Golf

Golf Golf is a precision club and ball sport, in which golfers use many types of clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a golf course using the fewest number of strokes. While the modern game of golf originated in 15th century Scotland, the game's ancient origins are unclear and much debated. Some historians trace the sport back to the Roman game of paganica, in which participants used a bent stick to hit a stuffed leather ball. One theory asserts that paganica spread throughout Europe as the Romans conquered most of

History of Football

known as `goals', basic positioning (notably that some of each team's best players were left to `guard the goal') and the objective as scoring the first goal. Even some details were included, such as avoiding high tackles (referred to as `striking'). That said, it would be almost exactly two centuries until the formation of the modern game took place. The decisive moment was October 26th 1863 when, following a meeting by all the clubs in existence in England at the Freemason's Tavern in London's Great Queen Street, the Football Association was founded. Five subsequent meetings over the next two months saw the drawing up of the code, predominantly informed by the recently published Cambridge Rules but excluding regulations on running with the ball `properly' and the acceptance of `hacking'. The latter caused considerable uproar, with the representative from Blackheath Rugby

Report "youth activities"

The aim of this report is to analyse the hobbies of the Estonian and the Russian youth in Tallinn. It is based on Estonian human Development Report 2009. it seems that Estonian and Russian youth most like sport activities ,in addition they are concerned about studying languages too.Dancing is also an occupation what is very popular amongst younger generation. It appears they have a lot of similar hobbies although percentages seem to different by nationality. These are drama groups, health clubs, folk groups, religious groups and car driving. In general it seems taht Russian and Estonian children are very active and keen on to providing for a bright future. Despite of many similarities there are some differences too.Surprisingly Estonian youngsters are not very interested in photography, pets' clubs, computer studies and youth societies.Although for compensation, they sing in choirs and they do handicraft. As we can see from the chart, Russian

The Republic of Kenya

Kenya in the central highlands region and is one of Kenya's only virgin forests. Today the mountains are home to leopard, bongo, buffalo and elephant and the lower lying areas are the territory of the lion, serval cat and even bushbucks. There are more beautiful places to visit, you only have to know what you want to see. If you’re the type who wants to explore a bit of the Nairobi nightlife and safari, it may be wise to start at bar first, since the clubs and discos in Kenya don’t get busy until around midnight and don’t close until the sun rises. Several clubs stage "cultural nites" which feature music, traditional foods and drinks from some of Kenya's main ethinic communities. An excellent opprtuinty to see Kenyans unplugged and hear the biggest local music acts. Shopping in Kenya is dominated by souvenir sellers. Handmade items may be purchased at market stalls, roadside stands, and from street peddlers

Leaflet - Making New Friends

Making New Friends Hey, all the students! Feeling kind of lost and lonely in the new school and city? Let's come together! Now, when the school year has started, there's a lot more of us circulating around the campus. Since there have been coming in students from other countries, I'd like to point out some good places where all young people could meet and greet. The usual locations are of course concerts, sport and any other clubs but in case you have some kind of a hobby, you should dig out where you could meet people with the same interests. Our school has always had many interesting events through the year and here are some of the near future ones: A lot alikes banding together doesn't matter weather you're an athlete, a cheerleader, a musician or a writer, you are not the only one, so school is supporting different activity clubs. New cafeteria's opening we do need places to eat and drink!

People these days are thinking less and drinking more

whom they can rely on. Another suggestion is that the media should not promote drinking. Commercials are very effective with teenagers because commercials are very colourful and memorable. Also, when teenagers see some beautiful advertisement with lots of people who are having a party with drinks they want to be like them. What is more, these commercials teach them that a party is more fun with different alcoholic drinks. Finally, different clubs and pubs security guards should ask more effectively for documents to prove the age of the visitors. Too many teenagers are visiting clubs because they can get in easily. When security guards ask for documents then youngsters are not able to get any alcohol because shops are also closed by the time. All things considered, media should not promote drinking and people have to think more carefully before they take their alcohol bottle. When commercials are banned and people have

Barcelona

It's vibrant and hip, it buzzes till dawn and will leave you exhausted, exhilarated and aching for more. For a sleepless weekend, Barcelona is the place to go. CATALANS The Catalans really know how to have a good time. They love life, love to party and see little point in sleeping when they could be out enjoying the night scene. At the hour when most people in Britain are heading home to bed, the action in Barcelona is just warming up. And when most Scottish clubs are closing their doors, the hippest clubs in this city are just opening theirs. GAUDI Most tourists will want to take in stunning sights such as Gaudi's wackily- designed flats, his unfinished Sagrada Famiglia church and the city's more traditional Santa Eulalia cathedral. Young locals, however, are more likely to be found worshipping the latest chart hits in a noisy club. RELAX It doesn't take long to get into the swing of things, as I found out.

Where would you prefer to live and why?

Where would you prefer to live and why? I would prefer to live in a big city instead of a village or a small town. For example Tallinn, London, New York or Paris. To start with, I would like to live in a big city because of its advantages. Big cities usually have more opportunities to spend your day and night. There are cinemas, coffee shops, theatres, shopping centres, libraries and night clubs. Although you need money to attend different exhibitions and shows big city also offers you free activities. Secondly, there are lots of banks, company offices and factories where people can work. That is the second reason I think big city life is better than a life in a small village. Last but not least, people usually think that they would not like to live in a big city because there are too many people there and they would feel suffocated. But there are areas outside the

What i value most in a friend

Her name is Anna. We started to get along very well and we did everything together. I think people make friends because they need someone to talk to and a friend who can play with. I have a lot in common with my friend Merit. We do a lot of thing together.Like..go shopping and study together. Also we like to watch comedy movies. And in summer we always go beach together to sunbathe and swim. She is very trusty, friendly and funny. Both of us enjoy dancing. We use to visit clubs very often and party there. We also have differences, like everybody does. Merit doesn't like hip-hop music, I absolutely love it. In some ways we are very different. We have different activitis and lifestyles. My friend lives with her parents at home, but I live with my boyfriend. Some of my friends party a lot, however I stay at home most of my time. Firstly a good friend is someone who is honest! Friends should never lie to each other and stick together.

Visions of a Sustainable World

At the centre of the idea of sustainability is an ethical imperative to pass on a undiminished future to our children. To bring our world toward sustainability — or any other goal — we need to take different kinds of steps, which require different kinds of knowledge, talent, skill, and work. Future will be sustainable when citizens are concerned enough about the environment that they want to make a difference. It will happen when diverse groups from industry, environment, schools, service clubs, business, governments & the public come together and work towards a common vision of sustainability for our communities - balancing the needs of human and natural systems. My vision is of a world free of war, hatred, and greed. It is a world in balance with nature, a place where poverty and starvation have been abolished and replaced with equality for all. It is a time where we have liberated ourselves from the grip of racism and discrimination and embrace individual and cultural diversity

Do live in the countryside or in the city? essay

I think living in the city has a lot of disadvantages. The first aspect that appears in my mind is the crime rate. I do not want to live in a place, where I always have to be cautious and ready to protect myself. Also living in the city is bad for your health because the air is polluted and there is so much noise which is tiring. On the other hand living in the city has many good sides. There is usually something to do. You can watch movies in the cinema, visit bars, pubs, clubs, casinos and you can go shopping. If you have children you do not have to worry about lack of schools and kindergartens. In conclusion when you are a child there is no place better to grow up then a country home. In the far future I will definitely live in the countryside with my wife and children and have hectares of land. But now as I am finishing school and I am a bachelor I want to live in the city in an apartment.

Considering everything, I think every person should think about the necessity of their time online or playing games - whether it is for the benefit of a person, or on the contrary, leads to delay its development. Maybe, you should not give the computer, but the fact that spending time on it to better control - it is unique.

Robert Burns

Burns Night A Burns Supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns. The suppers are normally held on or near the poet's birthday, January 25, sometimes known as Burns Night, although they may in principle be held at any time of the year. Burns suppers are most common in Scotland (and also in Russia, where nationally televised Burns nights are held in the Kremlin). Wherever there are Burns clubs, expatriate Scots, or indeed lovers of Burns' poetry the celebrations take place. The first suppers were held in Ayrshire at the end of the 18th century by his friends on the anniversary of his death, July 21, In Memoriam and, although the date has changed to the 25th of January since then, they have been a regular occurrence ever since. Comparison of Education in Britain and Estonia

but there are by far more than 3 compulsory subjects for Estonian Gymnasium students than for the Sixth Form students in Britain. Lastly, schools in Britain seem to offer more facilities than in Estonia. Our schools usually do not have tennis and squash courts or football and hockey fields of their own. In addition, British schools provide their students with a wider range of extracurricular activities like martial arts, dancing and singing lessons, cooking, photography clubs, theatre groups, practice of chess and many different sports. Briti muusika

Benny Goodman and his Orchestra were the 'King of the Swing', as were Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw. The music was fast and frantically paced and led to dances being banned from dance halls, as the young women being flung into the air by their partners showed their stocking tops and underwear. Jazz continued to be popular. 1940s - The Second World War brought fast, frantic (and often American) dance music - boogie-woogie or jitterbug. Dances were held in church halls, village halls, clubs, Air Force bases - everywhere! But slower, romantic songs were also popular as loved ones went away to fight, such as Vera Lynn's 'We'll Meet Again' and the song about coming home again, 'The 'White Cliffs of Dover'. After the war 'skiffle' bands became popular. These bands used household items, such as washboards and tea chests, as part of their set of instruments! Tommy Steele, who later became very famous, first played in a skiffle band. 1950s - Rock and Roll became very popular.

The earliest known recording of a jazzflute being used as solo instrument, was by Cuban clarnetist Alberto Socarras, recording "Shooting the Pistol" with Clarence Williams band and setting a milestone for future jazzflutist.
