August. McRae's outstanding perfomance on the Subaru WRC team enabled the team to win Constructors' title 3 times in a row('95;'96;'97). He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to motosport in '96. McRae died on 15 September 2007 when his helicopter crashed 1 mile north of Lanarkshire. In November 2008 he was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame.
