Eating habits and health

spent trying to acquire this look. 40% of 9- and 10-year-old girls are already trying to lose weight and I find this fact really terrifying. Eating disorders are a serious health problem. Three of the most common eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating or compulsive eating disorder. This can lead to many health problems, for instance an irregular heartbeat, that causes heart failure and even death. In my opinion, people are aware of the consequences of eating disorders and junk/fast food. I think, that eating disorders should be taken more seriously as this can be fatal. The eating habits of young girls should be supervised by their own parents.

Global warming

People so far have acted careless and not thinking ahead too far in the future. There have been few who have tried to stand out and make others understand what they should, tried to show what has happened so far and what will happen if no action is taken under consideration. Global warming and our part in it is a serious problem that we have to face. We have to think about the mess we leave behind for next generations to clean up. They will have to deal the consequences of our actions. In my opinion people have finally started to admit the problem, of global warming and our part in helping to fasten the process. There are projects that are conducted to help a little and to show to successful cold-blooded businessmen that it's not about who make more money it's about surviving. It took so long to start admitting our part in global warming. How long will it take to start dealing with it?

Smoking is on the increase among young people

dramatically risen over the past years. Smoking is one of the biggest causes of death and health diseases. Most of the youths start smoking to improve their self image with no attention of becoming addicted. The awareness of the harmful effects of smoking among young people has been rising but many of the young people ignore the dangers of smoking. One possible solution to reduce smoking is to educate the teens. Schools could have classes and seminars that increase the knowledge about the consequences of smoking. That way teens would be aware of the health problems such as many different cancers, heart diseases, asthma and strokes caused by cigarettes. Youths should also see the visuals how smoking ages skin and yellows teeth. Also a similar meetings for parents and students should be organised. After this parents might be more intrested in and responsible for their child' s health. Teens would care about their health more if they knew about the consequences of tobacco

Genetic Engineering

the human's health. Introduction in a human diet of mutagen food can lead to distribution of new pathogenic bacteria and also to increase the number of people who are suffering from food allergies. Some grades of transgene plants perniciously affect wrecker organisms and, as a result, they affect helpful organisms too. The possibility of escaping of an alien gene in the wild nature is not excluded, and it is difficult to submit what consequences can be. But it is clear that genetic pollution is capable to break natural balance and to lead to the ecological disaster which consequences can be much more dangerous than chemical and radioactive pollution. All things concidered, I think, that genetic engineering can be very helpful, but it is needed to make more researchers to prevent mutagen changes, which can be harmfull for human. If genetic engineering becomes more safe, many problems of humanity will be solved.

Marijuana Facts For Teens artikkel

marijuana use. Teens may think that marijuana isn't dangerous because it's not a "hard" drug like cocaine or heroin, but what they don't know is that marijuana has its own set of dangers. Everyone has heard that marijuana is a "gateway drug" and this idea has been a point of debate for many years. However, even if marijuana does not lead to the use of other drugs, there are still negative consequences that result from the use of marijuana on its own. These include short term and long term consequences that include anxiety, drop in IQ, cancer, and asthma. Marijuana is not as harmless as many people think it is, and because of this it is important to get help if you or someone you love is using or abusing marijuana. maintenance. Treatment programs can be successful in treating the addiction. Without treatment, active drug addicts often end up dead, incarcerated, or in institutions. Behavioral addiction Behavioral addiction is a form of addiction which does not rely on drugs or alcohol. Increasingly referred to as process addiction or non-substance-related addiction behavioral addiction includes a compulsion to repeatedly engage in an action until said action causes serious negative consequences to the person's physical, mental, social, and/or financial well- being. One sign that a behavior has become addictive is if it persists despite these consequences. 2. Drug addictions The most problematic drug addictions among teenagers nowadays are smoking, drinking alcohol and doing drugs. Smoking Smoking is the practice where tobacco is burned and the resulting smoke (consisting of particle and gaseous phases) is inhaled. The practice may have begun as early as 50003000 BC

Hypermobility. The effect of hypermobility on flexibility

Tutor: Tallinn 2016 Joint Hypermobility Syndrome (JMS) is a condition which describes joints that are able to bend further than normal. The syndrome is generally induced by changes in bone structure. It occurs in about 10%-25% of the world’s population.1 Joint hypermobility causes several effects, both positive and negative. This essay describes the syndrome briefly as well as discusses the benefits and consequences of the condition. However, the expedience of the condition outweighs the negative issues JMS can bring about. Hypermobile joints are a serious case in which the tissues that hold the joint together – ligaments – are detached. In most cases, hypermobility is caused by the deviation of tissue proteins - such as collagen - synthesis; bone structure: bone shape or the depth of the joint sockets; muscle structure: muscle tone and strength; poor sense of proprioception; genetic heritability

Nobody can win a war. People started to make a war thousands years ago. During this time they had different purposes, but the final was the same a war caused a great deal of sorrow. But is it worth fighting? Are there any winners or losers in war? Firstly, both sides get bored with a feud. It makes much money, physical and moral strength. Not only soldiers civilian population gets tired of being in a danger and worrying about relatives and friends. Secondly, the consequences of a war are horrible. Terrible memories would not leave people. Every time they recall those events, they suffer again because no one is able to make somebody happy fighting. Thirdly, a lot of people die. Families lose their breadwinners and children become orphans. Moreover, some of them may become homeless, it takes lots of time to rehabilitate and restore cities. Mercy kill as a way out

Mercy kill as a way out Mercy killing has always been a controversial topic, some believe that practicing it should be punished because it could lead to bad consequences but others think a person should never be punished just for helping. Mercy killing should not be punished. People with terminal illness usually experience a lot suffering and when they have a choice whether to live in pain and be a burden to their family and hospital or die in peace, many usually prefer the second choice. Some prefer to die with dignity and if mercy killing would be punished they simply would have the freedom of choose. On the other hand mercy killing should be punished. If mercy killing becomes something usual younger people might start thinking life has a smaller value. A tremendous amount of resources is used to keep the terminally ill people alive and doctors might start using euthanasia as something to save up the resources...

Technology - for or against

Just imagine, if machinery had not been invented, we would spend whole days on doing our house work. Moreover, as we live in the information society, collecting data is essential for us. It is also more comfortable to search for information without having to leaf through an encyclopedia and using a contemporary computer instead.. On the other hand, up-to-date technology may replace human's labour. We entrust technology a lot of duties, so that it can have harmful consequences. If technology progresses, there will be no need for human's work. As a result, the part of population will become unemployed. Furthermore, technology has an effect on psyche, especially children are at risk of it. They lose themselves in the individualistic activities and a bedroom becomes a place to socialise. All in all, technology has as positive and as negative effect. It will be beneficial if we appreciate humanity more than technology and do not forget about its cons.

How global warming will change the way we live in future?

Hello ladies and gentelmans Today I'm going to talk about how global warming will change the way we live in future. In fact durning the twentieth century global temperature went up by over 0,7 Celsius degree. It looks pretty small number but even slight Climate change leads to serious consequences. Firstly, global warming will cause that glaciers start to melt. And as a result, the water level will raise and cities and villages which are located near oceans and sees will be flooded. Secondly, if we don't stop global warming, we will bserve more examples of extreme weather such as heat waves, storm clouds, which may lead to floods, droughts and forest fires. Next conseqences of global warming is that oceans temperature will go up

A person must suffer from the results of his own unwise actions. We all have responsibility for our actions. And everything we do wrong we are responsible for. And some major mistakes we make we have to be ready to be punished for it. If we make mistakes in our life then we have to be ready to suffer the consequences. Like if we leave the school without finishing it. Then we don't have the needed education and then we can't get so good jobs. Nowadays to get a good and well paid job you need a good education. And when we don't then we have to accept with something not so good. If we fail to do something that we have planned. Like when we fail an exam. Then our school results aren't so good, that all affects our future and our plans to go to colleges and universities. And when we don't achieve our goals, then our life is a little bit more complicated. We can't go to the universities we wish. We can all avoi...

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children Our planet has resources which are necessary for people's everyday life. As the population is growing the resources are decreasing. One of the things that affects the life on the earth is overconsumption. We consume more than what the earth can regenerate. This is a big problem because our exhaustible resources are running out. This is a problem that has huge consequences. It means that in the future people may not have enough resources, beacuse right now we are using too much. Secondly, there is a huge amout of waste and pollution. Clean air is our most valuable resource, but it is getting more and more polluted, in the same way as the water. For example, the pollution of water kills hundreds of thousands of birds and water animals. As a result of pollution , there are holes in the ozone layer, which in its turn loses some of its protection.

Some people develop bad habits in their computer use that cause them significant problems in their lives. The types of behavior and negative consequences are similar to those of known addictive disorders. Effects: Excessive computer use may result in, or occur with: Lack of social interaction. Using the computer for pleasure, gratification, or relief from stress. Feeling irritable and out of control or depressed when not using it. Is global climate change man-made or not?

Essay. Is global climate change (global warming) man-made or not? Over the last hundred years the Earth has been warming. This warming is believed to lead to many issues such as increasing of nature disasters, weather changes and draught. All of these consequences could become a reason of economic decay in many countries, especially in some undeveloped countries. Therefore it is very important to find out who is guilty of the climate changing. Many people are confident that the reason of global warming is man made carbon dioxide. Over the last hundred years our society has been developing very fast: there has been built a huge amount of different factories, has been made so many inventions in all fields of human activity. Unfortunately, places like these are often filled with pedophiles, who usually add their victims through various messengers and start chatting. They show themselves through a web-camera and such, and in return they ask for some pictures of the victim. Sometimes the youngsters are too gullible and they do as told. The consequences might be very extreme. There have been cases where the victims find photos of themselves naked on the Internet. The worst part is that sometimes they can't handle the pressure and commit suicide. Due to the constant improvement of technology there are many hackers online, who create viruses to hack into other people's computers. However, the term is mostly used loosely or humorously to describe a person who is inordinately fond of chocolate. The chocolate addiction happens mostly with women because they eat more emotionally than men. Why do people get addicted to it The essential components of addiction are intense craving for something, loss of control over the use of it, and continued use despite negative consequences. Studies have shown that people can exhibit all three of these components in relation to food, particularly food that contains sugar or fat. Since chocolate contains both, it is often used in studies of food addiction. Should mercy killing be punished? Mercy killing, also known as euthanasia, refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. This type of killing is legal in some countries, but should it be punished instead? Although, it is still a type of killing, it is for a good cause. There are people who suffer and want to rather die than to endure agonies, euthanasia is an answer for them. Thus, mercy killing is very humane and reasonable thing to do and does not deserve punishment. The negative aspect of euthanasia is that it is still a form of killing. One should not be in judge over others life, even when it is for a good cause. The fact that euthanasia could be misused is not less important. In conclusion, although mercy killing is a form of taking someone’s life, it should not be punishable when it is for greater good. Is the purpose of la...

thus possibly leaving a wrong impression of the reasons for those situations and actions. To my mind, this novel is meant for the youngsters nearing adulthood, as their thinking is more critical, making the themes of the novel more understandable. On the whole, despite not being the most suitable for the youngest of readers, I find that the novel is a great insight into the mind of a troubled youngster attempting to find their place in life, overcoming obstacles and dealing with the consequences of their decisions, which is why it should and will remain in the list of timeless literature classics.

Contitional sentences

In this type of conditional we can use when instead of if. E.g., If/When you mix blue and red, you get purple. If/When you don't water flowers, they die. (present simple in both parts of the sentence) If/When I asked her to come with us, she always said no. (past simple in both parts of the sentence) 1 First conditional If-clause present simple; Main clause future tense (or: can, must, may, etc., + bare infinitive) Used to talk about the consequences of a possible action (a real or very probable situation in the present or future). E.g., If I write my essay this afternoon, I will have time to go out tonight. (or: I might go out tonight). (It is still morning, and it is quite possible that I will do this.) NOTE: With type 1 conditionals we can use unless + affirmative verb (= if + negative verb). E.g., I will not be able to come unless Joe gives me a lift. (= If Joe does not give me a lift, ...)

common goal to overcome them. Changing the world does not happen overnight, but it would not happen by not making an effort either. “When the whole world is silent, even once voice becomes powerful.” These strong words said by 16-year-old education activist Malala Yousafzai have had a big impact on people that have doubted themselves about for example starting a fundraising event or listing up as a volunteer to help people that cannot get proper education.
