The Regent's Zoo
It is the northern park in the London. There is a zoo in this park.
Greenwich
It is a district in south-east London on the south bank of the River Thames. It is best known
for its maritime history and as giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude) and
Greenwich Mean Time. Romans called it Grenovicum.
During the reign of Danes, Danish fleets attacked Kent and so making Alphege the
Archbishop their prisoner. They stoned him to death for his refusal to allow his ransom to be
paid and kept his body, until the blossoming of a stick that had been immersed in his blood.
For this miracle his body was released to his followers. In the 12th century a church was
dedicated to him. The present church was completed in 1718.
Palace of Placentia was built in 1447 by Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester. It was named by
Margaret of Anjou. Edward IV further enlarged and completed it
