The Use of the Telephone in Relation to Customer Service **Telephone skills are the most important aspect of being successful in a call center job. When you work on the phone all day as a customer service representative, the telephone is the one and only tool that will make or break your success. The phone is probably the most used tool in modern business. **Answering the phone professionally The rules for answering a telephone are simple but they need to be continually reviewed and practised. Following are the most basic ones, which should always be employed. 1. Use the four answering courtesies: · Greet the caller · State your organisation (or department) · Introduce yourself · Offer your help "Good afternoon, Accounts, Andrew Batt speaking. How may I help?" 2. Show enthusiasm when you answer. Help make the caller feel welcome A tired voice lacking in enthusiasm is very unappealing and reflects on the professionalism...
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to complain about the mobile phone which I bought from your store and about your customer service. I bought the phone on 15th September. I was told that the phone has guarantee for 6 months. It worked properly for three weeks. Then it suddenly stopped working, the screen went black and the buttons didn’t function. I immedately phoned your helpline and was told that this was completely my fault and i have to pay extra money for the repair. I think that it is unreasonable that I have to pay for the phone repair because guarantee is 6 months. I also think that in the future you should talk to your employees about their attitude. I would like to get my phone repaired for free. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, xy

It particularly emphasizes the development of the service value proposition as it is at the heart ...

INTRODUCTION OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (SCM) A supply chain is a network of facilities and distribution options that performs the functions of procurement of materials, transformation of these materials into intermediate and finished products, and the distribution of these finished products to customers. Supply chains exist in both service and manufacturing organizations, although the complexity of the chain may vary greatly from industry to industry and firm to firm. Supply chain management is typically viewed to lie between fully vertically integrated firms, where the entire material flow is owned by a single firm and those where each channel member operates independently. Therefore coordination between the various players in the chain is key in its effective management. Cooper and Ellram [1993] compare supply chain management to a well-balanced and well-practiced relay team. Such a team...
1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Learning Aid Critical Success Factors in the Strategy of Southwest Airlines Purpose: Use this Learning Aid to learn about the critical success factors in the strategy of Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines has been the most successful airline in the industry over the past three decades. It is the preeminent low-cost air carrier in the United States, providing air transportation service between more than 60 American airports. Founded in 1971, the mission of the company was simple – make it less expensive to fly than to drive between two points. At first glance, Southwest's approach did not seem like a recipe for success. They did not cater flights, did not offer seat assignments, used less central airports, and focused only on point-to-point travel. But Southwest's strategy was not to imitate the big airlines; it was to create a new market – short-haul air transport. The airline specificall...

To: Mr C. James, Manager From: Name, Assistant Manager Subject: Marco’s fast food restaurant Introduction The purpose of this report is to assess the good and bad points of Marco’s fast food restaurant and suggest any changes. It is based on my experiences as a customer. Food and prices Firstly, I am satisfied with prices, they are reasonable. But there is not a wide variety of dishes. You should add more dishes to your menu. Service Another thing to mention is that the staff was friendly and helpful. I think that a good staff means a lot for customers. But on the other hand, the service is a little too slow, particularly when the restaurant gets busy. More people should be hired. Atmosphere Finally, the restaurant looks really old and it does not look very clean anymore. I think that painting it again will give a really good result. Furthermore, I came by car, but there was nowhere to park it. You should clean up the old storage ya...

Good afternoon! My name is … I will be speaking today for 10 minutes about market and marketing. At first I am going to talk about meaning of market and I must define what is market in modern marketing context. The common usage of market means a place where goods are bought or sold. A market need not necessarily mean a place of exchange. The word market is commonly used and may even mean or aim in any of the following: Market may mean a place where buying and selling take place Buyers and sellers come together for transaction An organization through which exchange of goods takes place The act of buying and selling of goods (to satisfy human wants) An area of operation of commercial demand for commodities In addition, I have to define what is marketing. Dear Sir, My name is ... I am writing this letter following my stay at your hotel, Hotel Titanic. I stayed in room 603 from September 3rd to September 10th. I am wiriting becouse of the poor level of service and overall an unpleasant experience. When I first got to the hotel, I had to wait for 15 minutes in the reception before a young woman came, and helped us book in. Throughout my stay I was served mediocre food. The bathroom wasen't cleaned properly and the room servise was pretty bad. The room servise rearly changed my bed sheets and towels. There were 6 power-cuts wich each lasted for atleast 2 minutes. Worse still, I had an extremly noisy neighbour who was entertaining his visitors until 4 AM, two nights in a row. I even complained to the manager but that didn't impove the situation until the third day. Overall the stay wasen't worth the cost but I am not asking for a chargeback. I just hope that you will improve your customer...

To: Walter White, Manager From: Rick Grimes Subject: Suggested improvements to make the shop more profitable Date: 3rd December 2012 Purpose: The purpose of this report is to make recommendations on how to improve the shop and make it more profitable. Discounts: Firstly, one suggestion would be to make several discounts on popural products. For example, reducing the price of a popural item by about 15 percent would really pay off. Also if a customer buys two same items, he gets the third one for free. This would certainly be profitable and I am confident that more people would visit your shop. Extra shop assistants: Lastly, I think that hiring an extra two or three shop assistants would be a very good idea too. Then customers would have to wait less to pay for their items and the shop could service a lot more customers than before. Bonuses for regular customers: Secondly, I think that regular customers who have been visting your shop f...

Entry Ticket Week 39 – Ave Nurmeots (62-130) 1. Why is it important to move beyond product innovation? To be able to compete within the today’s marketplace (continued success and differentiation). It is not enough anymore just to come up with an innovative product or its features. To achieve a bigger and more sustainable competitive advantage different types of innovations should be combined together. 2. Name an example of a company from the book, which has gone beyond product innovation –explain which of the 9 other types they have used? I really liked the example of Microsoft reinventing integrated office tools. When I think about it in today’s context, it seems very logical – a lot of companies do that. But that must have been an amazing innovation for that time. They used: o Profit model – instead of paying for the different applications separately, they...

Might the Welsh language face a bright future? Welsh belongs to a branch of Celtic, an Indo-European language. The language is being used about half a million people in Wales and possibly another few hundred thousand people within England and even Australia and United States of America. The normal language of every day life is still English but in some regions such as Gwynedd and Dyfed, the use of Welsh is very wide and well spread. The tendency nowadays is towards the development and introduction of Welsh. This could not have been said at the first part of the 20th century. Welsh have been under the reign or a part of Great Britain for a long time. During the 16 th century, particularly at the time of Henry the VIII, they tried to force the Welsh language out by an Act which declared that the language to be used in courts and administrative offices would have to be English. And of course the most natural process ...

ESSAY The role of the Secretary in business Secretarys are usually women so most of the people generally think that Secretary's job is to make coffee, wear miniskirt and just be beautiful. Of course that is the most common wrong belief. Secretary is actually really important in the company. But what are Secretary's main tasks and why is she so important in business? I think that Secretary is very important person in the company. All clients and guests meet the secretary first so she is the first contact of the company and its reputations depends on how great is the customer service. She is like a business card of the company. Secretary greets clients and if needed, forwards clients to the right place. I think Secretary job gives a lot of variety of different tasks. Complaint This February I planned a roundtrip flight for 4 travellers from Anchorage to Toronto from 4th of July till 13th of July 2014. After buying the tickets from the Internet (tickets.ua), I decided to pick seating for all of them. In February, I found a link through the airline webpage where I could easily pick seating for each of them. I sent my 14 year-old son on the trip with his grandfather and I wanted them sit next to each other because it was his first long flight. Furthermore, my son specially asked if he could have seat by the window. Under these conditions, we finally chose their seats and booked tickets. I received a conformation on my email after booking the tickets and everything seemed to be okay until May. My son noticed they no longer had their seats available for them anymore. He thereupon sent an e-mail to a LOT' Estonia representative to clarify the facts. In response they said that the booking was not free sin...
