proved. More than 50 theories have been put forward, but only a few have not been completely dismissed. Not long ago a new theory was published in the science journal "Nature". According to Dr. Garry Hunt, of University College, intense radiations from the nuclear explosion of a nearby supernova a star could cause the destruction of part or all of the ozone layer and in this way trigger an ice age. As for me, I like autumn best of all. The trees are covered with yellow and red leaves. Colors of these leaves that just start to wither are warm and they comfort me when I feel down. Days become shorter and the nights longer. It isn't so hot in the daytime anymore. At the end of summer apples, pears, plums and other fruit become ripe. In the South there are many oranges, peaches and tangerines. Autumn is pleasant when it does not rain. Generally autumn is a rainy season of the year

Estonian climate in winter-time. In Estonia, winter climate is very variable. Some year, it could be very cold outside, but some year it could be so warm you may wear your autumn clothes in winter. Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do

polluted air masses that are derived from China. In the spring, the wind regime in Japan becomes less dominated by air masses blown in from China and thus air pollution in Japan begins to drop in most areas, except in the Kanto Plain district. Air pollution in Japan There is normally low to medium levels of air pollution in Japan in the summer. However, if there's no wind, you're likely to get a build up of smog if you're located in a valley. During autumn, air pollution in Japan begins to increase as winter approaches. North America. Also are finded in tempered areas of South America. Climate: The average temperature in temperate forests is 50° F. Summers are mild, and average about 70° F, while winter temperatures are often well blow freezing. The average yearly precipitation is 30-60 inches. This precipitation falls throughout the year, but in the winter it falls as snow. There are four seasons in this biome, with warm summers and cold winters, often snowy. In autumn, the leaves change color and fall from the trees. The leaves decay on the forest floor, so the soil is very rich. Because of this, and because of the long growing season, many deciduous forests have been cut down for farming purposes. Plants: Trees of this biome include hardwoods such as maple, oak, hickory, and beech. There are often some evergreens, such as hemlock, spruce, and fir growing amongst them. Decidous forests have usually 3-5 layers of plants;
Lõuna 7 07.03.2011 Dear Sir/Madam My family does not eat very healthy. I try to eat more vegetables and low fat products. We do not eat much sugar and sweets. In my family people drink alcohol only on birthdays or other celebratings like New Year. In my family all but grandfather smoke . I am the only one who does some kind of sport. In winter i often go swimming with my best friend , two times a week. In autumn and summer i go cycling or jogging. I like to keep me fit. Sad that other people in my family do not play sports at all. I like to eat the food that my granny makes for me. But i try not to eat much and unhealthy. Now i eat much vitamins and protein. A school child must eat about 2000-2500 calories at day , nut ii cant believe that we all eat so much. We all must look what we eat and how much we eat and we will be healthy. Your Sincerely Kristina
What might attract foreigners to Estonia? Estonia is a small country in Nothern Europe, but it is visited by people all over the world. One of the things that definitely attracts people is the seasons. There are four seasons in Estonia- spring, summer, autumn, winter. I think they make Estonia very special. Another thing is the climate. It is not too cold in winter or too warm in summer. Winters are usually snowy and you can go skiing and ice skating. In the summer you can enjoy days at the beach. The capital city of Estonia is Tallinn, which has a very beautiful Old Town. Pärnu is the summer capital, which attracts people with its beautiful beach. There are a lot of isalands, lakes and rivers in Estonia. Saaremaa is the biggest island, and it is
I could make kids always smile and always stop kids crying. I also know a lot of games, which are good to play with kids and I know, how to educate them with playing. I can take big pressure and always be calm. I have done that job a bit before and so I have a little experience. Last year, me and my two friends were babysitters in kindergarten for one day. I also have a two year old brother, who I baby-sit, when my parents are busy or go to work. I´m 16 years old and will turn 17 on autumn. I´ll end the basic school on 15th June. I´ll also give You my phone number and address. My phone number is 56169951 and my home address is Estonia Põlva county Vastse-Kuuste municipality Lootvina village. I enclose a copy of my last school report. I look forward to hearing from You. Sincerely Jana Raudsepp

There are studying 841 students in 37 classes. We have 4 terms September 1. until October 24., November 2. until December 24., January 11. until March 20. and March 29. until June 5. We get reports every end of the terms. We don't have school uniform, we're allowed to wear, what we want. School lunches are 20 minutes long. Food isn't and don't taste very well. That, when you can go to eat, depends on which number of class you are. In our school are sport days about three times per year Autumn, Winter and Spring. We have competitions between different classes and we have special team with teachers. School parties are about twice a month, but they aren't very cool. It happens very rarely, when the party turns out good, but this is my opinion. We have only one leisure activity that is playing with coffee machine. Irrespective of all the negative sides, is our school very normal.
If anyone needs my help in anything, then I will always lend a hand. I like doing sports and I like to wear sporty clothes, because they are very comfortable. Also, like to wear feminine clothes. My favourite outfit is a leather jacket with blue jeans, a white blouse and black platforms. The leather jacket has white stripes down the sleeves. It is also quite worn-out by now because I have had it for some time now and I tend to wear it throughout the spring and autumn months. In fact it has gotten quite a few little tears where it has got caught on sharp objects. These clothes came from one of those big department stores and not a specialist leather shop. I am a big believer in wearing clothing that makes you feel great. The ideal item of clothing is the one that makes you both look and feel great. My favourite outfit makes me feel gorgeous and confident. This outfit is special because it is different – it is just
So you do not need to put on many clothes. · We have lovely beaches and there is only sand no rocks.the water is cool and you can swim in it very well. · In winter we have white and soft snow that is very beautiful.It covers the streets and the building tops. However,there are many things that not might like us about weather · The winters are cold and you need to put many clothes on.As well as you have to watch out that you could not get cold. · In autumn there is raining very much and mud is quite everywhere.You need to watch that you sould not get muddy and you need to carry umbrella sometimes with you. To sum up,on the one hand Tallinn has very nice changing weather so you can have everything plently.On the other hand you must watch out what weather is outside,cause with the wrong weather things may not go very well outside.
Places to visit and not to visit in Estonia Estonia is very beatufil country and has meny interesting places to visit. Our summer is sunny and worm, autumn rainy, winter cold and snowy, spring colorful and chilli. Firstly I Would like to recomend to visit Old Town, it is wery beautiful, interesting and ancient. to say their opinion out loud. Estonians have quite good manners. We say hi to each other and we often say sorry, even if our acts aren't so bad. There are also many gentlemen in Estonia, who open doors for women and make a lot of compliments. I really like that, because one opened door or one little compliment can make your mood for the entire day. Our country has four seasons and every season changes our mood. In summer and winter Estonians are very happy, but in autumn, when the weather is rainy, foggy and afternoons are very dark, Estonians are quite depressed and very tired for the entire season . In the spring Estonians are full of energy and joy. Estonians keep their respect for one another and love their country , because of that, i am very proud to be an Estonian. Jessica Lauring 9b

The territory of Estonia covers 45,227km2 The Estonian climate resembles that of other countries on the Baltic littoral. On account of the country's proximity to the sea, the skies are often cloudy, and rain often falls in the spring and autumn, in the winter the rain turns to snow. The highest point in Estonia is Suur Munamäg It is in fact the highest point in the Baltic region Forest cover over one half of Estonia. The most common types of tree are pine, spruce and birch. These illnesses are not mostly dangerous for people, but if not treated, they may become life-threatening. For example, a simple cold may become a serious disease called otitis, and a simple cough pneumonia. There are a lot precautions to avoid colds, but not everyone pays attention to. The most common way to avoid them, is to dress according to the weather. When it is windy outside, people should wear something windproof, mostly in early spring and late autumn. In winter the dressing should be warm and layerd. Eating healthy food, doing sports and sleeping normally are also very important actions to stay healthy. Healthy food, for example, is different fruits, vegetables and non-fat soups and fries. Also it's very important to drink herbal teas and eat different berries, like bilberries and cranberries. Sport is neccessary to stay active because it strenghtens the immune system and illnesses do not attack that fast
you have some kind of a hobby, you should dig out where you could meet people with the same interests. Our school has always had many interesting events through the year and here are some of the near future ones: A lot alikes banding together doesn't matter weather you're an athlete, a cheerleader, a musician or a writer, you are not the only one, so school is supporting different activity clubs. New cafeteria's opening we do need places to eat and drink! Autumn ball as soon as everybody has mingled together they can start dancing! The few things I really suggest are when in class, look around, remember the faces and in every chance introduce yourself. Also it leaves a good impression being nice and cheerful all the time. I think that most of the young people always welcome new companions and making friends shouldn't be hard at all, especially when you are willing to be a friend yourself. Enjoy the year and new experiences

and half a year later there will be +30C. Best time, of course, is July.Then is a quite warm.Temperature is about +25C.But in fact, there is no summer at all.This is because Estonia is rather wet,windy,rainy and cloudy country. Spring is usual, rather cold, but sun is already shines.On March and April can happen that during ay there is five degrees below zero until 10 degrees in same day just early monings are really icy but afternoon if sun is high it is already nice and warm. Autumn is very similar to spring.There are rather icy and wet. Winter is very crafty, some days temperature can be around 5 degrees below zero, but sometimes can be 20 degrees below zero.If you like skiing then winter in Estonia is a best time for it. In my opinion, summer time is a best time for me. But I like winter too. Nature in Estonia is also very beautiful. I wanted to tell about some birds and flowers in Estonia : there are ... I often think about our environment
Estonia Estonia is a country in Eastern Europe. It's a small country beside the Baltic Ssea. Our neighbours are Finland, Russia, Latvia and Sweden. Estonia's surface area is 45,227 square kilometres wide. The population of Estonia is around 1,34 million people. We have four seasons in Estonia. The air is very humid and it rains quite often, especially in spring and autumn. We usually have long winters and plenty of snow, but sometimes we haven't even had snow. Summers are is mostly warm and beautiful in Estonia. Estonia is well known for it's amazing countryside. We don't have any big mountains, but we do have over a thousand islands and over a thousand lakes that are worth seeing. One fifth of Estonia is covered by wetlands and almost one forth of the territory is forested. We also have four spectacular national parks and more than 50 nature reserves.

Dear Ingrid, Thank for you letter, you told me that you want to be an exchange student. I would recommend our school to you because we have are lot of friendly students and teachers who are very helpful. Our school year starts on the 1. of September and ends in on the 3. of July. Compared with other European schools our summer holiday is the longest. The winter holiday is 2 weeks long and the spring and autumn holidays are 1 week long. Our average school day is quite long, it starts at 8 o´ clock and ends usually at 3 or 4 o´ clock. We have a break after every 45 minutes for 10 minutes and we have two breaks that are 20 minutes long. During the break we study for the next lesson or just chat with other classmates. I feel very safe in our school, I think everybody is responsible because all of us can contribute in discipline and make our school a better and safer place to learn at
The region it belongs to is bordering two seas, one in the west and another one to the southwest It is situated on the mainland about 20 km off the coast. It has mainly flat terrain with several hills. Climate: My kinda town has the Mediterranean climate. There are 4 seasons; however spring and autumn are very short. Usually summers are dry and very warm, winters are rainy and mild. Temperatures during winter only occasionally fall below the freezing point and snow generally is seldom seen. In the summer, the temperatures range from mild to very warm. Spring is relatively warm and autumn is mild with few rains and time when the town is covered in "gold"

First snow It was unusually hot in my small bedroom when I woke up. As I looked at the clock, it was only 7.30 in the morning and I was still dead tired from my last night`s birthday party. I didn´t feel any strenght left in my muscles but nevertheless I walked across my bedroom to turn the radiator down. That was strange. The heat wasn´t on. When I opened the window to let in some cooling autumn air I saw something slowly falling from the sky. It was too early for the first snow and also the weather was also unusually warm. I opened the window even more to get rid of that suffocating air stuck inside the room but that made it even worse, all the breathable air seemed to fly out. Next, I quickly closed the window and rushed to the bathroom where I was about to take a refreshing cold shower. As I put my head under the cooling water, I realized that something was wrong. been changed due to German cultural influences. Christmases in Estonia on the whole have two meanings: first one is to celebrate the birth of the Christ and secondly it marks the whole period of mid-winter festivities. In Estonia's folk tradition, Christmas (in Estonian "jõulud" is of ancient Scandinavian origin and has no connection with Christianity) was a time of year to celebrate the shortest day and longest night. At the same time, Christmas was the culmination of the late autumn celebrations. Christmas Eve and Christmas Night were the most sacred times of the season. Nowadays, Christmases are simply considered to be a holiday to spend time with family and friends. Estonia has assimilated most of the traditions which were not relative to Estonia's culture in the old times. Nevertheless, our tradition is to give gifts to each other but for example in America, Santa Claus brings his gifts by coming through the chimney.
computers or iPods, because when we are born, doctors will set a very little chip into our brain. So everything, we want to search from Google or listen from iTunes is now in our heads and can be used every time. As a result, I can say, that life in next century, in my opinion will be much easier. Our home planet is polluted, but I am sure, that everything is made to hold Earth livable to everyone. Even though, you can't go to countryside, to breathe some fresh air or at autumn pick fresh apples, you will learn to appreciate other features.
The school year should last from 1st September to 22 June There is no doubt that the school has a big role in our lives. It teatches us how to cope with our life. But what are the pros and cons, if the school would last longer? Firstly, if the government wants to shorten our summer break, then we would not have enough time to rest or visit our relatives. And when the school starts again in the autumn, then many of us would have no motivation to learn. And because of that, our grades starts to deteriorate. Sometimes the school may be very stressful too and then the summer holiday is very good time to rest and deal with other things. Especially when you do not live at home, during the school and then the summer is the only time you can enjoy being home. But if the summer break is so little, then you can not do anything you want, because you always have to read books or do something
