These colours were later reversed and, while the reason for this remains unclear, England embarked on what today is considered a continuous tradition of a red cross on white from 1277, whereas France displayed a white cross, first on a red, then on a blue flag.

Cross-docking Terminali veetakse ööpäeva jooksul põhivedudega kuus erinevatelt saatjatelt tulnud saadetist. Iga saadetis koosneb kahest kuni kolmest kaubaalusest (enamasti segaalused), kus on igaühes kaupu kolmele kuni viiele saajale. Kõigil kuuel tarnijal on ühed ja samad kliendid. Kuna jaotusvedu igalt tarnijalt igale kliendile eraldi oleks kulukas, tehakse terminalis igapäevaselt cross-dockingit, mille käigus tehakse terminalis küll täiendavat käsitsemist, kuid veokuludes saavutatakse arvestatav kokkuhoid. Selleks, et cross-dockingit saaks läbi viia, peavad olema täidetud järgmised tingimused: •teada peab olema saabuvate pakkeüksuste saabumise aeg, saatja, tarneaadress, info kauba ning koguste kohta •teada peab olema info väljaminevate saadetiste kohta (tarneaeg, tarneaadress, info kauba ning koguste kohta). •väljaminevad saadetised peavad olema märgistatud saatedokumentidega. •igasugune info muudatuste kohta veoprotsessis peab ol...

Idiom story

Sally woke up in the morning; she looked at the clock and realized that she has been late to the work. She shook a leg - took a shower, grabbed a sandwich, hopped into her car and drove away. Then she almost ran over a stranger man. She braked the car and blew the horn. Then she realized that it was Michael, a nice handsome guy from the beach party at last weekend. If it's not one thing, it's another. She stooped out of the car window to apologize. She had to hurry but wanted to be nice and polite. She said, "Sorry, Michael I didn't noticed you, are you okay?" "Yes, but I will be better if you'll come out with me tonight, would you?" asked Michael. "Sure!" "Well, then I'll come and pick you up at 7pm!" Then Sally drove away, thinking about what she had done. She promised yesterday to her 10-years old daughter that she will watch a movie with her and now Sally didn't know what to do, her agreeing was just a slip of the tongue. ...

BRITISH NATIONAL SYMBOLS

labarum, employed as early as 400 AD by the Roman Emperor Constantine. The labarum was a Christian version of the Roman vexillum. It marked an evolution from the latter as it displayed a portrait of the Emperor and his family or other government officials, and atop the staff, the monogram of Christ. The legend about its origin, as told by the 4th century historian Eusebius in Life of Constantine, has it that the emperor before the victory over Maxentius in 312 had seen a sign of the cross in the sky with the words In hoc signo vinces. Again we have to note that, although similar in some functions to modern flags, none of these devices was flown from flagpoles - they were all portable deities. In consequence flags in their modern sense were still to be invented. Nevertheless, flags are related to the units they represent, as signs of identification, whether flown in ancient or modern times. Trafalgar Square

changing pieces of contemporary art, and it is a site of political demonstrations. The name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar (1805), a British naval victory of the Napoleonic Wars. The original name was to have been "King William the Fourth's Square", but George Ledwell Taylor suggested the name "Trafalgar Square". The northern area of the square had been the site of the King's Mews since the time of Edward I, while the southern end was the original Charing Cross, where the Strand from the City met Whitehall, coming north from Westminster. As the midpoint between these twin cities, Charing Cross is to this day considered the heart of London, from which all distances are measured. In the 1820s the Prince Regent engaged the landscape architect John Nash to redevelop the area. Nash cleared the square as part of his Charing Cross Improvement Scheme. The present architecture of the square is due to Sir Charles Barry and was completed in 1845.

Neoimpressionism

rohkem optilised efektid ja kompositsioon kui vahetu mulje edasiandmine. Divisionism • Divisionism (prantsuse keeles diviser 'jaotama') on üks kahest neoimpressionistide kasutatud maalitehnikast. • Segamata värvitoone kanti alusele väikeste korrapäraste punktide, laikude või joontena. Taolise maalitehnika puhul säilib hästi värvide sära ja annab maalile kummalise väreluse. • Divisionistlikud neoimpressionistid olid näiteks: Georges- Pierre Seurat, Henri-Edmond Cross ja Giuseppe Pelizza da Volpedo. • Parim näide divisionistlikust maalist on "Pühapäeva pärastlõuna Grande-Jatte'i saarel". Puäntillism • Lühikesed pintslitõmbed ehk punktid andsid tehnikale nimetuseks ka "puäntillism" (prantsuse keeles point 'punkt'). • Puäntillistlikud neoimpressionistid olid näiteks: Albert Dubois-Pillet, Henri-Edmond Cross, Georges-Pierre Seurat ja Paul Signac. UK vs USA inglisekeelne võrdlus

The fifty stars represent the 50 states and the 13 stripes represent the thirteen colonies that rebelled against the British monarchy and became the first states in the Union. The flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is sometimes called the Union Jack because it symbolises the administrative union of the countries of the United Kingdom. This red, white, and blue flag was first used in 1801. It is a combination of the flags of England (the cross of St. George), Scotland (the cross of St. Andrew), and Ireland (the cross of St. Patrick).

St. Charles Church (Kaarli kirik)

It is architecturally the most magnificent out of all Estonian sacred buildings in the 19th century, also Charles congregation is currently the largest in Estonia by the number of members. It was originally built in the 17th century, during the time of Swedish rule, when king Charles XI commissioned the construction of a church for the Estonian and Finnish population in 1670. At first it was wooden and not very large, built in a Greek cross style. Traditionally, the church was named after the king that built it. In 1710, right before the invasion of the Russian troops and during the Great Northern War, the church was burnt down along with many buildings surrounding the city fortification wall. The destruction led to decreasing of the congregation - some of the members left to join other neighbouring congregations. Discussions about re-establishing the place began around the middle of the 1800s

Archbishop of Riga to Pope Innocent VI from the year 1354 in the register of supplications in Avignon, which describes a miracle that happened in the chapel of Vastseliina castle. On a September night in 1353 music was heard from the empty castle chapel and people saw two wax candles burn with a supernatural light. The cross, which was otherwise attached to the wall in the northern part of the altar, was now standing in the middle of the altar without any support. The cross was still there during the writing of the letter in January 1354. Pilgrims started to flow to Vastseliina both from Livonia and Germany after what happened and many who were blind and deaf had their sight and hearing restored. The Archbishop of Livonia asked the Pope in his letter for forgiveness of sins to the visitors of the chapel, giving the following reason for his request: the growth in the number of pilgrims would provide funds for

National Symbols of New Zealand

increasing trade with the ports in Australia. While a temporary licence was granted in August 1831 allowing the Sir George Murray to return to Sydney for trading, the need for an official flag to mark New Zealand-built ships was clear. Description The New Zealand flag is the symbol of the realm government and people of New Zealand. Its royal blue background is reminiscent of the blue sea and clear sky surrounding NZ. The stars of the Southern Cross emphasise the country's location in the South Pacific Ocean. The New Zealand Flag features, on a royal blue background, a Union Jack in the first quarter and four five-pointed red stars of the Southern Cross on the other part of the flag. The New Zealand Flag is the national symbol of this country and accordingly it should be honoured and treated with respect. The New Zealand Flag may be flown on any day of the year, usually during normal working hours, and in a variety of places.
