Religion

Religion - Pointless, beleving in something that is not proved, what noone has ever seen. religion is beleving in god, there are a lot of different religions. Devil or God as your daily companion You may think that devil and god are just fiction, but maybe it is not so. In everyday life everyone deeds are either bad or good. Devil is a companion for drug dealers because they do not care what happens to the peolple who they sell their drugs, and God does not have to be in church people it may easily be in somoone who is always ready to help othersand share their burden. Drug dealers does not care if somoone dies because of their drugs, they just care about money and power. Usually those people can not be cured, there is no help for them they just lust for money. One person who wishes good for everyone is not enough because there is not much that he can do alone, he needs strong assistance. But If that perso...

Tolerance.

Tolerance Ladies and gentlemen, before I move to my actual topic, think with me for a second on this scenario... A black exchange student from Kenya comes to our school and you see him getting beaten up by a bunch of bullies without no apparent reason, what would you do? More then a few of us pretend as if they had not seen anything. I myself would feel awful, but I wouldn't know what to do either. Although I would condone myself with the idea, that life is difficult and it's just something you have to deal with. But does tolerance mean that all manners should be accepted? No, of course not. Manners that disrespect or hurt others, like being mean or bullying, or

London the new Babel

kind of fame. There are many people living in London who do not accept other races and religions. They do not like foreigners visiting London as tourists nor living there. Racism is most common among young people or in areas where many coloured people live. The most common act of racism is calling names. There are very many coloured people in London and it is offensive to call them "nigga", "negro" or "Japs". But calling names isn't the worst act of racism. Many immigrants get beaten up or bullied because of their religion or ethnic origin. Some get killed and commit suicide because of the bulling. I think that a person who persecutes somebody because of who he or she is isn't a smart one. It is important to respect other cultures and not to judge someone just because he or she is different from you. There are also people who don't mean to be impolite but tend to be because of their lack of knowledge. For example it is easy to mix up Japanese and Chinese.

Estonian War of Independence

In June 1919 it lead to an armed conflict with stagnant Baltic Germans who tried to subject Latvia to their power. In the decisive battle under Cesis on June 23 (in Estonian: Võnnu) the Estonian-Latvian forces crushed German resistance. This day is now celebrated as Victory Day in Estonia. Only in November when the Red Army had beaten the Russian "Whites", it could once again press the front over to Estonian territory. The fiercest battles of the War of Independence took place in November and December 1919 on the Narva Front. The Soviet Command sent two armies (altogether 160,000 troops) against Estonia and Estonia answered with the maximum she had 85,000 men. By the end of 1919 the strength and morale of the Red Army had collapsed and Moscow agreed with armistice. It began on January 3, 1920 that

Carl Lewis

Carl Lewis The greatest and most famous athlete of the last century, who formerly won about 20 gold medals in four different events (100 m, 200 m, long jump and 4x100 relay), is called Carl, which is a nick that hides his true identity: Frederick Carlton Lewis. He was born on 1st July 1961 in Birmingham, Alabama, the same country of Jesse Owens for the will of doom: in fact his parents lived there fleetingly owing to their job. Third of five sons, he spent his childhood in Willingboro together with his younger sister Carol, Bill, his dad and Evelyn, his mother. Since his first years of life he could breath the soft and clean air of sport: his father used to train athletes at university and his mother was 6th at 80 m hurdles in the Pan-American games of 1951.He saw the Olympic games of 1968 on TV and could admire Bob Beamon: he was...

"Ender's game"

had the chance to fight Stilson one to one. Surprisingly to everybody he knocked Stilson down, and he thought that tomorrow would be an even worse day if he'd left now. So he decided to win all the coming fight also, ha started to beat Stilson with his leg to his ribs, face, even his groin, and left when he was bleeding quite bad. Later colonel Graff came to the Wiggin house and asked Ender, why he had done so. He said that he had to win all the upcoming matches as well, not to get beaten up later himself. Graff said he was accepted and gave Ender the choice, to stay home or go to the Battle School. He chose to leave his beloved sister and go. Most of the book is set in Battle School. Graff makes every other launchie hate him since the start. Graff has decided that he has to isolate Ender, so that he would keep improving to become a genius that was needed. Soon Ender is put into an army, older boys were divided

Rudyard Kipling

The two children would live with the couple, Captain and Mrs. Holloway, at their house, Lorne Lodge, for the next six years. In his autobiography, published some 65 years later, Kipling would recall this time with horror, and wonder ironically if the combination of cruelty and neglect he experienced there at the hands of Mrs. Holloway might not have hastened the onset of his literary life. She ruled the boarding house with fire and brimstone and Kipling was often beaten by her and her son. "Then the old Captain died, and I was sorry, for he was the only person in that house as far as I can remember who ever threw me a kind word."--ibid. Kipling soon learned to read and found solace in literature and poetry, voraciously turning to the magazines and books his parents sent him including Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. Wilkie Collins' The Moonstone and works by the likes of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Bret Harte also left an indelible impression on Kipling.

Othello opens in the stately city of Venice

In the fight, Cassio is enraged and stabs Montano in the process. Iago, in a show of reluctance, names Cassio as the instigator of the fight. Othello immediately relieves Cassio of his post and goes back to sleep. Iago then turns to Cassio and tells him that he should speak to Desdemona and beg her to speak on his behalf before Othello. Roderigo returns one more time and explains angrily how he’s tired of having his money taken and being beaten with nothing to show for it. Displaying his silver tongue once more, Iago convinces him to stay and that all hope is not lost. Iago once again addresses the audience, explaining how he will enroll the assistance of his wife Emilia, a lady-in-waiting for Desdemona to arrange the meeting with Cassio and that he will bring Othello to witness the meeting. Act 3 Scene 1 Cassio sends musicians to play outside of Othello’s window, hoping to win back some of his friend’s support

consumption to frame a nuanced understanding of the practices, ideologies and social identity that characterise lifestyle travel as a distinctive subtype within backpacker tourism. Although backpacking as a lifestyle has clear conceptual links to Cohen’s (1972) drifter, the social world surrounding ‘non-institutionalised tourist roles’ has changed significantly since the inception of the drifter model. Cohen (1972, p. 168) describes a drifter as venturing ‘furthest away from the beaten track and from the accustomed way of life of his home country…The drifter has no fixed itinerary or timetable and no well-defined goals of travel.’ Drifters are further understood as tourists who ‘roam internationally, living with the indigenous population and taking odd jobs to keep themselves going’ (Adler & Adler, 1999, p. 54). Like the ‘hippie counterculture’ of the 1960s-70s in general, the arguably derogatory

stair step display stands underneath all the plant materials. It is a wonderful example of English economy, devotion to tradition, persistence in spite of obstacles and unabashed joy in the beauty of nature on this relatively small, rocky island country. In 1951 the RHS proudly announced that the largest marquee in the world covering 3.4 acres (1.4 hectares) At the 1971 Show there were floods and thunderstorms; in 1974 the spring was advanced only to be beaten back by late cold spells; and in 1976 everyone complained about too much sun. In 1988 the RHS began charging Members to come to Chelsea and added an extra Members-only day (Wednesday) to its now-traditional Thursday one. Public access to the Show was therefore restricted to Thursday and Friday. 11 The demand is now so intense that since 1988 all tickets have been sold in advance to

E.Hemingway

He plays hard at tennis, but if he loses he accepts defeat gracefully. Furthermore, he cannot believe that his affair with Brett has no emotional value. Hence, he acts as a foil for Jake and the other veterans in the novel; unlike them, he holds onto traditional values and beliefs, likely because he never experienced World War I firsthand. Sadly, Cohn's value system has no place in the postwar world, and Cohn cannot sustain it. His tearful request that Romero shake his hand after Cohn has beaten him up is an absurd attempt to restore the validity of an antiquated code of conduct. His flight from Pamplona is symbolic of the failure of traditional values in the postwar world. Summary: Chapter I [Cohn] learned [boxing] painfully and thoroughly to counteract the feeling of inferiority and shyness he had felt on being treated as a Jew at Princeton.
