Lebel and the Jackal

de Gaulle. Using fake identities and killing many people, he fails his mission. Claude Lebel was a professional detective, who was hired to catch the Jackal and prevent him from killing de Gaulle, after many failed attempts, he succeeds. The Jackal was known in the book under many names, such as Alexander Duggan, Per Jensen, Marty Schulberg, Andre Martin and Charles Calthrop. That shows that he was indeed a very clever man, he saw everything coming and thought ahead. He was very assured and he knew, what he was doing, he had it all figured out on his mind. He was, as a human, actually quite nice to some people, but he could not let anyone to interrupt his task, otherwise he killed them. The Jackal had to make many difficult decisions during the hunt, what were a matter of life and death and he always chose the one, which let him live. I think that in his private life he was very handsome and gentlemanlike

News report

Two very clever burglars were arrested in the early hours of the morning. The incident occured in the alley behind Pearson's Electronics Shop, in the South Street. Joe Lee, 30, and Peeter Brown, 23, had just finished loading a van with thousands of pounds worth of electronics equipment when they were surrounded by policeman. The two men had been breaking into electronics shop in the Forest city area for several months. They had continuosly eluded police by cleverly disarming alarms and changing getaway vehicles. Captain Green of the police department said that they had been on burglars trail for some time now and that they had only been waiting for the right moment to catch them in the act.

Kõne "Learning in itself is not as important as personality and character"

Learning in itself is not as important as personality and character When I was choosing a topic what I'm going to talk about, I read: Learning in itself is not as important as personality and character, and I momentarily knew that this is a topic what I really like. First of all: What I think, which one is more important ? To be smart or individual ? And I have to say that I am absolutely sure that there is nothing better to be clever and intelligent. Like our headmaster said on September 1st, that when you are smart, you will be rich and powerful also. Education and knowledge are foundations of our life. Some people think, that it doesn't matter how educated you are. Important is how unique you are, how good impression you left, how beautiful or original you are. I don't want to say that it's a bad thing, but what they gonna do when their personality doesn't help them anymore

It is better to be sensible than sensitive

If you are a sensible person, then it is easier for you to communicate with other people, because you don´t scare them away with your emotions. Nobody likes to hang out with capricious friend. If you are very sensitive, you show all your feelings to others. It is not a good thing because when others always see your feelings, they see your weaknesses. And then it is easier for them to hurt your feelings and make you unhappy. Sensible people are clever and smart and they find their way out of difficult situations. Even if they are cornered into a bad position, they manage to figure their way out. Sensible people are more active than sensitive people. Sensitive person just likes to sit and watch, they are not so active. If your friend is sensible then you can always talk to him about your worries. He knows and tries to help you. Your secrets are also safe with him/her. I think that I am a sensible person, and I´m happy about it

lasted for 14 months. Katy herself has talked about the subject and said that at first he was generous, funny, caring, considering and very lovable. It was after they had been married for 6 months or so when he got distant, reserved, indifferent and did not try as much as she did to fix the relationship. He has been described as a very funny, highly eccentric, volatile, sexy, playful, provocative, rebellious, narcissistic, truthful and a clever man. He is not the kind of person you would miss walking down the street. He has said that he looks like a second Jesus. This man has sholder-length dark curly and very messy hair, which he has said only works on a man when you are famous, otherwise you would look like a mental illness. He has a short beard and is quite skinny and scruffy looking. Some people have even said that he looks effeminate and homeless. His style is quite hard to describe

The invention of the car changed the world

Everything has it ´s own good and bad sides, which often compensate eachother. It´s hard to discuss how important something is about one thing and how ,,nothing" is the other thing. In that situation we have to make compromises and stay tolerant. Of course cars are bad and make our gorgeous nature fade away but we also need those machines to keep on moving as we are used to. Let´s just hope there will be next smart inventor, who will come up with some kind of clever idea to move from one place to another wtihout getting on other peoples way or polluting the atmosphere.

who has not dreamed about money. I am talking about a huge amount of money. If I were a millionaire, I could own all those things I have not had in my life before. First, if I were the lucky one, who would have a chance to be a millionaire, there would be millions of ways how to spend it. As to the point that my family has been the most precious fortune for me, I would give at least one third of that to my loved ones. I think that this would be a clever action. Second, if I would have the chance then I would purchase all these things I have wanted in my entire life. I would definitely buy an enormous but cozy house where I could finally make my dream come true - have as many pets as I want! I have wanted to own as many pets as possible since I was a little girl, so it would be my opportunity to play and take care of all those kittens and puppies. Third, I would also spend much money on different schools. I have always

When she saw her father giving powerful and confident speeches, it motivated her to become as looked up as her father was as a political figure. What gave her a push into politics was wish to make a change in the world, Not to become someone, but to change something that would matter. She was wise and clever enough to do so. What drove her most was her remarkably strong will to stand for her beliefs, disregarding what others said or believed to be better. She strongly believed in her decisions and never backed downs on a decision what she had made. Her terrible stubbornness is probably why she was such a success as a prime minister. When presenting her thoughts, she was laughed off numerous times not just because of her gender but also cause she was known as the daughter of a grocer

Thanks to the clever horse, they avoided a broken bridge and got home later but safe. On another occasion, on a trip to Oxford they stopped for the night. A careless man smoked in the stables and caused a big fire. Black Beauty and Ginger were rescued by James but both he and Ginger were unwell after that and had to rest. was man who valued knowledge. His greatest wish was to give his children the best education in his power. It was from him where Robert received his love of books. When Robert was six he and his brother Gilbert went to school, but only after a few months the teacher left and the school was closed. Their father persuaded two or three neighburs to join him in engaging another teacher. The new teacher was called John Murdoch. Although he was only eighteen, he was a very clever teacher. Robert interested him more than other pupils. When Robert´s father decided to try his hand at farming their family moved. John Murdoch stayed with the family and continued teaching the boys for two more years. On the other hand Robert´s teachers were folk songs and ballads of his country. He knew a great number of them by heart. These years Robert read any book he could get. At the age of thirteen Robert had to

If Father then left the room she would smile briefly at Tom or tidy his hair with her fingers.” Tom wanted to spend as much time with his mother as he could. But when his mother got ill Julie prohibited being around her that much. He did not like the evenings without her. Tom hated and was afraid of going to school because of the bullying. It was hard to force him to go to school, he screamed and pounded. He was clever in a petty and argumentative way — the perfect victim on the playground. “Tom was just this sort of whom to nag at” (translated). He believed that being a girl would had been easier because girls were never hit. Tom had a couple of friends who he sometimes played with outside, but they were never allowed to come to the house. Tom was still a little child who did not understand that much in this world. When their mother died

Even if the movie were not based on a real story and would have been made up, it would be a masterpiece in any case. Of course the topic is common which makes the movie more interesting and exciting for us. The director David Fincher has done a great job by not trying to force some characters to the audience. He wants us to draw a conclusion and pick a side, not the film. Which is a clever thought forming many discussions on the movie. It is the year 2003, Mark Zuckerberg and his girlfriend are breaking up in a bar. Moving on, we see clearly the thoughtless of Mark as he hurts people with just words. From now on we realize that our leading character will not be so likable and his need for acceptance is quite irritating. Every intention to gain respect ends in rejection or hurting someone. Henry told Basil that it's his best work yet and should it sent to the best art gallery in London. Basil refuses to send, because he has pu too much of himself into it. Lord Henry wants to meet this mysterious boy, but Basil doesn't want him to because he's afraid that Henry will change and influence Dorian by his clever words. However, Lord Henry gets his wish--Dorian shows up that very afternoon. The both men thinks that Dorian is very good-looking man with his bright blue eyes and gold hair. Also he had an open, honest face, no dark secrets in that. Over the course of the day, Henry manages to totally change Dorian's perspective on the world. From that point on, Dorian's previously innocent point of view is dramatically different--he begins to see life as Lord Henry does as a succession of

She was somehow related to the girl. Turner was not a very nice person. She was very calm when she heard about the murder and did not seem to be surprised nor sad, more like confused. The hotel staff wasn't very fond of her and neither were the detectives. She seemed to be clever and hiding something. Basil Blake was a murder suspect with an arrogant attitude towards the police. He was having parties at his house all the time with young women coming over. He was a rich man working in the film business. He did not want to talk to the police very much and the neighbours did not like him at all, he was not really kind to people. Mr and Mrs Bantry were a married couple in their 60's I think. killing all the people that can somehow resist. As Blomkvist is writing a book that reveals the secret Section, the organization does everything that could put an end to publishing the piece. They even decided to have Blomkvist killed and plant cocaine and a wad of cash in his apartment, so his death looks drug-related. Luckily Blomkvist cooperated with a security company (Milton Secutity). Despite the Section's clever action, they had no chance to fight against Blomkvist. My opinion · This book is enthralling. · Although there is a lot happening in the book at the same time, it's not messy, but systematic. · Everything is clear and understandable. · Really difficult to prepare this presentation. · There were many other stories beside the head story that I told you about. Also were there a lot of characters and with every story came some new characters.

Aboriginal Food Australian Aboriginal food was very healthy. It was all based on thousands of years of experience and knowledge never written down, but passed on through generations. Their diet was perfectly healthy, they got all the minerals and vitamins, we get from our food today. They were very clever at catching turtles. They also had an incredible knowledge about Australian plants that are often poisonous, and what they couldn't eat they turned into bush medicine. Sisters

" "You idiot!" But Creasha only smiled as an answer. Soon the both girls were climbing on the roof. "Wait," said Creasha, the oldest. "What is it?" "What do you mean, can't you hear that?" "Hear what?" "This...I don't know how to describe it,,, It's like a clock's ticking or something!" "Maybe it's a bomb?" asked Suzan with an irony in her voice, her imagination was very rich. Creasha went really pale and shook her sister. "A bomb? You really think so?" "It could be. Mom and dad are clever politician they have plenty of enemies, just as Danny has!" "Damn it! You're right!" "Oh yea, I saw something like that in a western movie as well..." "You're a genius! We must escape now, right?" "Well, do we have a choice?" "But what happened in the film?" "The characters jump off the roof." "Actually, in case you didn't notice, it's about 4 meters downfall." "So? The true heroes face 20!" "Alright then...ready?" "Sure!"

Merde Actually

Merde Actually By Stephen Clarke "Merde Actually" is written by Stephen Clarke, who is a British journalist and a novelist living in Paris. When he first arrived in Paris, he experienced a cultural shock and got inspired by it. He started to keep a diary of his experiences and decided to publish it as a novel when the Anglo-French relationships were at their worst during the Iraq War spring 2003. Therefore his novels (he has written three in this series) have become enormously popular all around the world, especially because they are partly true. Stephen Clarke himself still lives in Paris with his French girlfriend. This novel is considered to be seriously funny and a comedy with a message. "Merde Actually" has one main character whose name is Paul West, but there are also many other significant characters, that come from the previous book "A Year in...

Sexualisation of women in advertising

developed. Sexist marketing, such as Burger King’s, have a tremendous impact in shaping teenagers’ values in life. When I first encountered this repulsive text, I happened to be standing next to a group of 13-14 year old boys who were also looking at Burger King’s commercial. To my surprise their opinion differed greatly as they didn’t find the advertisement revolting at all! In fact they found it clever and funny. This was the moment when I felt that writing this opinion column is simply essential. I believe that there are crucial problems in our society when a young teenage boy looks at these sexist adds, like Burger King’s and thinks that it is normal and acceptable to be that disrespectful towards women. That kind of thinking might result in males’ sexism and demeaning behavior toward women.

"The case for socialism"

The case for socialism Four National faults Economic Inequality. The distribution of income and property is amazingly unequal. The most recent investigations suggest that 10 per cent of the population recieve over 45 per cent of the national money income, while 90 per cent recieve the remaining 55 per cent. The distribution of property is even more uniequal. 1 per cent of the population own 60 per cent of the saleable assets of the nations. Individual incomes range from £1 000 000 a year to £50 per year. This extreme degree of inequality is due to the right of inheritance at present vested in the legal institution of property. Large individual fortunes are, for the most part, made up of inherited property. The rich, as a class, are born with silver spoon in their mouths and the economic privileges that they enjoy were not acquired by the possession or exercise of great talents, but by the accident of birth. Social inequality. The appara...

All Marketers are liars

commercials and companies that make pharmaceuticals. Great stories are subtle. Surprisingly, the less a marketer spells out, the more powerful the story becomes. Great stories happen fast. First impressions are far more powerful than we give them credit for. Great stories don´t always need eight- pages colour brochures or a face- to- face meeting. Great stories are rarely aimed to everyone. Average people have too many different points of view about life. Consumers are clever and they´ll see throught your deceit at once. And most of all, great stories agree with our worldview. The best stories don´t teach people anything new. Consumers are complict in marketing. Consumers believe stories. Without this belief, there is no marketing. A marketer can spend plenty on promoting a product, but unless consumers are actively engaged in believeing the story. MARKETERS AREN´T REALLY LIARS They are just storytellers. It´s the consumers who are liars

Powerpointi esitlus vanalinna objektidest

Long ago, so the story goes, a town alderman fell ill and summoned the apothecary to prescribe a cure. The expert apothecary knew an elaborate formula he was certain would work, but the alderman insisted that the apothecary test the medicine on himself. As fate would have it, the apothecary caught a nasty cold, so the preparation (and guinea pig) duty fell to his young apprentice, Mart. Being a clever lad, Mart replaced each bitter ingredient with a sweet one. Not only did the tasty remedy work, but the alderman loved it so much that he ordered it in large quantities and made it famous throughout Tallinn and beyond. The sweet bread-like confection became known as Mardileib, or Mart's bread.
