Victoria was founded in 1803, when British soldiers came to stop
French soldiers from settling any new areas.
In 1854 there was an armed rebellion but it was held back by British

On 7 February in 2009 Victoria was affected by heavy bushfires, 134
died and the event is known as the "Black Saturday."
