Convicts started being transported to Australia in 1770 which was a disaster for the Aborigines. Captain cook arrived in Botany Bay and claimed Australia for Britain. The 18th century life was hard and even small crimes were severe in Britain. Sometimes prisoners would be sentenced to transportation. After the American War of Independence (17751783)

This tax break allowed the East India Company to sell tea for half the old price and cheaper than the price of tea in England, enabling them to undercut the prices offered by the colonial merchants and smugglers, granting them a virtual monopoly. Many American colonists, particularly the wealthy smugglers, resented this favored treatment of a major company. Protests resulted, and it was those in Boston that made their mark in history. The Event The first of many ships which arrived at the Boston harbor carrying the East India Company tea was Dartmouth arriving in late November 1773. Thousands attended the protest meetings, every meeting larger than the one before. The crowds shouted defiance not only at the British Parliament, the East India Company, and Dartmouth but at Governor Thomas Hutchinson as well, who was still struggling to have the tea landed. The owner of the Dartmouth and its captain agreed that the tea would be returned to England.

Stages of her journey: She went through England, France (where she met Jules Verne in Amiens), Brindisi, The Seuz Canal, Colombo (Ceylon), The Straits Settlements of Penang and Singapore (where she bought a monkey), Hong Kong, Japan, China, Pacific Ocean, San Francisco, Aaaaand then she arrived back home in New Jersey. Dangers and problems Bly travelled using steamships and the existing railroad system, wich caused occasional setbacks, particulary on the Asian leg of her race As a result of rough weather on her Pacific crossing, she arrived in San Fransisco two days behind the schedule. She also had missed a connection and had had to board a slow, old ship in the place of a fast ship. Expetations: She tought the journey would take 80 days. But she
My job interview would start in one hour and I had to hurry on a bus. Half an hour later I was in the bus station and felt relieved because I had still 5 minutes until my bus came. So I waited and looked at the timetable and saw that the bus drove every working day except that day. ,,Oh, great," I said ironically. I wanted to call a taxi, but found out that I had left my phone at home while I was rushing around. Fortunately, my friend lived nearby, so I rushed to her house. When I arrived, she said her mom had driven to work 5 minutes ago, otherwise she would have picked me up. So we called a taxi but I had to wait for another 15 minutes. When I finally arrived I had already given up hope. I was suprised by a secretary who greeted me with a smile and said she was happy that I had received her message about the one-hour-delay of the interview. But I didn't have my cellphone with me, so I wasn't able to read that message!
The Black Beauty didn't remember everything when he was small, but he remembered some very important advice from his mother. She told him that the better he behaved, the better was he treated and he always had to do best of him to his master. One day a man took him with him to the Birtwick Park. There lived other horses and the Beauty became friends with the others. The Black Beauty was a good horse and everyone loved him. One morning a master Gordon had to go to the city with Beauty. When they arrived to the hotel the master put the horse to the stable and went to bed. But suddenly the Black Beauty woke up and smelt smoke. The stable was on fire. Luckily everything went good and nobody got hurt. When they arrived to the Birtwick then everything went like always. The Black Beauty did work and got groomed. Then one day the master led him to Earls Hall where were many stables. It was a new place. There were very kind grooms and good food. But then one day Rauben Smith took him and
One of the patients was the burned man. Hana, young nurse, decided to stay with her in old damaged villa in Italy. In the villa there were library, mostly with Italian books, kitchen, courtyard, and many more or less retention rooms. The English patient's room was like arbour, walls covered with painted trees. Hana washed him after every four day and read him every day pieces from books One day, a man with bandaged hands named Caravaggio arrived at the villa. He was an old family friend of Hana's father and he had heard about her location while he was recovering in a hospital a few miles away. In Canada, where Caravaggio knew Hana years ago, he was a thief. He told her that the Germans caught him after an attempt to steal a camera from a woman's room. They cut off his thumbs. Although he had recovered somewhat, he was still addicted to morphine. Hana had little garden outside where she grew vegetables and she thought that
San Francisco San Francisco, officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the leading financial and cultural of stateof California and it's located in the far-west of USA. The earliest archaeological evidence of human habitation of the territory of the city of San Francisco dates to 3000 BC. The Yelamu group of the Ohlone people resided in several small villages when a Spanish exploration party, led by Don Gaspar de Portolà arrived on November 2, 1769, the first documented European visit to San Francisco Bay. Upon independence from Spain in 1821, the area became part of Mexico. Under Mexican rule, the mission system gradually ended and its lands began to be privatized. In 1835, Englishman William Richardson erected the first independent homestead, near a boat anchorage around what is today Portsmouth Square. Together with Alcalde Francisco de Haro, he laid out a street plan
In my essay I will describe the most characteristic features of the Maori people and the aborigines. I will divide the essay in 3 parts the Maori people, the aborigines and their comparison. Maori are the host people of New Zealand. Their name is derived from Ma-Uri which means the children of heaven. The arrival of the Maori people to New Zealand is considered to be somewhat of a mystery. It is known that first Polynesians arrived to New Zealand about 1000 years ago, when navigator Kupe discovered the land in 950 AD. He named it Aotearoa The Land of the Long White Cloud. Although these facts can be debatable, I will focus my attention on this interpretation of Maori history. After the Maori arrived to New Zealand, they started to develop into tribes and sub tribes, this tribal system is still in use. Their culture had almost no influence from the rest of the world

As they were not regularly given food and water, the rabbits were hungry and thirsty most of the time. A worried neighbour saw how the rabbits were threated and was able to talk theid owner into giving them to the Farm Sanctuary. Just hours after they arrived, Fiona gave birth to Tweety and four other beautiful bunnies. Tweety´s life was difficult for him from the very beginning. He was the weakest of the litter, and his mother refused to nurse him. Seeing how small and sickly he was, the caregivers started feeding him special baby food. Soon Tweety began to grow strong, and his motehr accepted him as her own. When winter arrived, however, Tweety became ill again - this time with pneumonia.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to complain about the jeans which I ordered from your mail-order catalogue. I was not pleased when they arrived. To begin with, your advertisement stated that the jeans would be delivered promptly. However, they were delivered late. Secondly, you said that you were the only company in this country licensed to sell this brand, but in fact I have seen them in a local store. Though your advertisement claimed that the price was unbeatable, the ones in the local store were much cheaper. Although your advertisement claimed that the jeans were excellent quality, the zip was broken.
11 November 2010 Dear Mr and Mrs Smith, I am writing to let you know that I have arrived home safely. My plane was just on time and everything went smoothly. I also wanted to thank you for letting me stay with you in your lovely summer cottage in England. I had the most wonderful time in England and I appreciate everything that you did for me to make me feel at home. I loved my room and the food tasted just like it does at home. You are a really nice family with warm hospitality. The visit to England really gave me an opportunitie to improve my English speaking skills,
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you to express my annoyance at the supreme quality of service that was promised but never delivered. I am talking about the intensive 4-wekk language course provided by you, International Language Centre. First things first the "highly qualified staff" had a terrible sense of time and always arrived late. Not to mention their insufficient language level, which I found quite displeasing. In addition to that, the provided free course materials were in reality just old and used textbooks and the desks were just way too small to work on, and the classes had no heating, which were quite cold in the mornings. Also you advertised small study groups, but the fact that there were over a dozen people in class determined that it was a lie.
Most of the people live in towns, the population of the countryside is becoming smaller and smaller. African-Americans or "blacks" are descendants of slaves, who were brought by violence from Africa for sale in America. The slave trade began in the 1600s and was finally outlawed in 1808. There are about 24 million African-Americans in the country. In the 1950s and 1960s, blacks finally won the basic rights of all Americans. The first people who arrived in the Americas were the Native Americans. Many of them lived in small groups of about 20-50 people. Most of them were very peaceful people, who lived by hunting and collecting food. Other Native Americans lived in small villages, where they had farms. There are about two million Native Americans in the territory of the United States. They used to be called Indians because, when Christopher Columbus arrived in America, he thought he had reached India. The United States is made up of 50 States

When Jane arrived to the school she found out that her life was better in her aunt house than in that school. The school’s headmaster was Mr. Brocklehurst, a cruel, hypocritical, and abusive man, who treated the students really bad. In school Jane found a friend named Helen Burns who was also at same age as Jane. In the winter Helen got sic and died. Riho Kirsipuu Group nr 2 20.11.2015 Formal Letter Dear Sir or Madam, I just returned from my holiday, which was not what we were looking for. There were some problems I want to talk about, which was not mention in brochure. Firstly, when we arrived at the airport, there were not any coach waiting for us but brochure said that transfer was included. Because of that we had to take a taxi and it was very expensive. What is more, the beach was far from hotel which was unpleasant surprise. In addition, entire resort was crowded and very noisy but travel agent described it as quiet and peaceful area. Last but not least, our hotel room was tiny and not comfortable for three people to live in, it was dirty also
One day, about 11 years ago I was home with my family. My mother was cooking a delicious fish for me and for my brother . We were hungry. I went to the kitchen and I saw a cooked fish, and I just wanted to eat it all. But then a fishbone got stuck inside of my throat. I was crying because it hurt me very badly. Then my mother asked me: "Oh my god! What is it, dear son?" then she saw a fish on the ground. My mother called ambulance and we went to the car right after. When we arrived to the hospital, then some nurses came to me and put me on a wheeled bed. They rolled me to the room where they took the bone out of my throat. I was so shocked that they had to give me a tranquilizer. Doctors kept my family informed what was happening with me. I was in hospital for 2 days before I got back home. That is a small story about my childhood, when I was about 3 year's old kid.
DC at The Melrose Georgetown Check in The hotel is a couple of blocks from Foggy Bottom - GWU Metro station, on the blue and orange lines. If you are coming from Union Station you have to change once, at Metro Center, from the red line. But once we arrived, check-in was quick and easy. Within two minutes of walking through the lobby, we were in our room. Internet Connection Free and couldn't be easier to hop on: no password or sign-up required. Location The hotel is very accessible via public transportation, and, probably thanks to its college community, you'll find plenty of restaurants and bars in the immediate area. If eating out's not your thing, there is both a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods within two blocks, too. What We Didn't Like
People from that time were the ancestors of the modern British. 10 000 BC ige age ended and Britain became inhabited by small groups of hunters who probably followed herds of deer. 5000BC Britain became an island and deer died out. 3000BC the Neolithic people came (probably from Spanish peninsula or even North African coast). They may be the forefathers of the people from Cornwall and Wales. The building of Stonehenge started around that time. 2400BC the 'Beaker' people arrived in Britain. They had better metal working skills and they soon became the leaders of the British society. They started building individual graves. 1300BC the farming society became more important than the henge society. 55BC the Romans arrived. The Celts The Celts arrived from central Europe or further east around 700BC. They were tall and had fair or red hair and blue eyes. They knew how to work with iron. They are the ancestors of many people living in Britain today
Letter of complaint Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing this letter of complaint to complain about the service you offered to me and my family, when we stayed recently at your hotel. I already completed the Feedback Form but I would like to add some more points. Firstly, when we arrived, we were told that the bungalow we had booked was not available ad we were offered instead accommodation in rooms, which we did not want. The room service was extremely slow. On first day, I had to wait a cup of coffe for one hour. Also, there was promsed a TV in the room, but it was out of order. Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the recreational facilities either. Altough there were two tennis court, we did not get a change to play because they were booked up most of the time.
I saw your advertisement in my local newspaper and booked the service for my 21 st birthday party with high hopes. Unfortunately I was terribly disappointed. Firstly, a huge variety of dishes is promised in your advertisement. To my surprise when I asked about some, I was told that many of them were not available. The second thing that was below standards was delivery. I do not believe that prompt delivery means food arriving late. When the food finally arrived, it was cold! Another problem was your staff. The waiters were simply rude to my guests! I was embarrassed especially because I had told my guests to expect a friendly service. As if all this was not enough, I was overcharged on the final bill. I would not have booked your service if I had known that you find it reasonable to overcharge people. Hopefully this letter prompts you to make some drastic changes in your service. I

Witness Report As I was walking along Western Road about 11.00 on Saturday morning I saw a red car pull up in front of me and two men jumped out and ran into Woolworths. I didn't really pay any attention until I heard screams coming from inside the shop. When I got closer I saw one man holding a gun while the other emptied the cash register. I couldn't see them very well, but one was fairly tall with brown hair and sunglasses and the other was shorter with very short blond hair. They were both wearing jeans and were about 22 years old, so they could have been students. There was another man in the car who had been waiting with the engine running, but I couldn't see what he looked like. I think they must have panicked at that point, beause they came running out without waiting to fill their bag with money and jumped into the red car again. As soon as the two men jumped into the car I drove off very ...

They pulled their guns out and point it to my head. I started screaming and crying. They asked me quickly belt up or they gonna shoot me. When i was little calm down i asked what they want. They said that they want money and told me to call my parents. They said that my parent must pay one milion eurs. Before i get to call, the police arrived. Luckly one of my neighbours had heard my screaming and called police. I was so shoked. After that i don´t dare to be home alone anymore. I really hope that nobody don´t need to go throug this situation.
