Easter

Easter Easter is a moveable feast. It is so, because the date of Easter changes every year. Easter Sunday can fall on any date from 22 March to 25 April, but it always falls on the first Sunday following the full Moon after 21 March. Easter is the oldest and the most important Christian Festival, the celebration of the death and coming to life again of Jesus Christ. For Christians, the dawn of Easter Sunday with its message of new life is the high point of the Christian year. There are three important days: · Maundy Thursday eg Holy Thursday the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles · Good Friday the day on which Jesus was crucified · Easter Day the day on which Jesus came back to life In many European languages the name Easter comes from the word Passover.

My easter

I´m going to write you about my easter. In this year was my easter quiet. All family was home and we enjoyed to be together. I colured eggs in the Saturday evening with my mother. It was so much fun. We used the special colour and the eggs came very nice. In the evening we also made a delicious cake, what we could ate in Sunday morning. Our home was also decoration. There were well know Easter symbols like chicks, easter eggs, bunnies and the pussy willows were in the vase. This was all what I could to write you about my easter.

Christmas and Easter

Dear Tom, It was nice to hear from you and you asked me to write about religious holidays that are celebrated in my country. I will talk about Easter and Christmas celebrations. Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. The date of Easter therefore varies between March 22 and April 25. Originally only Christians celebrated Easter. According to Christians, Jesus was resurrected from the dead that day. Newer elements such as the Easter Bunny and Easter egg have become part of the holiday's modern celebrations, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike. There are also some Christian denominations who do not celebrate Easter. Other religious holiday is Christmas. It's one of the most popular festivals of Christian community celebrated all over the world. According to Christians it's the day when Jesus was born. Christmas is held on December 25 in most countries

seemed so beautiful. So for us, their grandchildren, painting eggs has no connection with religion traditions. It is more like a way of expressing one's creativity. We use different colors and techniques: painting with herbs, watercolors, markers, special colors etc. There aren't any certain patterns to use, everyone can do it any way they like. We also give colored eggs as presents to friends and children are cracking the eggs. More than Easter Estonians have traditionally celebrated a spring. There is a day near Easter called Paastumaarjapäev (the Day of Virgin Mary and Fast) which is a women's day. Women and girls go together to swim in a spring in the sunrise it will make them fresh and goodlooking for rest of the year. After they dance and sing and dance traditional round dances. It used to be the only day when men stayed at home and took care of the house and children.

Most countries observe their respective independence days as a national holiday, and in some cases the observance date is controversial or contested. Good Friday Moveable Friday Good Friday is a religious holiday observed primarily by Christians commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. The holiday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Friday, or Easter Friday, though the latter properly refers to the Friday in Easter week. Easter Sunday Moveable Sunday Easter is a Christian festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion at Calvary as described in the New Testament. Inglisekeelne ülevaade Inglismaa kultuurist

Tradition has it that the first person over the threshold on New Year’s Day will dictate the luck brought to the household in the coming year. That person usually brings a piece of coal, a loaf and a bottle of whiskey. On entering he must place the fuel on the fire, a loaf and a bottle on the table and pour a glass for the head of the house without speaking. He can speak when he has wished everyone ‘A Happy New Year’.  Good Friday – Friday before Easter Day. It is traditional to eat warm 'hot cross buns' on Good Friday. Hot Cross Buns with their combination of spicy, sweet and fruity flavours have long been an Easter tradition.  Easter Monday – the day after Easter Day.  May Day – first Monday of May each year. Over the May Bank holiday there are many celebrations with Morris Dancing, Maypole dancing and the crowning of the May Queen.  Spring Bank Holiday – the last Monday of May each year

with disapproval and is suspicious. When he realizes that Vianne wants to open a chocolate shop in place of the old bakery, influencing the church-goers, Reynaud’s disapproval increases more. As it becomes clear that villagers are being influenced by Vianne, he quickly sees her as danger. Under Vianne’s control an old woman starts a new life, a wife finds courage to leave her mean husband, children rebel against authority and Reynaud’s community is danger of falling apart. Soon is Easter and Vianne and Reynaud start preparing: Vianne for a chocolate festival, Reynaud for winning back hearts of the villagers. At first, I thought this film is an uninteresting old film. However, I found out that it is really thrilling and fascinating. I enjoyed that it was slow-moving but had many conflicts. The director also brought a romantic side to the film, which made it more interesting.

Isepäine vandekogu

Arvustus ’’Isepäine vandekogu’’ on 2003. aasta mis räägib sellest kuidas ühes büroos tapeti üks advokaat. Advokaadi lesk kaebas selle sündmusega seoses ühe relvakompanii kohtusse. Tema advokaadiks sai Wendall Rohr. Filmi alguses valiti 13 liikmeline vandekogu.

The Houses of Parliament

Palace was built in 11th century by man called Charles Barry .It is located on the north back of the River Thames. In 1834 most of it burned, so in 1840 The Palace of Westminister was rebuilt. It is the meeting place of the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom - the House of Lords and the House of Commons. The Houses of Parliament is composed of 1100 rooms, 100 staircases and three miles of corridors. Parliament takes breaks during Christmas, Easter and over the summer. The Palace of Westminster features three main towers The Central Tower, The Victoria Tower and The Clock Tower, also known as Big Ben. The Central Tower stands over the middle of the building, immediately above the Central Lobby. This tower is proof that after the fire in 1834, the palace can still look good. Irish National Costums

Legend has it that resourceful Saint Patrick made use of the three-lobed shamrock as a diagram to explain the Holy Trinity to his uneducated congregation. However, the pre-Christian Irish had long associated the shamrock with Trefulngid Tre-eochair ("The Triple Bearer of the Triple Key"), the spring fertility god manifestation, whose symbol can be a shamrock or three legs spiraling together (as seen on the flag of the Isle of Man). The Irish celebrate Easter, and Easter Monday is a public holiday. Christmas is celebrated on 25 December, but celebrations may last until New Year's Day. An old custom has boys blackening their faces, carrying paper wrens, and asking for spare change on Saint Stephen's Day (26 December). This is called "hunting the wren," and the boys are known as 'wren boys.' This tradition commemorates the old story of how the wily wren tricked the mighty eagle into giving up the title of King of All Birds. This
