Big Ben

Big Ben When most people heat the words "Big Ben" they immediately conjure up an image of the striking Victorian Gothic structure of the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster (the Houses of Parliament). Let's clear up a common misconception first; technically speaking, the name "Big Ben" does not refer to the famous tower, nor to the four huge clock faces of this London landmark; instead, it refers to the largest of the five bells inside the clock tower, whose chimes are such a familiar sound to listeners to BBC radio over the years. The tower was begun following the disastrous fire which destroyed the old Palace of Westminster in 1834

Would you rather go to a large or a small school. I prefer large school. In a large school there are many opportunities to learn. First I would say that the big school is located in city. This is important to me. When I live in city i have to choose many number of schools. I have to do much more than go home and school. I have more time and i can go in many hobby groups. Secondly I would say that I do not like that teachers have less time. Teachers have little time to deal with people individually. Preparation of teaching materials is more difficult to have many classes in school. Work hard to improve because teachers do not have much time.

Living in the Big Apple

Living in the Big Apple The Big Apple is a wonderful place to live but it has its own drawbacks. First and foremost, if live in the Big Apple you are exposed to the diversity of people, which gives you an oppurtunity to enrich yourself by seeing other cultures. Despite the fact that living in New York is a big financial struggle you can still have a lot of fun on budget. Furthermore, there are a lot of shops in New York which are open 24 hours a day, so everything is at your fingertips. On the other hand, there is a lot of pollution and noise in the Big Apple, but I think it's acceptable for a hudge city like New York. Besides the pollution and noise, there is a much bigger problem in the Big Apple and that problem is crime. It's becoming a dangerous place to live, but the clampdown on crime has

Westminster Today

Westminster Today For centuries, Westminster was the political and religious center, but today Westminster is the center of government. Westminster Hall was built in 1099 by the son of William the Conqueror and is one of the largest medieval halls. It was part of the Westminster Palace, which was destroyed by a fire in 1834. The Houses of Parliament that we see today were rebuilt in the 19th century after the fire. The Big Ben clock tower is the largest four-sided ringing clock in the world and it is also one of the London's most famous symbols. Some think that Big Ben is the name of the clock on the tower, but actually it is the name of the big 13-ton bell that rings every fifteen minutes. The most historic religious building in Britain is Westminster Abbey, a beautiful church across the street from the Houses of Parliament. It was begun between

Brexit (inglise keelne)

From 28 to 27. What is the long-term consequence of the UK leaving the European Union? There is no question that the United Kingdom leaving the European Union or Brexit as we all know it, is a big hit for the EU and the UK. It’s by no means an easy process and a lot of people are against it, but today nothing can be done to stop it. Even though Brexit is seen by its leaders as a positive change, it will also have quite a negative effect on Britain and play a big role in reshaping European Union. Most British people were voting for Brexit to regain sovereignty, to ‘take back control’ and regulate their laws. At first glance, it may seem that they would be in charge of their actions which would mean that nobody on the outside can manipulate them. Although nowadays countries depend on each other a lot and the UK is no exception. Everything is more connected than ever and because of that existing completely on your own is quite an impossible task

Where would you prefer to live and why?

Where would you prefer to live and why? I would prefer to live in a big city instead of a village or a small town. For example Tallinn, London, New York or Paris. To start with, I would like to live in a big city because of its advantages. Big cities usually have more opportunities to spend your day and night. There are cinemas, coffee shops, theatres, shopping centres, libraries and night clubs. Although you need money to attend different exhibitions and shows big city also offers you free activities. Secondly, there are lots of banks, company offices and factories where people can work. That is the second reason I think big city life is better than a life in a small village. Last but not least, people usually think that they would not like to live in a big city because there are too many people there and they would feel suffocated. But there are areas outside the centre of the town where people live.

There should also be a gym and a sauna. That room should have a big couch around the room and a big table in the middle. On the ground floor there should be the kitchen with the latest technology. The fridge should be full of food. The living room should also be on that floor. It should have all comforts. The first floor should be the floor where are the bedrooms. I have all my things in there, such things like: a computer, books, my big bed, a guitar and diplomas. There, in my room, is all my life, if you want to know something about me, all you need is to visit my room. We live on the ground floor, and because of that, we do not get a lot of sun in the flat. Our city is not so big, but we live far from the center, our house is in the north-east of the city- it is about fifteen minutes by bus. But it is not so bad, in big cities you need fifty minutes! Kuid sama aasta sügisel loodi sootuks uus projekt KNOP, ehk siis ansamblite Me, Myself & I ja Toe Tagi koostöö. Esitati töötlusi Toe Tagi vanadest lugudest,

Attraction of blogs

It is very common that people write those thoughts down, usually into their secret diaries. Nowadays individuals write public blogs, which using has grown quite popular. In my opinion, blogs have become more fashionable than keeping private diaries, because they are public. Everyone has access and a chance to read your own personal views. We live in a modern world, where information is crucial and selling, therefore keeping a blog on the Internet is a big attraction for readers. Furthermore, there are all kinds of journals on the web, for example food sites, where people can find many recipes for different meals. Also, fashion blogs, which can give inspiration if wondering what to wear for some kind of an occasion. Not only are the blogs entertaining, they can also be very helpful and useful. The writers of the blogs get attraction from the amount of readers and clicks, which their page gets. Some blog-writers sign contracts

My ideal home - lühiessee

My ideal home. In our century most of the people live in block of flats, so farms and homesteads are mostly summer cottages. Right now I live in apartment too, but in future I would love to move in some private house. My perfect home should be located near a big city, because then i can easily find a job and go to the university. That house should be surrounded with garden and should have very big windows which make the house bigger and brighter. The house has two floors and garage. On the first floor there are livingroom, kitchen with dining room , bathroom and toilet. In living room there are 2 big comfortable sofas and glass TV table. The walls are beige and furniture is gray and brown. When I go to the second floor, then there are three bedrooms, bathroom and big wardrobe. Two bedrooms are for my children and one for me and my husband. My bedroom is with balcony

The Mayor Environmental Problems in Estonia

The Major Environmental Problems in Estonia I would like to talk about the major environmental problems in Estonia. There are many of them but I would like to point out the most important of them: air pollution, huge amounts of waste because of overconsumption and abuse of the natural resources. To begin with, air pollution is a big problem in big cities and in industrial areas. Air pollution is often caused by the exhaust fumes of the cars or by big factories. It affects nature and peoples health causing them breathing problems. Secondly, huge amounts of waste are being produced every day and it is all because of overconsumption. Although, in recent years peoples knowledge about recycling and using eco-friendly products have improved, there are more landfills in Estonia than ever before. The government should take some actions and instead of talking about recession, improve recycling programs.

Advantages and disadvantages living in a city

Advantages and disadvantages living in a city. Nowadays many people have to decide, where to live. There are many advantages and disadvantages living in a city and in the countryside. Some people prefer to stay in the countryside and say that they couldn't live anywhere else. Some people think the opposite. I think that there are many advantages of living in a big city. First of all, there are many opportunities to spend your free time. There are theatres, shopping centres, galleries and entertainment places. In a big city there are also hospitals and schools nearby. Also it is much easier to find a job in a big city, because there are many companies, which are located in a central city. Of course, public transport in a big city is much more comfortable, than in a countryside. There are also many disadvantages of living in a big city. In the

My ideal house

My ideal house My ideal house would be located in the woods, more precisely in the hills of Austria. It would almost be like a ski lodge, but it would be all mine. I want to live in the alps, because I’d like to wake up to a lovely view of the alps. The house would almost entirely be made out of wood. I would have a big back yard where I would have a football pitch, a miniature one, not a big one. Around the house I would grow all kinds of flowers and have a small garden. I would have a small garage, because I like cars and I like to take care of them. The house has 2 floors (basement, 1st and 2nd floor). The livingroom would have a cozy fireplace, a big TV and a couple of couches. The interior of the house would be finished in wood aswell. My bedroom would face the mountains and the setting sun. The house has a big balcony

Artiklite töö

ARTIKLID 7. Kasutades mingi ettevõtte/asutuse kohta artiklit internetist tooge selle alusel välja: a. Miks on „big data“ äride jaoks nii huvitav? b. Milliseid väljakutseid see endaga kaasa toob? c. Milliseid tehnoloogiaid „big data“ haldamiseks kasutatakse? A. Big Data on äride jaoks huvitav, sest otseselt selle üle neil kontrolli ei ole. Big Data puhul on tavaliselt tegu väga suurte andmemahtudega. Näiteks sotsiaalmeedia postitused, võrguliikluse ja sisselogimiste logid jms. Big Data erineb klassikalisest ärianalüüsist. Big Data-s kasutatakse Discovery- lähenemist, otsitakse seoseid sealt, kus need esmapilgul puuduvad. Ehk sisuliselt loodetakse komistada huvitavate seoste otsa. Big Data abil saavad ärid paremini mõista klientide ostukäitumist. C

Kontsedriarvustus "Muinaslugu sinilinnust"

Big companies are using many intensive techniques to promote their products. Now big companies are targeting very young people. Often companies advertise their products, like toys, on children's television. Many ads on television are for foods and soft drinks, which are not healthy. Children are easy targets because they does not necessarily care how useless some products are. To be honest, marketing is aimed at a very impressionable age group. Although it is parents' obligation to monitor what their children eat, drink or play with, many
