between the two families, started by their servants and put down by the Prince of Verona, Escalus. The Prince declares that the heads of the two families (known simply as "Montague" and "Capulet") will be held personally accountable for any further breach of the peace, and disperses the crowd. Count Paris, a young nobleman, talks to Capulet about marrying his thirteen-year-old daughter, Juliet. Following the Battle of Hastings, the invading Normans and their descendants formed a distinct population in England. They later spoke what became the Anglo-Norman language. The Norman Conquest of England initiated a chain of events which started to move the Kingdom of Scotland away from its originally Gaelic cultural orientation. By the late 13th century, groups of Norman and Anglo-Norman families had been given Scottish lands. The invasion was peaceful. *The Scottish Wars of Independence 1286-1371 The Wars of Scottish Independence were a series of military campaigns fought between Scotland and England. The First War began with the English invasion of Scotland and ended with the signing of the Treaty of Edinburgh-Northampton. The Second War began with the English-supported invasion of Edward Baliol and ended with the signing of the Treaty of Berwick. The wars were part of a...
