In conclusion, Sal is a people's person, but feels loneliness nevertheless. He is greatly influenced by Dean Moriarty who gets them into dangerous and stupid situations. Dean inspires Sal and Sal wants to be more like him: brave, spontaneous and to have the ability to pick up girls easily. Sal is not good with women and usually leaves them when the relationship becomes serious or complicated. In my opinion, Sal has no backbone. He doesn't know what he wants from life thus he does everything Dean wants. I was actually proud when Sal didn't go with Dean at the end of the book.
