The truth pushes our world forward

The truth pushes our world forward 1. Truth has helped us to study and learn more about our world, not like religion and bible have done. Religion did not let science to evolve, but thanks to the sciences like Galileo Galilei science evolved because he was brave enough to say that earth is not the centre of the world. 2. Truth always comes out, Crusade wars began because of Turks conquered the holy lands and mistreated the Christians not because Christians wanted to increase their religion that happened later after the Crusade wars. 3

Puritanism in John Winthrop "A model of Christian Charity"

Puritan society’s attitude and mindset as it is one of the most classical examples of the Puritan era literature. Although John Winthrop was the leader of the Massachusetts Bay Colony which was filled with corrupted chiefs, he vigorously emphasizes in his writings the unity of community, love of others and morals of equality. This sermon also represents the hope of the colony in God after repudiating the Church of England. In his sermon A modell of Christian charity, reliance to the Bible is the key element which reveals in the interpretation of God itself and morals of the Bible. He begins by offering explanation to the inequality of the human kind and why God wants such inequality to exist at all. Simple reciprocity is indicated by collating the rich and the poor as it follows: „soe that the riche and mighty should not eate upp the poore nor the poore and dispised rise upp against and shake off theire yoake” (Winthrop, 1996)

Art-based learning

It is a good opportunity for a teacher to enrich their teachings with the language of image. An important criterion in choosing an artistic work is complexity. The choise must be done according to the age and ability of the children. Also teacher must remember that expression of christian art can be interpretered variously(Mazzarello:107-108). In my point of view visual teching methods are interesting for the pupils. Also it helps children to connect before heard bible stories with visual art. They see the symbols and also learns to analyse them. For understanding that a picture has a structure and characteristics and it needs to be interpretered correctly children should see in in three ways. Firstly they see it by the global view where the approach is emotional and they are attrachted by some details and missing some. Secondly there is a analytic view, where they analyse the obvious and more symbolic meanings and find the relationships between them

Martin Luther King

So let’s turn to the his activist movement and orator career. First of all, all started from religion, King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, when he was twenty-five years old, in 1954. His views was strongly based on Jesus Christ beliefs, so the main influence was Jesus Christ. Besides, he thought, that we should love our neighbor as yourself, and also love enemies, pray for them and bless them. He known almost all Bible, he would almost always quote Christian gospels in his religious meetings, speeches at church, and in public discourses. On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat. The Montgomery Bus Boycott, urged and planned by Nixon and led by King, soon followed. The boycott lasted for 385 days, and the situation became so tense that King's house was bombed. King was arrested during this campaign,

Love and Marriage

LOVE AND MARRIAGE According to the Bible, you have to love your mate. Why there are so many couples, who have married without love? In history there are a few exaples about marriages which based on the wealth and a glory For example Mary, the Queen of Scots married without love with Lord Darnley. Centuries later Charles, Prince of Wales married with Diana, barely knowing her. In this time, the upper class had to marry with their kind of people. In India, women have to marry with the men, who their parents have chosen for them. In my opinion people shouldn't marry, when they don't have feelings for each other or when they barely know each other. The religion shouldn't be also a reason for marriage. There's no point of it, when after the month or two they will divorce.

LaVey satanistid on ateistid. Nende jaoks pole olemas saatanat, saatan on pigem ikoon, sümbol mitte entiteet. Saatana kummardamiseks elu ohverdamine on ebavajalikk. Read carefully, and you will learn a lot. The inhabitants of Egypt were called mummies. They lived in the Sarah Dessert and traveled by Camelot. The climate of the Sarah is such that the inhabitants have to live elsewhere, so certain areas of the dessert are cul- tivated by irritation. The Egyptians built the Pyramids in the shape of a huge triangular cube. The Pramids are a range of mountains between France and Spain. The Bible is full of interesting caricatures. In the first book of the Bible, Guinesses, Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree. One of their children, Cain, asked "Am I my brother's son?" God asked Abraham to sacrifice Issac on Mount Montezuma. Jacob, son of Issac, stole his brother's birthmark. Jacob was a partiarch who brought up his twelve sons to be partiarchs, but they did not take to it. One of Jacob's sons, Joseph, gave refuse to the Israelites. Mormon Polygamy

Polygamy comes from Late Greek meaning ''often married'', is a form of marriage when a person has more than one spouse at the time. There are different types of polygamous families. When a man has more than one wife it is called polygny, when a woman has more than one husband it is called polyandry. If there are multiple wives and husbands it can be called group marriage. Mormonism is to say that it was dedicated to restoring everything in the Bible. Joseph Smith,Jr., Mormonism's founding prophet, who felt especially close to the Old Testament, believed his mission was to restore the customs from the Old Testament including the ancient Semitic custom of plural marriage. He himself did not acknowledge having multiple wives publicly since it was illegal. After Joseph Smith's murder by a mob on June 27, 1844, the main body of Mormons followed Brigham Young to Utah where the practice of plural marriage continued

Translation history

Summary • Early history of translation studies – Cicero and St. Jerome (what did they do/how/why are they relevant to translation studies?) St. Jerome – Greek scholar, did some translation work. Lived during the 4th century. Jerome is best known as the translator of the Bible into Latin. A previous version (now called the Old Latin) existed, but Jerome's version far surpassed it in scholarship and in literary quality. Jerome was well versed in classical Latin (as well as Greek and Hebrew), but deliberately translated the Bible into the style of Latin that was actually spoken and written by the majority of persons in his own time. This kind of Latin is known as Vulgate Latin (meaning the Latin of the common

Tolerance.

We may think we are strong, but we fought inconsiderate of the fact, that not all are as strong as us. A person, who has sustained constant mocking in matters, which he might not be the one to blame, might be smiling on the outside, but going through hell on the inside. And hell is definitely not the place we would like to find ourselves. That points us to the fact that religious people are often persecuted and even the Bible says, that the life of a Christian is no picnic, you have to stand above mockery and the fact that you may be rejected from the society. Of course there are many people who think differently. The facts that Christians burned heretics, tortured thousands of innocent people until they confessed to something they did not do and that Christianity goes against science makes us difficult to be tolerant. Some of us may have a question: "Why should we be kind to them if they have done so much bad to us

She had her own horse. Lindgren has also challenged conservative codes of children’s literature in later works. Her novel The Brothers Lionheart brought up the taboo of the death and the doctrine of reincarnation. Mio, min Mio, a classical story dealt with good and evil, which has sources from the Bible, folk tales, and lyric poetry. Lindgren had considerable public influence, however, she used it scarcely. Her constant concern with animal welfare was active in passing a new law in 1988 controlling factory farming, which put Sweden among the most developed countries on this issue. Lindgren’s humor and love for humanity was legendary. She represented the Swedish spirit for the rest of the world. She speaks out on behalf of living life against violence. Her books

World peace essee

Some folks suppose it's the resolution of conflict that may induce world peace. Others suppose that absence of hunger, deprivation or social justice would be a symptom that world peace is finally happening. it's like viewing the forest while not seeing the trees rather than the opposite means around. The perennial question can invariably be wherever to begin. If we have a tendency to take time to browse the teachings of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Kung futzu or take many minutes to seem at the Bible, the common divisor lies with the "Golden Rule" that teaches "not to try to to unto others what we have a tendency to don't wish others to try to to unto us". This teaching rings true even nowadays after we look into however folks ar treated in some elements of the planet. War, violence, famine and social injustices ar all handmaids of the devil. If we attempt to treat people sort of a brother, living harmoniously with each other, treating one

Tallinn town hall

portal was closed. The arcade that earlier enhanced the stateliness and individuality of the Town Hall as well as the windows of the basement and the ground floor were walled up. Partitions were built into the Citizens' Hall, turning its space into several separate rooms. A lot of the medieval architecture of the Town Hall was destroyed or distorted in the course of that reconstruction. In 1667 the interior decor of the Council Chamber was modernised. Lunette paintings to themes of the Bible were ordered from painter Johann Aken and carved wooden friezes beneath them from Elert Thiele and Joachim Armbrust. In the 19th century both the windows of the Town Hall and its eastern façade were rebuilt in the Gothic Revival style. The structure stepped into the 20th century with big changes in its exterior and interior decoration, and smaller changes followed in the first half of the 20th century. The spire of the tower was consumed in flames in a Soviet air raid on 9 March 1944

Character sketch - Melanie, Oranges are not the only fruit by Jeanette Winterson

had looked like a melon. In my opinion, this indicates that Melanie was not that smart and had limited intellectual capacity. Melanie's church was not a very lively one and Jeanette invited her to theirs. The first time that Melanie went to Jeanette's church she acted shy and didn't sing along with others. When the pastor urged sinners to raise their hand Melanie pushed hers into the air. Churchgoers prayed for her and Jeanette started going to Melanie's each Monday to read the Bible together and pray. Girls became friends, but soon after felt differently towards each other. `Do you think this is Unnatural Passion?' asked Jeanette once. `Doesn't feel like it. According to Pastor Finch, that's awful.' answered Melanie. The more they spent time together, the stronger their feelings got though neither of them admitted it out loud. However, everything changed after Jeanette told her mother about Melanie. Next time in church the girls were ambushed

Anglo - Saxon

Perhaps the best known piece of Anglo-Saxon art is the Bayeux Tapestry which was commissioned by a Norman patron from English artists working in the traditional Anglo-Saxon style. The most common example of Anglo-Saxon art is coins, with thousands of examples extant. Anglo-Saxon artists also worked in fresco, ivory, stone carving, metalwork and enamel, but few of these pieces had survived. Literature Anglo-Saxon literary works include genres such as epic poetry, hagiography, sermons, Bible translations, legal works, chronicles, riddles, and others. The most famous works from this period include the poem Beowulf, which has achieved national epic status in Britain. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle is a collection of important early English history. Cædmon's Hymn from the 7th century is the oldest surviving written text in English. In all there are about 400 surviving manuscripts from the period. Religion
