FRANCE (18 December 1986) The applicant, an Italian national, was tried in absentia by an Italian court for abduction and murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. Three years later, he was arrested in France by the police, but a formal request for extradition was refused by the Limoges Court of Appeal as the conviction in absentia was incompatible with French public policy. The applicant remained in residence in the Limoges area awaiting trial by the French courts for other offences. On the day that an order was made committing him for trial, the applicant was abducted by French policemen, served with a deportation order (which was over one month old) and forcibly taken to the Swiss border where he was handed to the Swiss authorities. Following proceedings in Switzerland, he was extradited to Italy, under a standing agreement between the two countries, where he was imprisoned for the conviction by the Italian courts.

Lastly, schools in Britain seem to offer more facilities than in Estonia. Our schools usually do not have tennis and squash courts or football and hockey fields of their own. In addition, British schools provide their students with a wider range of extracurricular activities like martial arts, dancing and singing lessons, cooking, photography clubs, theatre groups, practice of chess and many different sports. Exchange students are a more common feature there and in the holidays, interesting trips are organized for the students by the school. Might the Welsh language face a bright future?

Gwynedd and Dyfed, the use of Welsh is very wide and well spread. The tendency nowadays is towards the development and introduction of Welsh. This could not have been said at the first part of the 20th century. Welsh have been under the reign or a part of Great Britain for a long time. During the 16 th century, particularly at the time of Henry the VIII, they tried to force the Welsh language out by an Act which declared that the language to be used in courts and administrative offices would have to be English. And of course the most natural process started as people were forced to talk English, they taught their children English and the Welsh language was to be forgotten. But that did not happen. The Welsh language has had its ups and downs, being mostly at its low level. But now I think that the situation has changed. Nowadays more and more young people cherish their roots and it is important to be proud of their origin

Others have found ways to find someone else to blame for an accident for which they were responsible. For example, one man received a payout of £238,000 in compensation from his local council after that he had broken his ankle in a pot hole. I mean how much more stupid can the justice systems get, unbelievable. In conclusion, I think that the world has gone completely mad with those compensations. I would put it on the conscience of the greedy lawyers who wisely get the money out of the courts and bigger percentage to themselves. Honour to them but that still doesn't make it right. Or maybe the laws aren't so perfect after all. But there isn't any clear solutions to it. Maybe to develop a new kind of legal system, desirably the perfect one. Therefore I would leave you with one statement: "There has always been, there is and always will be holes in the constitutional laws."

The terms of the Treaty of Union with England in 1707 guaranteed the continued existence of a separate legal system in Scotland from that of England and Wales. Prior to 1611, there were several regional law systems in Scotland, most notably Udal law in Orkney and Shetland, based on old Norse law. Various other systems derived from common Celtic or Brehon laws survived in the Highlands until the 1800s. Scots law provides for three types of courts responsible for the administration of justice: civil, criminal and heraldic. The supreme civil court is the Court of Session, although civil appeals can be taken to the House of Lords. The High Court of Justiciary is the supreme criminal court. Both courts are housed at Parliament House, in Edinburgh, which was the home of the pre-Union Parliament of Scotland. The sheriff court is the main criminal and civil court. There are 49 sheriff courts throughout the country. District courts were

Aastatel 1492- 1504 töötas Sittow Kastiilia kuninganna Isabel I õukonnas ja Burgundia hertsogi Philipp Ilusa teenistuses. Aastal 1505 maalis ta portree Inglismaa kuninga Henry VII...

Viljandi

Viljandi is an ancient city situated on a hill by a beautiful lake. The lake glittering in the bottom of the valley is popular with holiday-makers, fishermen and people who enjoy recreational sports. A hiking path runs around the lake and it can be used for recreational sports all year round. Since the year 1928, a run around Lake Viljandi has taken place on the first day of May every year. Tennis courts, cafes, playgrounds, diving towers, boat rental and catamaran trips are available by the lake. In winter, people can enjoy a snow park and test their skills at snow-tubing. Flag and coat of arms Viljandi's flag is a simple light blue over white. I don't know the significance of the colours (if any), but they are probably derived from the coat of arms. The arms are a white (and golden) flower on a blue field. Trepimägi

law: the national judge requests the Court of Justice to check the validity of an act of European law. The reference for a preliminary ruling is therefore a reference from one judge to another. Although a referral to the Court of Justice may be requested by one of the parties involved in the dispute, the decision to do so rests with the national court. In this respect, Article 267 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU (TFEU) specifies that national courts which act as a final resort, against whose decisions there is no judicial remedy, are obliged to make a reference to the Court of Justice for a preliminary ruling, unless the Court has already ruled on the matter or the interpretation of the EU rule of law in question is obvious. In contrast, national courts which do not rule in final resort are not obliged to exercise the reference for a preliminary ruling, even if one of the parties requests it.

Principle of proportionality, the issue of the conformity of national measures to this principle is competent to be decided by the courts of the Member States, and the EU Court exercises a supervisory function, guided by considerations of political expediency. So in the decision of the Court of Justice in the case of Cassis de Dijon, there is a clear tendency not to narrow the limits of national regulation indefinitely, but to meet Member State’s needs. In the system of the EU the principle of proportionality is, so as it should be, a logical continuation of the principle of subsidiarity

confusing ... why, a "glorious mess" (Dingell's words, cited by Bush). In reality, automakers would simply have to meet the highest standard applied to them. That's not confusing; they just don't want to do it. What would also be unacceptable, according to Bush, is for "unelected regulators and judges" to force a "one size fits all" set of carbon regulations on the country. The unelected judges in question are the ones on what Bush refers to dismissively as "some courts" - that is, the US supreme court. The unelected regulators are the ones in Bush's own EPA, which was told by the court in no uncertain terms that it is obligated by the Clean Air Act to regulate CO2. "One size fits all" means that CO2 would thus be subject to national regulations, and the Bush administration couldn't cut deals with every industry individually. Oh, the affront to democracy. *Hilariously, Bush said that such incentives "should be technology-neutral because the

Lk 11. 5 Kohtute sõltumatuse käsitluse võrdlus Eesti ja Leedu kohtusüsteemis Leedu konstitutsioon, sarnaselt Eesti omaga, sätestab selgelt, et õigusemõistmist teostavad üksnes kohtud ning kohtud koos kohtunikega on selle tegemisel sõltumatud. Leedu konstitutsioonis on säte: "While administering justice, judges and courts shall be independent."6 Selles valguses on Eesti põhiseaduslik sätestatus tugevam, kuivõrd räägib ainult kohtutest, mille sõltumatuse eelduseks on sõltumatud kohtunikud.

period 14001600 led to major changes in styles of composing, methods of disseminating music, new musical genres, and the development of musical instruments. The most important music of the early Renaissance was composed for use by the church--polyphonic (made up of several simultaneous melodies) masses and motets in Latin for important churches and court chapels. By the end of the sixteenth century, however, patronage was split among many areas: the Catholic Church, Protestant churches and courts, wealthy amateurs, and music printing-- all were sources of income for composers. Literature Printing press: William Caxton was the person who introduced printing in England. Before that, the books were written out in longhand, what meant a very slow jog. With the printing , it was possible to produce books in large numbers and in a short amoun of time. That way, more people could learn to read and write. The oral tradition began to loose power both in literature and in the Church affairs.
