My easter

I´m going to write you about my easter. In this year was my easter quiet. All family was home and we enjoyed to be together. I colured eggs in the Saturday evening with my mother. It was so much fun. We used the special colour and the eggs came very nice. In the evening we also made a delicious cake, what we could ate in Sunday morning. Our home was also decoration. There were well know Easter symbols like chicks, easter eggs, bunnies and the pussy willows were in the vase. This was all what I could to write you about my easter.

Easter traditions in Estonia

Easter traditions in Estonia Easter traditions are rather young in Estonia. Our grandmothers took the eastern habits from BalticGermans without taking over the meanings painted eggs just seemed so beautiful. So for us, their grandchildren, painting eggs has no connection with religion traditions. It is more like a way of expressing one's creativity. We use different colors and techniques: painting with herbs, watercolors, markers, special colors etc. There aren't any certain patterns to use, everyone can do it any way they like. We also give colored eggs as presents to friends and children are cracking the eggs. More than Easter Estonians have traditionally celebrated a spring. There is a day

Meals and cooking

Meals and Cooking When we cook, we boil, roast, fry or stew our food. We boil eggs, meat, chicken, fish, milk, water and vegetables. We fry eggs, fish and vegetables. We stew fish, meat, vegetables or fruit. We roast meat or chicken. We put salt, sugar, pepper, vinegar and mustard into our food to make it salted, sweet, sour or simply tasty. Our food may taste good or bad or it may be tasteless. The usual meals in England are breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner or, in simpler houses, breakfast, dinner, tea and supper.

late twentieth century. Halloween is celebrated in several parts of the Western world, most commonly in Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom and occasionally in parts of Australia and New Zealand. The symbols are pumpkin, mythical monsters, black cats, scarecrows. Before you can enjoy Halloween you must do a lot of preparations. Like making the holiday decoration. You must also have candy for the trick-or-treaters. That is if you don`t want to find eggs on your house. The main activities are trick-or-treating and throwing eggs at people houses for hooligans. I think it is a holiday like any other. I don`t turn much attention to it. Hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes Karl

Mysterious place Moeraki Boulders (esitlus inglise keeles)

★ A Maori Legend: The boulders are remains of calabash (a gourd bearing tree), kumara (a sweet potato) and eel baskets which washed ashore when a canoe was shipwrecked. The rocky shoals which extend seaward from nearby Shag Point are the canoe’s petrified hull. Theories ★ Aliens: Conspiracy theorists tell us the Moeraki Boulders are alien eggs either sent from space or washed up by the ocean. ★ Volcano: A plausible explanation, they were shot out of an ancient volcano and this is where they landed. My theory ★ I think that Moeraki Boulders are result of ice melting or volcano, but I like that aliens eggs theory, so I'm not sure One question... Which theory you believe?

Clownfish

Finding Nemo, the Pixar movie introduced millions of people around the world the clownfish. Twenty-nine species of clownfish live among the reefs from East Africa to French Polynesia and from Japan to eastern Australia. Among scientists and aquarists, clownfish are also known as anemone fish because they can't survive without a host anemone, whose stinging tentacles protect them and their developing eggs from intruders. It's still a mystery exactly how a clownfish avoids being stung by the anemone. Of the roughly thousand species of anemones, only ten host clownfish. What's good for the clownfish is good for the anemone, and vice versa. Clownfish spend their entire lives with their host anemone, rarely straying more than a few yards from it. They lay their eggs about twice a month on the nearest hard surface concealed by the fleshy base of the anemone, and they aggressively protect the

without pickled herring (sill). For this fishy favorite remains the basis of every typical Swedish buffet. With an abundance of herring in both the North and Baltic Seas, Swedes have been pickling since the middle ages, mainly as a way of preserving the fish for storage and transportation. Pickled herring comes in a variety of flavors — mustard, onion, garlic and dill, to name a few — and is often eaten with boiled potatoes, sour cream, chopped chives, hard sharp cheese, sometimes boiled eggs, and of course, crisp bread. Pea soup and pancakes Many Sweden grow up eating pea soup and pancakes (ärtsoppa och pannkakor) on Thursdays. This tradition has been upheld by the Swedish Armed Forces since World War II. While its true origins are widely debated — from Catholics not eating meat on Fridays, this filling up on pea soup on Thursdays, to pea soup being very easy to prepare by maid servants who would work half-days on Thursdays — the tradition has

Tasmania a hundred years ago. It had stripes on its back like a tiger. It was more than 1.5 metres long. Scientists believe that hunters killed all of them at the beginning of the 20th century. The egg-laying mammals are the strangest of all the Australian animals. They lay eggs like birds and feed their young with milk as mammals do.They form a link between birds and mammals. The platypus or the duck-bill is one of them. The female lays two eggs in a nest of leaves and grass at the end of a burrow in a river bank. When the young come out of the eggs , they start eating the milk that comes through the mother's stomach skin. The platypus is a good swimmer and gets its food mainly from the river. It has a strong tail. It lives in the rivers of East Australia mostly. The echidna or a spiny ant-eater is the other egg-laying mammal that lives in Australia. It feeds on termites using its long, trunk-like nose to get them.

only Whigs in his administration; the Emperor's heir is described as having "one of his heels higher than the other", which describes the encouragement by the Prince of Wales (the future George II) of the political opposition during his father's life; once he ascended the throne, however, George II was as staunch a favorer of the Whigs as his father had been. The novel further describes an intraLilliputian quarrel over the practice of breaking eggs. Traditionally, Lilliputians broke boiled eggs on the larger end; a few generations ago, an Emperor of Lilliput had decreed that all eggs be broken on the smaller end. The differences between BigEndians (those who broke their eggs at the larger end) and LittleEndians had given rise to "six rebellions... wherein one Emperor lost his life, and another his crown". The BigEndian/LittleEndian controversy reflects, in a much simplified form, British quarrels over religion

3. What is the same and what is different about the way Easter is celebrated in England and Estonia? Easter lasts for 4 days in Britain: from Good Friday to Eas-ter Monday. Schools close for two weeks. On Good Friday people usually eat small sweet rolls toasted with butter and containing currants with a cross on top representing the wooden cross Jesus died on. On Easter Sunday Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Most people give each other chocolate eggs of all sizes, which are usually hollow or contain sweets. Families with children often have an Easter Egg Hunt in which everybody must look for eggs hidden in the house or the garden. 4. How do people celebrate Shrove Tuesday in England? And last, but not least , a vegeterians temper need to be strong. Because they can not eat everything tasty food, what other people eat all the time, like beacon, cheese, ham or even eggs. I believe that it is difficult to keep away from all this kind of food. finally, being vegeterian has both good and bad points but i think that being a vegeterian is hard to humans body and mind but it is easier to keep fit. John Harvey Kellogg

Stanley (18241893). John lived with two sisters during childhood. By 1860, the family had moved to Battle Creek, Michigan, where his father set up a broom factory. John later worked as a printer's devil in a Battle Creek publishing house. With his brother, Will Keith Kellogg, they started the Sanitas Food Company to produce their whole grain cereals around 1897, a time when the standard breakfast for the wealthy was eggs and meat, while the poor ate porridge, farina, gruel, and other boiled grains. John and Will later argued over the recipe for the cereals (Will wanted to add sugar to the flakes), so in 1906 Will started his own company, the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company, which eventually became the Kellogg Company, triggering a decades-long feud. John then formed the Battle Creek Food Company to develop and market soy products. (John did not invent the concept of the dry breakfast cereal

My Breakfast

That's why I consider breakfast to be the most important meal in the day as it is the first our meal in the morning and it can put us in good spirits for the whole day. Now I shall tell you about my own breakfast. In the morning I usually have porridge or corn flakes. Sometimes I start my breakfast with a cereal which is not cooked, it is something dry, ready to be eaten or muesli some grain or porridge which is not cooked with dried fruit, nuts and so on. I also like eating eggs (cooked in different ways). I don't practically eat butter; I prefer soft margarine made of vegetable fat, which is not heavy and creamy. I don't eat jam at breakfast, I eat marmalade which is not sweet, there is slight bitterness; it's rather pleasant for my taste. I usually don't have substantial breakfast on weekdays; I do it on weekends when I get up late. Very often I have just some tea or coffee with sandwiches. Tea is usually taken by me with milk

Halloween

" to ask for candy, sweets. This practice originally involved a threat. A threat is when someone says that they will do something bad if they do not get what they want. In this case the threat could be explained as: "Give me a treat or I will play a trick on you." Children today usually do not play tricks if they do not get treats. However, some children still get up to mischief (pranks or things to make fun of people; like putting toilet paper in trees; writing on windows with soap or throwing eggs at peoples' houses). People sometimes dress up as ghosts, witches, goblins and other scary things for Halloween. A jack-o-lantern is typically a carved pumpkin. It is associated chiefly with the holiday of Halloween. The tradition of carving a lantern started in the British Isles however, it was traditionally carved out of a turnip. They were created on All Hallows' Eve and left on the door step to ward off evil spirits. They are about 1,8 to 2,5 meters tall and weigh 90 to 320 kilograms. Polar bears usually eat seals usually the ringed seasl, but sometimes the bearded seals. When hunting is good, polar bears will typically eat only the fat and leave the rest of the carcass for scavengers including arctic foxes, ravens, and younger bears. Polar bears also sometimes kill and eat both walrus and beluga whales. They have even hunted short-legged reindeer and sometimes even birds and bird eggs. Polar bears are top of the food chain in the Arctic. They help to keep the balance of nature by preventing an overpopulation of seals. In the wild, polar bears live an average of 15 to 18 years, although biologists have tagged a few bears who are 30 years old. One zoo bear in London lived to 41. Female polar bears have their first set of cubs between the ages of four and eight (most frequently at age five or six). At

Are men better directors than women ?

Name: Chlen Zhopov Subject: Essay Are men better directors than women ? It is common that top executives in big companies are mostly men. But does that necessarily mean that women are not suitable for such responsible, effort and leadership demanding jobs? I do not think so. First of all, I would like to say that this tradition is coming not only from history, but from evolution. In nature, masculine representatives of most species are stronger, more agile and aggressive than feminine representatives, because their biological function is to be the main breadwinners and defenders of their families, while females' main functions are to distribute that bread within the family, raise, feed and look after the progeny. Of course there are exceptions like lions (lionesses do hunting which ensures food for their families), seahorses (males bear the eggs) and some others, but in general law of nature is such. So i...

Australia/ Austraalia

world are very much alive in Australia. Australia is, in fact, a continent-sized museum of ancient animals, modernized along certain lines by their own separate evolution. Two of the strangest animals in the world the spiny anteater and the platypus, only live in Australia. They are reptile-mammals. Another group of Australian mammals are the marsupials. These are the kangaroo and the wombat, for example. They do not lay eggs, but their young are born before they are fully developed. A little kangaroo crawls into its mother's pouch and stays there for almost three months. Dogs, cats, and rabbits brought to Australia by men are rapidly destroying the gentler marsupials. There is only one marsupial still alive in the United States today it is the opossum. Many of the plants of Australia aren't found anywhere else. Agriculture. Australia's farms are highly mechanized and therefore require the
