Often the desire becomes an obsession and young girls see "thinness" as being a needed characteristic. For many girls, the teenage years are spent trying to acquire this look. Eating disorders are a serious health problem. Three of the most common eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating or compulsive eating disorder. There are other possible causes to this widely known health problem. The media shows a great deal of beauty and thinness on television and magazines that are viewed by many people daily. Everyone has the desire to look like the actors and actresses do but, in reality, it just will not happen for most of us.
There's nothing wrong with that but you have to know where to draw the line. Being on a diet may seriously affect your mind and body and not in a good way. We also see many over-weight people. That is another extreme. Over-weight is not good for your heart and its actions. It severely damages your heart work and simultanously causes many heart problems. It also shortens your life, too. Homeless people tend to be single, middle- aged, unemployed, and lacking in qualifications. Many have a history of violence in the home, and many suffer from psychological disorders, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Homelessness creates a sense of failure ( ) and results in isolation, loss of self- esteem ( ) , and loss of control over the most basic decisions and acts of everyday life such as when and what to eat, and where and when to wash. Learning and behavior difficulties can be a severe as FAs. In both FAS and FAE, studies show a positive relationship between degree of prenatal alcohol exposure and physical birth defects, growth, brain and behavioral deficiencies. Some other things show that in not as severe cases of FAS may deal with maturity, abnormalities of the upper lip and small eye openings, short stuture,and small head continue. Brain and behavioral deficits also continue including lower IQ and a number of behavioral disorders. Children with FAS and FAE are often described as hyperactive, disstactible, or impulsive. they often have short attention spans similar to attention deficit dirorder, but with lower IQ's particularly in the FAS child. In addition to attention deficits, problems with judgement, comprehension, and abstract think are common. Some new research says that kids with FAS and FAE are more vulerable to alcohol exposure. Another thing is newborns exposed to alcohol before birth may have a weak sucking
Every year, the health of countless people is ruined or endangered by air pollution. Many different chemicals in the air affect the human body in negative ways. Just how sick people will get depends on what chemicals they are exposed to, in what concentrations, and for how long. Studies have estimated that the number of people killed annually in the US alone could be over 50,000. Older people are highly vulnerable to diseases induced by air pollution. Those with heart or lung disorders are under additional risk. Children and infants are also at serious risk. Because people are exposed to so many potentially dangerous pollutants, it is often hard to know exactly which pollutants are responsible for causing sickness. Also, because a mixture of different pollutants can intensify sickness, it is often difficult to isolate those pollutants that are at fault. Many diseases could be caused by air pollution without their becoming apparent for a long time.
