War and peace

They wanted Nasser destroyed and removed.By August 1956 the British and the French were holding meetings to discuss a possible seizure of the Suez canal by force. The French wanted the Israelis to join their side but it would have been a problem because the Brits had a treaty with Jordan. However, when they found out that Israelis weren't intending to attack Jordan any time soon, the Brits, French and Israelis decided to join their forces against Egypt and started to make plans. Israel would attack Egypt and the French and the Brits would send troops into the Suez canal under the excuse of keeping the two sides under apart and the canal open for shipping. In a later made plan the Brits were also supposed to destroy the Egyptian air force so the Egyptians couldn't bomb Israel. Soon the Egyptians were defeated and the Brits and French ordered the Egyptians and the Israelis to no fight withing 16 km of the canal.

Things were pretty same in temple records on papyrus in Ancient Egypt. The earliest discovered private archives were kept at Ugarit (which is located in today's Syria). Besides inventories, texts of myths may have been standardized for teaching new scribes. Private or personal libraries made up of nonfiction and fiction books first appeared in Greece. Anthropology and Tourism

Anthropology of Tourism Madli Tuvike Wilson & Little, 2005; The Gutsy Traveler, 2013). Therefore, the first problem for tourism while dealing with female solo travellers would be lack of space and place for female tourists, especially in male dominated countries, for instance, like Egypt. To provide these specific criteria’s would be easy only in the one half of the world, where the other half would be abusing female presence. In Egypt, females (locals and travellers) are abused verbally as well as physically (The New York Times, 2013). The reason for that is behind culture norms, many female travellers have written countless blogs about how they felt harassed while their trip in Egypt. How they tried to be polite and follow local customs, but they were still followed at the streets by Egyptian men (Young adventuress, 2012). Local women need permissions/escorts for even walking in the streets (The New York Times, 2013)

Enamus inimesi kandis jämeda- toimelisemast kangast riideid, kuid väga elegantsed olid noortest linataimedest kootud õhukesed kangad. Et riietesse jääksid kaunid voldid, neid tärgeldati. What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Tourism

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Tourism? In today's world tourism is vital part of economy. Although tourism has became main source of income to many countries, it was not so couple of decades ago. This young branch of industry started developing in the second half of last century, when people had more money and sources than ever before. Importance of tourism to countries such as Egypt, Greece and Spain can not be questioned, as employment, service industry and opportunity to sell goods, is related to it. Tourism has also helped to build up certain regions, which otherwise would still be struggling in poverty. Futhermore, to make country desirable destination, governments have to keep crime rate under control, which makes life safer for locals as well. On the negative side, relentless waves of tourists increase our carbon footprint. Transportation

They were buildings, where the dead kings and queens were placed. The pyramids were built between 2575-2465 BC. There were used 2, 3 million blocks of stone to build the Great Pyramid. Each block of stone weighed 2.5 tons and about 20 men transported it. There was about 100,000 men working there and it took about 20 years to build the Giza pyramid

Panga Pank (Inglise keeles)

PANGA CLIFF The Panga cliff is located on the northern shore of Saaremaa, at the end of the Kuressaare - Võhma road, close to Panga village. It is the highest of the Saaremaa and Muhu cliffs, reaching to a maximum of 21.3 meters. The entire cliff is approximately 2.5 kilometers long. Standing at the tip of the cliff, one can clearly see another half-circular cliff under water. This is especially noticeable during storms, when the waves break against the underwater rocks, while the inside of the half-circle is calm. During bird migrations in the spring and fall, this half-circular lagoon is a favorite stopover point for storks on their long trip to and from Egypt, where most of them spend the winter. Sometimes there are well over a hundred storks, as well as other waterbirds, resting in the calm waters of the lagoon. Folk tradition ties Panga cliff as a place of worship and sacrifice for the ancient Saarlanders. It is known that unti...

How much do you know about biology?

Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy.[1] Biology is a vast subject containing many subdivisions, topics, and disciplines. Although biology in its modern form is a relatively recent development, sciences related to and included within it have been studied since ancient times. Natural philosophy was studied as early as the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Indian subcontinent, and China. Much of modern biology can be encompassed within five unifying principles: cell theory, evolution, genetics, homeostasis, and energy. Cell theory states that the cell is the fundamental unit of life, and that all living things are composed of one or more cells or the secreted products of those cells. Evolution is now used to explain the great variations of life found on Earth. Genes are the primary units of inheritance in all organisms

The Colossus of Rhodes

Location: At the entrance of the harbor of the Mediterranean island of Rhodes in Greece Throughout most of its history, ancient Greece was comprised of city-states which had limited power beyond their boundary. On the small island of Rhodes were three of these: Ialysos, Kamiros, and Lindos. In 408 BC, the cities united to form one territory, with a unified capital, Rhodes. The city thrived commercially and had strong economic ties with their main ally, Ptolemy I Soter of Egypt. In 305 BC, the Antigonids of Macedonia who were also rivals of the Ptolemies, besieged Rhodes in an attempt to break the Rhodo-Egyptian alliance. They could never penetrate the city. When a peace agreement was reached in 304 BC, the Antagonids lifted the siege, leaving a wealth of military equipment behind. The Rhodians decided to express their pride by building a triumphal statue of their favourite god, Helios. The task was assigned to the sculptor Chares of Lindos, a pupil of Lysippos

deceived by the machinations of his servant Iago, and his love for Desdemona. King Lear is about a king who divides his kingdom between three daughters, two of whom turn on him and the third, who truly loves him, is unrecognized. This is considered to be Shakespeare's darkest tragedy and was not performed for many years. Antony and Cleopatra is about two great lovers and nobility is an important theme in it. So are the relations between two very different cultures: Egypt and Rome. Macbeth, Set in Scotland, is about an ambitious Thane who murders the King in order to ascend to the throne

Kaasaegne Egiptus
