At the end of the year the Supreme Council of the Republic of Estonia decided to guarantee the construction of a new building for the Art Museum of Estonia in Kadriorg. Untill then the Knighthood House at Toompea Hill served as the temporary main building of the Art Museum of Estonia. The exhibition there was opened on April 1, 1993. Art Museum of Estonia premanently closed down the exhibitions in that building in October 2005. At the end of the 1970s, in the 1980s the first branches of the Art Museum of Estonia were founded. Starting from the 1995 all the branches offer different educational programmes for children and young people. passage facing Pikk street. The Great Guild Hall The wind vane and coat of arms In the 19th century, the Guild Hall's windows were remodelled in the neo-gothic style and the interior of the building was renovated. It was decorated with prominent neo-gothic doors. Originally the house consisted of two spacious halls. The grand hall was the largest hall in Tallinn used for secular purposes. The Great Guild Hall became one of the most important concert and exhibition venues in town. In the 18th century, the Great Guild began to rent out its facilities for public events. Throughout the centuries, the most varied array of events has taken place there. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the Great Guild Hall hosted popular wine cellar known as Das Süsse Loch ("Sweet Hole"). During the 19th century the building, then known as the Stock Exchange, was used not only for business but also as a lively arts venue. The Great Guild’s summer celebrations

Tallinn

The earliest data on St. Olav's Church come from 1267. Little is known about the building of this Gothic style church and its early years. Church of the Holy Ghost is the only sacred building from the 14th century in Tallinn that has preserved its original form. The simple, humble Church of Holy Ghost was completed in the 1360's, but for the exception of the baroque spire, it has retained its original medieval exterior. Tallinn City Museum's exhibition covers the history of the city from the 13th century to the 1990's. Located in the home of a medieval merchant in the heart of the Old Town, the City Museum introduces Tallinn with a completely new, attractive permanent exhibition, which is called "The City Which will Never be Completed". Kadriorg Palace The Kadriorg Art Museum Peter I began building the palace in 1718, and it was called Ekaterinenthal, or Catherinenthal, in honour of Catherine I. It is

Why do we learn the English language?

But it is difficult to visit countries, when you don´t know the language of these countries. If I know the language of the country, where I am going to, it will be easy to travel there. I lke to read books. And I like to read newspaper too. If I know, for example, English I´ll be able to read ,,The Morning Star". I know, that it is a very popular newspaper. Knowledge of foreign languages helps us to develop friendship and understanding among the people. For example, we have a foreign exhibition in Moscow. If I know a foreign language, it is easy for me to visit this exhibition. If I want to ask something, I can do it in English. You can see a lot of advertisements, signboards, names in the street. They are in foreign languages. Very often they are in English. If you know English, you can read and understand them. Now we buy many dresses from other countries. If you know English well, you can read something about size of this or that thing

Favourite Cartoon Character: Spiderman

Spiderman Stan Lee created Spiderman in 1962. Spiderman is also known as Atomic Hero. A spider that has accidentally received a dose of radioactivity bit Peter Parker, a schoolboy, while attending a science exhibition. As a result, Peter acquires the agility and proportionate strength of an arachnid. He sews his own super hero uniform and uses his scientific knowledge to build mechanical devices that eject sticky webbing, but he is less interested in fighting crime than in making a buck.

KUMU – Art Museum of Estonia

The construction of Kumu stretched on for a long period and, during this time, the concept of the museum also changed: the building that had initially been planned as a national gallery became a museum that functions on two levels: collections of Estonian art starting from the early 18th century are displayed on the third and fourth floors, and a modern art gallery is on the fifth floor. Art predating World War II is exhibited on the third floor; the fourth floor houses an exhibition of works from the period of Soviet occupation. On Kumu's fifth floor, there are exhibitions of contemporary art from Estonia and abroad. It is Kumu's ambition to constantly participate in the Estonian and international art worlds, to which a contribution is made by the 250 seat auditorium, with its film programme, performances, concerts, seminars and conferences, the educational centre, with programmes and courses directed at various age groups, and the library, with the

Dear Ms

Dear Ms. Smith My name is John Walker, I am a secretary of Science Club in our college. I have seen your advertisement about our local museum and I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about organising a group visit to it. I think that it will be a very interesting and informative event for students, after all, you don't get to see such an exhibition like "the next 100 years" every day. Therefore, if you are interested in our visit, I have some questions about the booking. Where can we make a reservation for our group? Do we need to come to the museum to do it or is it possible to do the booking through your website? How big can the visiting group be? We have 27 students who are interested in visiting the museum; is that too many or just fine? Since we will probably be coming for the whole day, we need to feed all the students

Essay about museums

Nowadays there are many museums in every country and almost in every city. Despite that people still do not visit museums as much as doing other activities. What might be the reasons of this? There are certain arguments in favour of visiting museums. The first important advantage of museums is that it educates and broadens your mind. For example, when you go to visit the exhibition, you learn more about the painter and the story behind the picture. Another advantage of museums is that it represents the country. As a result tourists become more aware of our country. On the other hand, there are people who are against of visiting museums. The main drawback of this is that museums cost a lot of money. As a result, many people can not afford to go to the museum. Another disadvantage of visiting museums is that they might be boring. Therefore it is a waste of money and time.

Letter of Protest

First of all, the teachers of the studio are offering to tutor many possible artists. That way the new skills are guaranteed to be learned. In Addition, the studio is located in an easily accessible area and it is open 24 hours a day, so that students from all over the city can attend the art department anytime they want. Furthermore, young talents can exhibit their creations in the studio. Also, there are many necessary facilities that can be used in various situations, such as having an art exhibition, where all the students can show their greatest masterpieces. To sum up, it is believed that the art studio is extremely important to many young artists. Therefore we are ready to put our foot down and do not hesitate to organize a protest march against closing the studio. I hope that the art department will consider our request and do not close down the art studio. Yours sincerely Mari Mets

Summary of Tower Bridge

The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. The bridge's present colour dates from 1977 when it was painted red, white and blue for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Originally it was painted a chocolate brown colour. The Tower Bridge in London remains one of the more popular tourist attractions in the city. In 1982, the upper walkway of the Tower Bridge London was opened to the public as an exhibition. The walkway was paved, the enclosed area lined with pictures and information about the Tower Bridge History. Views from atop the Tower Bridge London are incredible, and the windows have even been designed to allow tourists to take pictures from behind the glass without interference .

Monument to the Conquerors of Space!

Out of some 350 proposals, the design by sculptor A.P. Faidysh-Krandievsky and architects A.N. Kolchin and M.O. Barshch was chosen. The grand opening of the monument took place on October 4, 1964, on the day of the 7th anniversary of the Sputnik 1 launch. Since the 1960s, this part of Moscow in general has had a high concentration of space- themed sights and names: besides the monument and the museum under it, the grand "Cosmos" pavilion in the Exhibition Centre displayed many artifacts of the Soviet space program. Many streets in the area have been named after the precursors of the space program (Nikolai Kibalchich, Friedrich Zander, Yuri Kondratyuk) and its participants (Sergey Korolyov). The monument was designed to accommodate a museum in its base. However, it took until April 10, 1981 (two days before the 20th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight) to complete the preparatory work and open the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics.

Sellest järeldas ta, et ka puhtalt värvidemänguga on võimalik vaatajale mõju avaldada. Tema arvates pidi kunst olema võrdne muusikaga, mille helid ju ka midagi ei kujuta.. Regrettably, the first three compositions were destroyed during World War II. They are represented in the exhibition by full-scale, black-and-white photographic reproductions. One of the strengths of the exhibition is the assembly of preliminary studies for most of the works. These were done in oil, watercolor, ink and pencil. These help convey a sense of the three lost compositions, but cannot hope to replace the actual canvasses. The viewer is left with a profound feeling of loss for the destroyed works. John Constable

John Constable 1776-1837 Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows Constable is famous for his landscapes, which are mostly of the Suffolk countryside, where he was born and lived. He made many open-air sketches, using these as a basis for his large exhibition paintings, which were worked up in the studio. His pictures are extremely popular today, but they were not particularly well received in England during his lifetime. He did, however, have considerable success in Paris. Sailsbury Cathedral from the Meadows was painted by John Consatble in 1831, one year after his wife's death. He later added nine lines from ,,The Seasons" by 18th Century poet James Thomson that reveal the painting's

Islami meditsiin keskajal

Islami meditsiin keskajal Keskaegne islami meditsiin oli mõjutatud mitmetest eelnevatest meditsiini traditsioonidest. Näiteks Muhamedi aegsest araabia meditsiinist, hellenismi unani meditsiinist, Hippocratese ja Galeni õpetustest, India Ayurvedast ja Pärsia meditsiinist (eriti Gunsishapuri akadeemia). Islami traditsioonis peetakse esimeseks moslemi arstiks Muhamedi ennast.

So you don't think everybody should have the right to strike? 8.4 Strongly argued questions with "Why" Why have we got to create large institutional families? If people decide to have children, then they should value family life. Why should other people pay for the exhibition of junk which nobody wants? But you're already paying for the NHS through national insurance. Why should you have to insure yourself twice? Once the level of the benefit is higher than their take-home pay, why should they do a job? Why shouldn't those who cause air and noise pollution do something to reduce it? ... if mountainous countries like Japan can export good cars, why shouldn't they import their food?

The International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, nii kõlas näituse nimi, oli tõeline segu erinevatest stiilidest.
