factories to do “internships."  Some factories promise workers a 10- minute break after every two hours of work.  Most workers never have benefited from these promises.  After the work shift, there's another work assembly that lasts 15 minutes.  Even during the 30-minute lunch period, workers must return to the shop floor early to resume production or to attend another meeting. They're not paid for the time spent in these meetings or assemblies.  Workers endure long hours six to seven days a week.  The overtime work is up to 200 hours a month, which is more than five times the legal limit.  Female workers rarely get maternity leave, and with extreme hours and no childcare facilities they often cannot take care of their kids.  Many women are forced to send their children to live with family in the countryside.  Toy production involves close contact with chemicals that are incredibly harmful to the workers' health.

Should mercy killing be punished? Mercy killing, also known as euthanasia, refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. This type of killing is legal in some countries, but should it be punished instead? Although, it is still a type of killing, it is for a good cause. There are people who suffer and want to rather die than to endure agonies, euthanasia is an answer for them. Thus, mercy killing is very humane and reasonable thing to do and does not deserve punishment. The negative aspect of euthanasia is that it is still a form of killing. One should not be in judge over others life, even when it is for a good cause. The fact that euthanasia could be misused is not less important. In conclusion, although mercy killing is a form of taking someone’s life, it should not be punishable when it is for greater good.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of City and Country Living

However, some people, who approves living in country still lives in city. Cure for going against their wishes is that some people decorates their apartment or house with paintings of peaceful and bright-colored landscapes as it brings not only a sense of artistic consciousness to their home, but also makes them feel cosy and allows them to at least temporarily forget about daily routine and pollution, crime (especially in bigger, crowded cities) and noise they have to endure when they go outside. I'd say that it is disadvantages for living in a city. On the other hand advantages of living a city life are easier communication, access to stores and entertainment and possibility to get a good-earning job, which I prefer. Also your it is a good chance that your social circle can expand here, but in country people live far from each other and don't see so often new faces like in city.

Are young people living in Estonia patriots of their homeland?

Are young people living in Estonia patriots of their homeland? To begin with, it would be a good idea to explain who patriots actually are. They are people whose public conducts are regulated by one single motive - the love of their homeland. When speaking of patriotism, already The Constitution of Estonian Rebublic states that the main aim of our country is to assure that our nation, language and culture will be preserved. Many people have argued whether young Estonians are patriots of their homeland or not and there have been many different answers to that question. One the one hand, young Estonians are very supportive and helpful when there is a crisis situation in our country. For example, in case of the disturbances in April 2007, young men where ready to go as voluntaires to protect our country. Also, more an more young people are interested in taking part in the Song and Dance Festivals. Where they can wear our ...

In winter, the minimum temperature is -43,5°C and in summer the maximum temperature is +35,2°C. It is difficult sometimes because Estonians have endure the big changes of temperature. That is why we are so adaptable. The wettest period in Estonia is September and there are many thunderstorms in August. Sometimes the weather is so unpredictable that people cannot plan their oudoor activities. Estonia is small but wonderful country. Estonians have own traditions, customs and their way of life. They are very proud of their country.

Books are not absolutely dead things

Books have caused big conflicts. From the past, we know a lot of cases, in which the books have been burnt and the writers been killed. That shows clearly, that books are not absolutely dead things. But I think that, no one should be killed or punished because of expressing their thoughts. If people criticise and say negative arguments about something, then it is clear, that something is wrong and must be changed. But we know that many of us do not endure criticism and therefore punish them, who actually want good. Definitely, one of the positive argument is, that reading of any book does not make us dumber. All books give you some kind of information and knowledge. They teach you, they may give you advice, they are like teachers and instructors. I believe that books have saved people's lives. For example, if you are desperate and thinking of ending your life, you can get consolation from book. It is like a good friend of yours, like psychologist

The whole group of travellers sat far apart from each other. They each sat in different rows and in the middle seats. When arriving to the plane, the flight attendants said they could do nothing about it. Although he was accompanied by his grandfather on the plane, my underaged, 14 year-old son had to endure the flight in the middle of strangers. How is possible that all the companions were separated from each other? They bought their tickets together, and furthermore – how can they separate a 14-year old from his guardian? As a parent, I was very nervous. As well as my travelling child. He felt uncomfortable the duration of the flight. Anni Sandra Varblane Text Analysis 1 Pille Põiklik October 8, 2013 She Set a Path for a Modern-Day Woman Jordan Baker did not play a primary character in The Great Gatsby and she definitely did not start out as the most likeable one, yet oddly enough, she ended up being my favourite. The reason for that is simple: she portrayed a present-day woman who might have been vain, and at times, careless but she was also fairly independent and knew how to take care of herself in a world where women were thought of as nothing more than merely housewives. I truly respect the qualities she possessed, even tho...

Percy Bysshe Shelley

PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY (04.08.1792-08.07.1922) P.B.Shelley on maailmakirjanduse suurimaid vabaduslaulikuid, kelle veendumuskindlus, revolutsiooniline kirglik vaimustus ja prohvetlikud tulevikunägemused on avaldanud suurt mõju hilisemale ingiskeelsele luulele. Ta unistas intellekti püsivast ja süvenevast liidust ilu ja armastusega, mis pidi tema arvates juhatama inimkonna maisest hädaorust täiuslikuma tuleviku poole. Koos Byron'i ja Keats'iga viis Shelley inglise lüürika kõrgusteni, milleni see polnud küündinud Shakespeare'i ajast saadik. "The case for socialism"

Better educated men and women, freed from the bonds of social subservience, would see more clearly the society in which they wished to live and guide more firmly the conduct of democratic policy by which alone their hopes can slowly be established in the practice of the nation. Economic planning and social equality are the ideas upon whose slow growth the purification of our social order chiefly ends. Before we can gather harvests or walk through open doors, we mus fight, endure and win this war. Victory is essential to social progress for two reasons. In the first place a continuity of our national freedom is a necessary condition for the healthy development of our society. Secondly we must preserve our democratic form of goverment if our community is to secure a richer life for all its members. Democracy and socialism in Great Britain Practical political discussion in Britain to-day centres upon two questions. Can we prevent another European War

miserable. Friends are often more a trouble than a comfort in Wodehouse stories: the main character is typically being placed in a most painful situation just to please a friend. Antagonists (particularly rivals in love) are frequently terrifying, and just as often get their come-uppance in a delicious fashion. Although his plots are on the surface formulaic, Wodehouse's genius lies in the tangled layers of comedic complications that the characters must endure to reach the invariable happy ending. Typically, a relative or friend makes some demand that forces a character into a bizarre situation that seems impossible to recover from, only to resolve itself in a clever and satisfying finale. The layers pile up thickly in the longer works, with a character getting into multiple dangerous situations by mid- story. An outstanding example of this is Code of the Woosters where most of the

When I was in grad school in Boston, a friend came to visit from New York. On the subway back from the airport she asked "Why is everyone smiling?" I looked and they weren't smiling. They just looked like they were compared to the facial expressions she was used to. If you've lived in New York, you know where these facial expressions come from. It's the kind of place where your mind may be excited, but your body knows it's having a bad time. People don't so much enjoy living there as endure it for the sake of the excitement. And if you like certain kinds of excitement, New York is incomparable. It's a hub of glamour, a magnet for all the shorter half-life isotopes of style and fame. Nerds don't care about glamour, so to them the appeal of New York is a mystery. People who like New York will pay a fortune for a small, dark, noisy apartment in order to live in a town where the cool people are really cool. A nerd looks at that deal and sees only: pay a

Summary: Chapter IV As they ride through the streets of Paris in the taxi, Jake kisses Brett, but she tells him to stop. They love one another, but Brett refuses to have a romantic relationship because Jake cannot have sex. Brett laments their fate, saying that she is now paying for all the "hell" she has made men endure. Jake disingenuously remarks that he finds his war wound funny and rarely thinks about it. As they head to a café to drink, Brett asks Jake to kiss her once more before they arrive. At the café, Jake and Brett again run into their friends. A man called Zizi introduces them to Count Mippipopolous, a Greek man who takes an immediate interest in Brett. The effect of the Black Death on the Peasants' Revolt and the decline of the manor system cannot be denied. With the resulting labor shortage and wage increase, the peasants began to realize that they were important in society. The Black Death was caused by fleas carried by rats that were very common in towns and cities. *The Peasants' War 1381 The peasants resented the continuous oppression of the poor and the restrictions they were forced to endure. Also, the Black Death effected the Peasants' Revolt. With the resulting labor shortage the peasants began to realize that they were important in society. The rebellion spred quickly and the houses of lords were attacked and documents of slavery and tax were burned. This is significant because these documents registered the rights of the serfs and obligations. Paljud kõnnivad üle su südame, aga on üks, kes sinna oma jäljed jätab. Mu armastuse garantii on igavene. Jumal andis meile kaks silma et näha, kaks kõrva et kuulda, kaks kätt et tunda, kuid miks andis Jumal meile ühe südame?Sellepärast, et teise me ise ülesse leiaks. lase end õhku, õhus on armastus! Väiksena mängisin tikkudega, sain vastu sõrmi, kuna see pidi valus olema, nüüd aga mängisin armastusega, isegi kui keegi ei keelanud oli see siiski valus. Armastus ühendab endas kõik inimese head omadused. Pilgud on esimesed armastuskirjad. Armastus sünnib pilgus, kasvab suudluses ja sureb pisarais. Armastus on kõ...

A pair of young researchers, Elliot Aronson and Judson Mills, decided to test their observation that "persons who go through a great deal of trouble or pain to attain something tend to value it more highly than persons who attain the same thing with a minimum of effort." The real stroke of inspiration came in their choice of the initiation ceremony as the best place to ex- amine this possibility. They found that college women who had to endure a se- verely embarrassing initiation ceremony in order to gain access to a sex discussion group convinced themselves that their new group and its discussions were ex- tremely valuable, even though Aronson and Mills had rehearsed the other group members to be as "worthless and uninteresting" as possible. Different coeds who went through a much milder initiation ceremony or went through no initiation at

He still had his head in his hands. I tried to speak in a normal voice. "And you have to leave now?" "Yes." He raised his face; it was serious for a moment, and then his mood shifted and he smiled. "It's probably for the best. We still have fifteen minutes of that wretched movie left to endure in Biology -- I don't think I could take any more." I started. Alice -- her short, inky hair in a halo of spiky disarray around her exquisite, elfin face -- was suddenly standing behind his shoulder. Her slight frame was willowy, graceful even in absolute stillness. He greeted her without looking away from me. "Alice." "Edward," she answered, her high soprano voice almost as attractive as his. "Alice, Bella -- Bella, Alice," he introduced us, gesturing casually with his hand, a wry smile on

wishes. Chapter 51 Their sister's wedding day arrived; and Jane and Elizabeth felt for her probably more than she felt for herself. The carriage was sent to meet them at ----, and they were to return in it by dinner-time. Their arrival was dreaded by the elder Miss Bennets, and Jane more especially, who gave Lydia the feelings which would have attended herself, had she been the culprit, and was wretched in the thought of what her sister must endure. They came. The family were assembled in the breakfast room to receive them. Smiles decked the face of Mrs. Bennet as the carriage drove up to the door; her husband looked impenetrably grave; her daughters, alarmed, anxious, uneasy. Lydia's voice was heard in the vestibule; the door was thrown open, and she ran into the room. Her mother stepped forwards, embraced her, and welcomed her with rapture; gave
