My speech is about Body-Shaming. I chosed the topic because i think that it is importent to talk about it. Did you ever stop and think about how often we are told to change our appearance? Magazines constantly offer tips about how to lose weight “in days,” appear slimmer “instantly,” and hide our “imperfections”… without actually knowing anything about us, much less our appearance. This is one example of body-shaming, and it is everywhere. It has become the norm to criticize aspects of our bodies as some type of bonding experience with friends – if we all hate our bodies; it somehow makes us feel connected and united. Body-shaming can lead to a vicious cycle of judgment and criticism. Messages from the media and from each other often imply that we should want to change, that we should care about looking slimmer, smaller, and tanner
Some people say that while the appearance of waif-like models in the media may send a dangerous message about eating disorders, general fitness and fashion magazines and television shows with thin characters also play a key role in influencing irregular eating patterns. I agree this fact and I think people say that because lots of young people, mostly girls, think that they are overweight or fat. They think that because in magazines and in television there are mostly people with perfect appearance. Often these people start a diet, because they want to look like those models in fashion magazines. They eat few food and hope that when they don't eat as much as they want, they will look better. It may involve eating disorders and irregular eating patterns and it's really bad for their health. I think that eating disorders and irregular eating patterns are big problems today because girls with very good appearance think that they are overweight or fat.
People's eyes are attracted to beauty and it's quite natural. We look at flowers, landscapes, pieces of art, and so on. We understand why it is beautiful. People also think of a man's/woman's appearance as of a masterpiece of nature and enjoy it as much as a landscape in the Alps. But is the essence of this beauty the same? Landscapes are parts of nature, pieces of art are created by gifted people; these objects are not alive, don't possess an intellect, so it is much easier to define the essence of it's meaning and purpose. Humans have divine gift of speech, abstract thinking and freedom of action. We can't but agree that it's very difficult to define, what is hiding behind good looks

Stress in the lives of young people today A lot of young people nowadays stress about various number of things. Whether it’s grades in school, appearance, relationships or future life in general, they all worry young people and impact their everyday life. One of the biggest stress factors are probably school, grades and future. Often students find themselves lacking knowledge to pass a subject or are too lazy to attend classes at all. This leads to a big amount of stress which they only have themselves to blame for. The best way to avoid this kind of stress would be studying hard and attending all classes
TALLINN TOWN HALL Tallinn Town Hall is the only surviving Gothic town hall in Northern Europe. Built in the heart of Tallinn, next to a marketplace, the Town Hall has witnessed trade and social activities for over 700 years. It has still remained the most important representational building in town. The building history of the Town Hall goes back to the 13th century, but it acquired its medieval appearance in 140204. It was as early as 1248 when King Eric IV Ploughpenny of Denmark granted the Lübeck Charter to Tallinn. Relying on that document a town council was elected from amongst merchants of the Hanse and started convening in the Town Hall. It is possible to state on the basis of research findings that a meeting place of the magistracy and a goods depot in the form of a small, fortified town hall, constructed of local limestone, existed in its present location already in the mid-13th
later on 26 May 1583. However, over the centuries readers have pointed to Shakespeare's sonnets as evidence of his love for a young man. Others read the same passages as the expression of intense friendship rather than sexual love.[181] At the same time, the 26 so- called "Dark Lady" sonnets, addressed to a married woman, are taken as evidence of heterosexual liaisons.[182] Portraiture Main article: Portraits of Shakespeare There is no written description of Shakespeare's physical appearance and no evidence that he ever commissioned a portrait, so the Droeshout engraving, which Ben Jonson approved of as a good likeness,[183] and his Stratford monument provide the best evidence of his appearance. From the 18th century, the desire for authentic Shakespeare portraits fuelled claims that various surviving pictures depicted Shakespeare. That demand also led to the production of several fake portraits, as well as misattributions, repaintings and relabelling of portraits of other people.

THE IMPACT OF THE MEDIA ON BAD BODY IMAGE IN CHILDREN Kristiina Tammik What is body image? Body image is the perception of one's own body, based chiefly in comparison to socially constructed standards or ideals The way you perceive yourself How you feel IN your body What you believe about your appearance What is the issue? Negative body image is important to recognize because often, whether the person has control over the issue or not, it leads to harmful results. Poor body image comes from the idea that there is only one type of "perfect body". It is a big problem in today's society and is causing major issues in many lives. Facts 42% of 1st-3rd grades want to be thinner At age 13, 53% of the girls are `'unhappy with their body"

The Unique Girl When walking on the streets you can often see someone with a great style whom you look at and think "What an odd appearance. Kind of cool, but odd". If you bothered to waste your brain you could think that about every other person actually. It must be said that the Lila looks cool and stylish. Her style has become a trend even though she doesn't admit to it. She sees herself as one of a kind. At least that is what she wishes she could be. She mustn't be mistaken for the labels girl. Lila hates all kinds of labels. She never wears Guess or D&G even though she could very well afford them. She does all her shopping

The Christmas season in the UK would be nothing without the traditional ,,panto". Comedians, singers and dancers perform in hilariously exaggerated ways. The shows are mostly aimed to children and are based on popular fairy stories and folk legends. Pantomime has become big business in the UK. It can often run for six to eight weeks. Pantomime needs to have a strong story line and has to include all the important elements as the good battling against the evil where the good must come out as a winner. Shows include comic chases and situations which are known as Slapstick comedy. This comedy takes its name from a magical device that makes slapping noise and is used by characters. The most famous of those pantomime clowns was Joseph grimaldi who made his first appearance in 1800. Pantomime now had its first real star.

Character sketch Tom Buchanan The Great Gatsby F. Scott Fizgerald Thomas ,,Tom" Buchanan is a wealthy husband of Daisy Buchanan. They live on East Egg and are both connected to Nick Carraway, the novel's narrator. Daisy is Nick's cousin and Tom was once a member of his social club at Yale. Tom was a football player, enjoys polo and is a racist. Nick describes Tom's appearance quite well: ,,He was a sturdy straw-haired man of thirty with a rather hard mouth and a supercilious manner. Two shining arrogant eyes had established dominance over his face and gave him the appearance of always leaning aggressively forward. Not even the effeminate swank of his riding clothes could hide the enormous power of that body -- he seemed to fill those glistening boots until he strained the top

As soon as I saw the rest of the group at the airport, I realised that I made a dreadful mistake. I shouldn’t have booked this trip alone. I should have invited a friend with me. Rest of the group standing few hundred meters away from me were punks. I mean literally punk people with their weird hairstyles and entirely dressed in black. They seemed so terryfing to me. Few of them noticed me standing here and they gave me smirky smiles. That scared me even more. How the hell am I supposed to enjoy this trip with these guys? I started walking slowly towards them, thinking that maybe I should turn around and not go to this trip. But I payed so much money and waited for this journey for so long. I reached the group and I was shaking a little. But you know what? They turned out to be the nicest and friendliest people and I had the best trip ever with them. That’s why there is a saying that don’t judge a book by it’s cover- so basically don’t ...
1) Purpose The purpose of this report is to suggest ways to make the shop more profitable. 2) Shop condition The shop condition is at this moment very bad. Shop has lost many customers and it has changed a lot lately- has become not so attractive like it used to be and income has decreased because of that. Firstly, it would be a good idea to make some flayers about the shop’s planned changes. 3) Shop’s apperance Secondly, I think it would be useful to refresh shop’s appearance. Paint it all over again and redecorate the interior. Customers would like that and it will invite new people to the shop. 4) Increasing the shop’s income Finally, we could organize market days, when the prices are low and there are a lot of different goods. This is the way, how to get people to the shop and it will increase the income and profit. 5) Conclusion To sum up, I belive that if we include some of the suggestions above, we will be able to make the shop more profitable.
specialist circles. In recent American English usage, a car's fascia is its front-end "look" - grille, headlamps, front bumper, and other details. This area is possibly the most critical in defining a car's identifiable look, and is also the easiest to restyle when a car's styling needs to be refreshed (due to the fact that front end panels, grille, lights, etc. can be updated with different styling and fitted to the same chassis to significantly change the appearance rather than redesigning the entire body/chassis of the car). Again, this word is mostly used by the auto trade and automotive journalists. Furthermore, the fascia is used to describe the single panel that conceals the bumper, front or rear, and ties the bumper element visually with the sides of the vehicle--often including an inlet for cooling. 93% [citation needed] of fascias are made of TPO (thermoplastic olefin elastomer). his words? He was scared by the propriety and the lack of manners and intelligence of the other members of the Bennets family except Jane and Elizabeth. 6. How did Darcy justify his interference with the relationship between Jane and Bingley? He never ment to do any harm, but simply assumed by a glance that Jane isn'i into Bingley as deeply as It would've been necessary for a happy marriage. 7. What words did Darcy use to describe Elizabeth's appearance at the ball where they first met? He claimed that Elizabeth wasn't pretty, nor elegant enough to catch his eye. 8. What was the attitude of Darcy / Elizabeth towards dancing? There was a quiet challenge between the two of them, they tried to look through each other while dancing, probably to find reasons for dislike which was dangerously fading and being transferred into interest. 9. What did an "accomplished woman" have to be like and what qualities to possess
Many famous film stars, singers and pop arts go on a diet to lose weight. There's nothing wrong with that but you have to know where to draw the line. Being on a diet may seriously affect your mind and body and not in a good way. We also see many over-weight people. That is another extreme. Over-weight is not good for your heart and its actions. It severely damages your heart work and simultanously causes many heart problems. It also shortens your life, too. When people say the appearance of waif-like models in the media may send a dangerous message about eating disorders, general fitness, fashion magazines and television shows with thin characters also play a key role in infuluencing irregular eating patterns. Wll, I think they're right because people take stars as exaples and want to be like them. The same way people mistakely believe that they're too fat or they're over-weight eventhough it's not true.

First of all, if parents could design their own baby everyone would be perfect. What is more there would not be any babies born with illnesses or disabilities, both mental and physical. This is good news both to parents and children because living together with a handicap or being one is a very hard and sad thing. Another major point is, how far would people go designing their babies. One thing is to make sure that your baby is healthy but to design your child's appearance is superficial, what is more, it is morally wrong. In addition the way one person looks is not as important as the personality. To sum people should not have the right to design their own children. The only thing parents should have the right to control is whether their child is going to be healthy and free from diseases.
It would also free children from the pressure to buy trendy clothes. All the childrens would be dressed in the same way and as a result it would cut out a school bullying, which is often used, because some children do not have money to buy expensive and fashionable clothes and they are bullied because of that. Children would not have to think about what to wear in the morning and parents save time taking children shopping and spending extra money. Children will be that much less focused on appearance and more on learning. However school uniforms are good there is some disadvantages too. For example children can not show their character, which is often based on clothing. Some school uniform may be more expensive than oridnary clothes and it is will make financial problems for poor families. All in all, I think that school uniforms are useful and children can not make fun of them because their parents could not afford to buy them the newest trendy garment.

Therefore it is very important to find out who is guilty of the climate changing. Many people are confident that the reason of global warming is man made carbon dioxide. Over the last hundred years our society has been developing very fast: there has been built a huge amount of different factories, has been made so many inventions in all fields of human activity. Unfortunately only recently we have noticed that by making our life more comfortable and more enjoyable we destroy nature and cause appearance of ozone holes which are directly connected with global warming. On the other hand many scientists believe the world's warming and cooling happens in cycles due to various factors and Earth is starting a cooling trend after a long warming trend. That way global warming does not depend on people's activity. We have seen and heard so many times how was discussed the problem of global change but there is still no answer what is the reason of that. At this moment we

I could come up with a very long list of qualities and attributes that I would like for my ideal mate to possess. First of all, I would like for him to have a great personality and sense of humor. He should be kind, loyal, honest, loving, sincere, affectionate, and caring. He should also possess the qualities of maturity, integrity, and generosity. He must have good morals and values and be a non-smoker and non-drinker. I would like for my ideal man to be handsome and attractive in his appearance. He would need to be open to the ideas of commitment, marriage, and starting a family someday, because that is very important to me. My ideal mate would be a wonderful husband and father. He should be able to openly communicate his thoughts and feelings and share everything that is important to him with me. I would like for our relationship to be the kind of loving, trusting relationship that everyone aspires to have. He and I will share many
