The results in table 8.1 show that the measuring deviation during the process stays well within the
deviation calculated by the calibration of Metrosert AS water meter measuring equipment. Using
one optical sensor with the process decreases the time consumption by 6.25 %. Equipping the
measuring device with 6 optical sensors decreases the time consumption of measurements by
61.73 %.
Calcualtions show that one optical sensor reaces its cost break-even point in 45 working days.
While the equpping of measuring device with 6 optical sensors might cost 2700 € it will start
making profit in just 12 working days. The installation and training of the staff has not been
considered in the calculations.
