Connecting Ideas Logically and Effectively

UNIT 6 Connecting Ideas Logically and Effectively The aim of the section is to assist you to produce an effective topic outline: a skeleton of your document. If this stage of the production process is done properly all you really need are the language control techniques to connect your ideas logically and effectively. If you have a well documented list of techniques to connect your ideas effectively the writing process is less formidable. You will want to know how to join similarities, compare and contrast certain facts, introduce the next topic, offer a supporting idea, or refer to previously presented facts. You will also need to know how to present different shades of argument to produce logically a recommendation you wish to make. This requires an ability to emphasise certain facts and 'bury' others. However, all facts need to be linked to give a logical flow. This unit will give you language practice in...

Business Intelligence Governance

Business Intelligence Governance

Probleemipüstitus Klassikalises suures ettevõttes on korraga käsil hulk erinevaid IT projekte. Tihti on keeruline projekte niimoodi prioritiseerida, et nii tänased "põletavad" vajadused kui ettevõtte pikaajalised eesmärgid saaksid rahuldatud. IT projektide haldamiseks ehk "IT governance'iks" nimetatakse ettevõttesisest reeglistikku, mille järgi ärivajadusi ja võimalusi prioritiseeritakse ning uusi projekte ellu kutsutakse. Viimastel aastatel on populaarne ärianalüüsisüsteemide (Business Intelligence) rajamine. Pakutud lahendus BI haldamiseks nimetatakse ettevõtte protsessi, mille eesmärgiks on hoolitseda ettevõtte ärianalüüsi huvide efektiivse täitmise eest.

future. In the United Kingdom, the GDP per capita was about 33,200 euros in 2013. That is considerably more than in Estonia. The unemployment rate in the UK is around 6% which is a bit lower than in Estonia. While comparing these two figures, it could be said that the UK is doing economically better than Estonia, but it has to be remembered that the UK is bigger and much more influential as well. If I were able to change something in Estonian business life, I would reduce the amount of taxes people have to pay from their monthly income. Currently, the difference between gross income and what people actually earn is quite large. I understand that it is quite unrealistic that this reduction could be remarkable, as the government has to get money from somewhere, but I believe that this is something that would improve the life of many working people.

Also ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) vendors, such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, PeopleSoft, positioned their solutions as vehicles for business process redesign and improvement. ,,when Henry Ford implemented the assembly line in 1908, he was in fact reengineering, radically changing the way of thinking in an organization)." Of course that is the most common wrong belief. Secretary is actually really important in the company. But what are Secretary's main tasks and why is she so important in business? I think that Secretary is very important person in the company. All clients and guests meet the secretary first so she is the first contact of the company and its reputations depends on how great is the customer service. She is like a business card of the company. Secretary greets clients and if needed, forwards clients to the right place. I think Secretary job gives a lot of variety of different tasks. But we have lots of students and universities which are internationally appreciated. I am also new business student in university and i have my own opinion. How can i see the life in Estonia? Positive side is definetly the location. We are located near the Baltic sea, which means that around us there is one of the fastest growing market. Also we are near the biggest cities in Europe. It means that we have lots of tourists who want to visit our country. Positive side is that we have unique nature and old town. a blowtorch. She wound up liking it so much that she gave up her IT job to join me in my career change." The same happened with Annie and Paul Clayton, both 42. "We both worked in the police for nearly 20 years," says Annie. "But Paul had become disillusioned and had a friend who was a tree surgeon. He started helping him out and he loved it, so he gave up the police. I'd turn up with sandwiches and realised I loved it too, so now we run a business together." Some of the most successful career changes come out of pursuing a hobby, as Bob Jennings, 53, knows all too well. Having been offered redundancy from a laboratory supplies company where he'd worked for 32 years, he built a 15ft stitch and glue boat. "I decided to do a 10-month course to learn more about boat building and while there, I decided this could be a fantastic career option. I've finished the course and am currently going for job interviews."

flowers. Flowers should be given in odd numbers. Gifts are usually opened when received. Dining Etiquette Arrive on time. Punctuality is expected. Call if running late. Check to see if shoes are being worn in the house. Do not expect a tour of the house - homes are private. Dress conservatively. Try and offer to help the hostess with the preparation or clearing up after a meal is served. This will be turned down but is nonetheless polite. Do not discuss business. Reciprocate any hospitality received. Table Manners Table manners are relatively formal in Estonia. Remain standing until invited to sit down. Table manners are Continental, i.e. the fork is held in the left hand and the knife in the right while eating. Do not begin eating until the hostess starts or someone says "head isu" ("good appetite"). Avoid resting your elbows of the table. Compliment the hostess on the meal. Woman and management

Woman and management Historically, women were known as the fairer sex. Usually, they had to be at home and take care of children. If their family had the means, they normally received a basic education in the arts, etiquette, manners and aspects of running a household. Women did not have any opportunity to say a word in any kind of business. They were only in a subordinate position. As the saying goes- behind every great man there is a great woman. I think that it was pretty fair that women were only at home in action with children at this time, because business were not so developed as the whole society. Good sence of authority, ability to take risks and decisiveness which are akin to men´s characteristics were good to lay the foundation for business. But also I think that going to business should not be forbidden to women.
