The Horseshoe Falls lie mostly on the Canadian side and the American Falls entirely on the American side, separated by Goat Island. The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also located on the American side, separated from the other waterfalls by Luna Island. Geology · About 10,900 years ago, the Niagara Falls was located between present-day Queenston, Ontario, and Lewiston, New York, but erosion of their crest has caused the waterfalls to retreat approximately 6.8 miles (10.9 km) southward. The Horseshoe Falls, which are approximately 2,600 feet (790 m) wide, have also changed their shape through the process of erosion; evolving from a small arch, to a horseshoe bend, to the present day gigantic inverted V. Characteristics · The volume of water approaching the falls during peak flow season may sometimes be as much as 6,400 m3 per second. · The average annual flow rate is 2,400 m3 per second.

Dear Joe, Thank you for your letter. I'm writing for you more specifically about our upcoming trip - meet-up and changes we have been made, so you can move on with the arrangements. Also, I have couple of questions myself too. First of all, we have a change regarding the date. We will arrive on 6'th September and leave on 16'th September . We are going to use a bus as a transport and will arrive to the hotel approximately 12 at noon. We have total of 16 students in our group - 10 boys and 6 girls plus another teacher besides me. We would like to have 5 rooms if possible and there is also a girl in the wheelchair in our group. I would also like to know about the museums you have been searched out for us and which is the appropriate way to dress ourselves - more comfortably or rather elegantly? Plus are there any past-time sporting opportunities for us? If yes, may you stop more closely on that?

milliseconds. When the conductor becomes hot enough, it ignites the combustible material, which initiates the gas generator. In a seat belt pre-tensioner, this hot gas is used to drive a piston that pulls the slack out of the seat belt. In an airbag, the initiator is used to ignite solid propellant inside the airbag inflater. The burning propellant generates inert gas which rapidly inflates the airbag in approximately 20 to 30 milliseconds. An airbag must inflate quickly in order to be fully inflated by the time the forward-traveling occupant reaches its outer surface. Typically, the decision to deploy an airbag in a frontal crash is made within 15 to 30 milliseconds after the onset of the crash, and both the driver and passenger airbags are fully inflated within approximately 60-80 milliseconds after the first moment of vehicle contact. If an airbag deploys too late or too slowly, the risk of

PANGA CLIFF The Panga cliff is located on the northern shore of Saaremaa, at the end of the Kuressaare - Võhma road, close to Panga village. It is the highest of the Saaremaa and Muhu cliffs, reaching to a maximum of 21.3 meters. The entire cliff is approximately 2.5 kilometers long. Standing at the tip of the cliff, one can clearly see another half-circular cliff under water. This is especially noticeable during storms, when the waves break against the underwater rocks, while the inside of the half-circle is calm. During bird migrations in the spring and fall, this half-circular lagoon is a favorite stopover point for storks on their long trip to and from Egypt, where most of them spend the winter. Sometimes there are well over a hundred storks, as
The analyses established that a metal plate was missing from between two pipes in the Union Carbide Corporation in which water managed to reach the MIC tank. The chemical reaction between water and MIC caused a major temperature and pressure rise in the tank which allowed the toxic gas to escape from the emergency pipes. The gas was not neutralized, as the three fundamental emergency systems failed to work. The gas killed up to 10, 000 people in 3 days and approximately 35, 000 by 1994. The gas affected soil and water to the point that agriculture in Bhopal is unusable. In conclusion this demonstrates the need for consistent mainteance in pesticide plants, power plants and all ohter industrial plants. Corporations can not save money in the expense of safety, because there is always an intensive risk. Keywords: gas tradegy, methyl isocyanate (MIC), chemical reactions, consistent mainteance, intensive risk

Savery's engine. James Watt improved it even further and later came up with an idea on how to use a steam engine to power something with wheels. Alright, but why are they important? Steam engines are veryveryvery important because it was the dominant source of power well into the 20th century. They actually were the moving force behind the Industrial Revolution. So no steam engines = no Industrial Revolution = Middle Ages that last approximately forever, give or take a few days But how do they work? One of the 2 important parts is the boiler which contains water to be boiled. The second important part of a steam engine are the pistons. In James Watt's engine the pistons are moved by condensing water which causes vacuum which is created on both sides of the piston to make it move back and forth. Okay, okay I get the point. Polar Bear Kristjan Paal 6.c The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native largely within the Arctic Circle encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and surrounding land masses. It is the world's largest land carnivore and also the largest bear, together with the omnivorous Kodiak bear, which is approximately the same size. A boar (adult male) weighs around 350 700 kg (7701,500 l while a sow (adult female) is about half that size. Although it is closely related to the brown bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its diet. Although most polar bears are born on land, they spend most of their time at sea

Tarantula are a group of hairy and often very large spiders belonging to the family Theraphosidae, of which approximately 900 species have been identified. Some genera of the tarantulas hunt prey primarily in trees and other genera hunt on or near the ground. All tarantulas can produce silk; while arboreal species will typically reside in a silken "tube tent", terrestrial species will line their burrows with silk to stabilize the burrow wall and facilitate climbing up and down. Tarantulas mainly eat insects and other arthropods, using ambush as their primary method of prey capture

into the church of Niguliste. When the church was handed over, the people had a very grand goodbye(farewell) to the church even though it was only left temporarily. The first organ was built in 1869 by Gustav Normann. 1905 church started collecting money to get a better organ. In 1913 a real masterpiece of modern organ making was made. On the 16th April Saint John´s church got a new organ that was shipped from Germany. It was 6 metres high and 3 metres wide. Right now there should be approximately 4 organs in the church. People are worrying right now about the cracks in the floor of the just renovated church. The cracks were made from the constructions on the freedom square. If the cracks turn any bigger, then the tower of the church may fall bringing at least half of the church down with it. As you all know the churches are poor so feel free to donate to the church. That way you will go to heaven for a good deed. These are the numbers for donating with a bank account because that

The report is based on the students' responses to the questionnaire administered by the school's doctor. Meals The survey have revealed that the students do not have enough meals. Only eight of those questioned eat before school, and half of them have their midday meal at school. Worryingly, as few as four students have both breakfast and school lunch. Still more disturbing is the fact that an alarming proportion--approximately onethird--of the students have neither. Eating brown bread Interestingly enough, bread, a good source of fiber, enjoys popularity among young people. 75 per cent of the students surveyed eat three or more slices of brown bread per day, with only a quarter of respondents restricting themselves to one or two slices. Eating fat As regards fat consumption, the majority of the students eat margarine. Four students prefer butter, and another four eat neither. Conclusion
