organisms among protected areas are 20-30% greater than in the areas that are not under
protection. Also the density of organisms and biomass in those areas are approximately
two time and three times greater, respectively.
There are many principals when creating protected areas. Structure-based model emanates
from representation of the habitat types in biogeagraphical region and includes local
residents in the decision-making process of creating protected habitats. Second, process-
based model emanates from the critical point of view of the functioning of ecosystem and
does not favor the inclusion of local residents.
More and more have been started to take into consideration the spread and connectivity of
