Also called the Bolivian, Peruvian, and Royal
chinchilla.
Their bodies measure between 28 to 49 cm long and
weigh around 1,1 to 1,5 kg.
They have short front limbs and long, powerful legs
that aid in climbing and jumping.
Short-tailed chinchillas have thicker necks and
shoulders and have much shorter tails than their
long-tailed relatives.

chinchilla.
Body length up to 26 cm.
Average males weight 369493 g and females
weigh 379450 g.
The Chinchilla lanigera species, though rare,
can be found in the wild.
Domestic chinchillas are thought to come from
the lanigera species.
