Newspapers in Britain

Examples of the quality dailies are The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent and the Financial Times. People choose a paper that reflects their own political opinion. The popular press is mainly represented by papers founded after the launching day of the Daily Mail in 1896. Today such papers are largely tabloid. 'Tabloid' is a term, used for substances which were compressed into pills. The tabloids 'compress' the news and are printed on small sheets of paper. They contain sensational stories, using techniques such as very large headlines and photographs. Tabloids do not contain much serious news, but offer plenty of sport and 'human interest' plus a bit of 'scandal'. The most popular are The Sun, The Mirror, The Express and the Daily Mail. Popular Sunday papers began in the mid-ninteenth century and were aimed at people who could not afford more expensive daily papers. The quality Sunday papers (The Sunday Times, The Observer

regarding the new shopping center. Reasons it should be built The resident's committee has concluded that the new shopping center would be useful for people in our town as it would give them more choice in where to shop. Also, since there are no any decent sized shopping centers nor malls nearby, the new one would make people's lives easier since they would not have to drive as far out of the town as they are used to at the moment. Stores the shopping center should contain The shopping center should most importantly contain a big grocery store where people could buy their everyday food and drinks. Clothing stores would also be very useful as there are not many around this town. Lastly, we would propose electronics and free time stores and sporting goods stores for people to purchase various goods that suit their hobbies. Our objections to the center Our only objections to the shopping center are that since malls take away a lot of space, it will

Being their second album, A rush of blood to the head was released in 2002. The album has several popular singles such as "In My Place", "Clocks", and the ballad "The Scientist." It also won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards. This is my favourite CD, because you forget everything that surrounds you while you listen to it. Chris martin has a powerful voice and the overall sound is flawless. The songs contain lush melodies and they are really relaxing. The band's music is also meditative and it reflects on their emotions. The lyrics of their songs are very thought-provoking and the most important thing is that they are meaningful. You start to think differently when you have delved into them. I strongly recommend this CD and this band to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy good music. This band is really worth listening to.

Fast food restaurants are found almost everywhere, specially in big cities and crowded places. It is very easy for people to go there. The food is often tasty and available for everyone, because of multitude of the rastaurants and low price of the food. It is very easy to go a fast food drive-in after exhausting day at work or on your way to somewhere. It is also possible to even order the food to your home, if necessary. Fast food is bad for our health if we eat it often. The meals contain much fat, which makes us gain weight. Fast food also contains much preservatives, which affect our entire organism. They cause many heart and liver diseases. In conclusion we must not eat fast food very often. If necessary we should surely choose vegetables and other healthy food.

Books today and tomorrow

When I think about our relationship with books a question comes to my mind: `'Will there be books in the future?'' I think people read more books in the past because then there were no television and radio to entertain people. In the present people rather watch moving images from television than pick up a dusty old book. My opinion on importance of books is that there are books with empty storyline as well as there are books that are considered as true gems which contain knowledge and a great story and the importance of these books is immeasurable. Considering the fact that people in the future will be even lazier than they are now shows that the books will stay on the bookshelves or will be burned but I think that they will be converted into digital ones and will remain forever. In conclusion I think that people must read books to widen their horizon but the lack of free time will force the books to be just as decorative belongings.

The combination of 300,000 tons of dust from the burning of oil shale by power plants in the northeast part of the country and airborne pollutants from industrial centers in Poland and Germany poses a significant hazard to Estonia's air quality. Estonia's water resources have been affected by agricultural and industrial pollutants, including petroleum products, which have also contaminated the nation's soil. Some rivers and lakes within the country have been found to contain toxic sediments in excess of 10 times the accepted level for safety. The nation's land pollution problems are aggravated by the 15 million tons of pollutants that are added yearly to the existing 250 million tons of pollutants. Newspapers often include articles on political events, crime, business, art, entertainment, society and sports. Most traditional newspapers also contain columns which express the personal opinions of the writers. The first newspapers were probably handwritten newssheets that governments posted in public places. There is a fundamental distinction between daily papers : quality and popular. Quality papers cater for more sophisticated readers. They contain detailed information and analyses of a wide range of issues. There is little use of colour, and a fairly discreet use of photographs

Besides the time an individual has to spend in the kitchen, cooking a meal also requires one to make a trip to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for the food. Fast food has very many disadvantages. The greatest disadvantage of fast food is the adverse effect. It is a fact that fast food is more unhealthy than homecooked meals, as they contain higher amounts of salt, fats and calories. The greater the number of people at a meal in a fast food restaurant, the larger is the bill. Eating at fast food outlets is economical only for a single person. Most modern factories have large warehouses or warehouse-like facilities that contain heavy equipment used for assembly line production. In factory work there are some things why there is good to work, but also some things that are bad. But about the benefits of factory work, I think that the most important benefit is that when you do something so many times, then you get used to doing it right and you don't mess it up. Factory workers have big responsibility about their work, because when one worker does something wrong, then the whole product is messed up.

When i go out with my parents, we always go health food restaurant. There i order root vegetable soup and juice. Sometimes me order afters too. Hesburger and health food restaurant are very different, one is healthful and one is unhealthy. In general we should all eat a wide variety of nutritious foods, plenty of breads and cereals (particularly wholegrain), vegetables, legumes (such as chickpeas) and fruit, low salt foods, and use salt sparingly, small amounts of foods which contain added sugars. Healthly eating is not about trict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, its about feeling great, having more energy and keeping yourself as healthy as possible. Anna Täker 10d 05.02.2010

Today we have a lot of transport: cars and buses, in the main in our capital. Gases which are produced by cars contain carbon dioxide. This carbon dioxide in the air causes global warming, which is the result of the green house effect. Furthermore, it will change our climate. In addition our air is polluted by hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from plants and factors. Substantially, in Kohtla-Järve and Maardu. Our water is also polluted. Water pollution and society

Water pollution and society This essay is about fresh water and pollution. It's based on an article by David Krantz and Brad Kifferstein. I read it through and now I'm trying to give the conclusion of the article as well as express my own opinion. 70 percent of planet Earth's surface contain water. Water is the beginning of life and vital natural resource. It's vital for every living organism. That's why we have to keep the water bodies clean and stop polluting our fresh water. It's hard to believe, but planet Earth is in great danger. People can't see the whole picture. They are being indifferent to the future. Everyone thinks about themselves and tries to find a better and easier way to get rid of garbage and waste. Money is everything for them. Money

Advertising has a bad influence on children

Secondly, children are often able to remember messages targeted towards adults and kids remember the content in advertisements what will have a influence on children for a very long time. Very large influence on children has junk food commercials or ads. When children see on TV junk food commercials they want to try it, and when they do, they become to like junk food, but children do not understand that junk food is not good for their health. They are unaware of the fact that junk food does not contain nutritional value. One thing is that the people who are in junk food commercials are usually thin not fat and in some age children may think than when they eat junk food they become as thin as the models in these commercials. Thirdly, parents are often worried about what their children are looking from TV, but parents can not always protect them from bad influencing ads or commercials. Parents should teach to their children the importance and value of money

Geography of Madagascar

The island's highest peak, Maromokotro, at 2,876 metres is found in the Tsaratanana Massif, located in the far north of the country. The coastline is deeply indented; two prominent features are the excellent natural harbor at Antsiranana and the large island of Nosy-Be. The mountainous topography to the south limits the potential of a port at Antsiranana by impeding the traffic from other parts of the island. The central highlands The central highlands contain a wide variety of topographies: rounded and eroded hills, massive . granite outcrops and alluvial plains and marshes. The central highlands include the Anjafy High Plateaux and the Ankaratra Massif. A prominent feature of the central highlands is a rift valley, the largest body of water on the island, having a length of forty kilometers. This region has experienced geological subsidence, and earth tremors are frequent here. The west coast

Environmental issues in Estonia

But people produce much refuse and ways of recycling are getting old. Water pollution is also a problem in Estonia. We have factories that let their waste run into rivers. One of the biggest problems in Estonia is air pollution. Our air is polluted by exhaust fumes, because today we have a lot of cars, buses and other machines. In 2009 we had 407 cars to thousand inhabitants, which is lower than European Union average, but this number is still high. Because cars produce gases that contain carbon dioxide. This carbon dioxide in the air causes global warming, which is the result of the greenhouse effect. Tallinn wants to fight against it by offering public transportation for free, to Tallinn citizen. So that people would use more public transportation than their own car. Furthermore, it will change our climate. In addition our air is polluted by hydrogen sulfide from plants and factors (Especially in Kohtla- Järve and Maardu). Other big environment problem is garbage

cholesterol and sodium, but eating fast food every once in a while is not going to cause you problems. If you eat too much fast food over a long period of time, though, it can lead to health problems like high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity. Is some fast food healthier than others? Many fast food chains are revamping their menus to respond to customers comments. For example, some chains no longer serve foods with trans fat, and many have menu items that contain fruits and vegetables. If you are having fast food more than once a week, try to make healthier choices. Where can I find nutrition facts about fast food? Most fast food and restaurant chains post their nutrition information online. Use a search engine to find the companies web page. In a book about Planxty (The Humours of Planxty, by Leagues O'Toole), Whelan says, "It was no mistake of mine to call it Riverdance because it connected absolutely to Timedance". Legacy Riverdance continues to be performed all over the world, in a diminished format and in smaller venues. Current productions are geared towards smaller theatres, whereas past productions have been performed in large theatres and arenas. Sets have therefore been simplified and some numbers contain fewer performers than in past productions (such as those seen on the Live from New York (1996) and Live from Geneva (2002) DVDs). Each production company is named after an Irish river: Liffey, Lee, Lagan, Avoca, Shannon, Boyne, Corrib, Foyle, Moy and Bann. Bill Whelan created a Symphonic Suite from his original score, which had its United Kingdom premiere at a matinee performance of the 2014 BBC Proms on 25 August 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall; it was performed by
