There should be compulsory school subjects. Students should be allowed to choose the subjects they want to study. Do you agree? Essay There are many different subjects in school. Most of them are compulsory. Students have to learn them, even if they are not interested. Perhaps they should be allowed to choose subjects that they want to study. On one hand I think that subjects shoudn't be compulsory in high school because peolple should concentrate on the subjects that will be useful for them in the future. For example: for a person who wants to study Polish philology, maths and physics may not be important. Students should be given the opportunity to take their future into their own hands. So choosing a subject for

Rules are to be followed-disagree or agree?

To start with,Rules are to be followed, but another question is if all the people will do it.Rude behaviour and swearing are not tolerated in Britain unlike in Estonia. The people of Britain are more polite than Estonians. The manners, greetings and small talks have to be considerable if you want to leave a British person a good impression. When the question is small talk, big deal? Then in my opinion, there are certain rules, which kind of topics are allowed or not allowed. For the small talks you can`t talk about politics or money. Also bragging isn`t polite.Safe topics are for example asking about pets or about the life of some celebrates. For British, this kind of small talks are very important. One wrong word can ruine the whole impression of you. Bad manners are the biggest problems facing Britain.Spitting and swearing are the most popular ones, along with not saying please or thank you .In britain it is absolutely

Corporal punishment

may react too fiercely. I believe with all the changes taking place in our world today, it is not realistic to think that the idea of corporal punishment would ever take hold again in schools. I think that most children would respond negatively to a change like this and that this change would only create more of a problem in the long run. Bullying can have a very bad effect on the child who is being bullied and on the child who is allowed to go on bullying. Corporal punishment was not allowed in our school. That is strictly denied to physically punish students in any way. In closing I believe that corporal punishment in schools is a thing of the past. I think that corporal punishment is wrong. Children should be punished when acting out in schools, but that punishment should be in a non-violent form.

Finished topic- mass media

MASS MEDIA By ''mass media '' we intend to those means of communication which can reach large or mass audiences. The most important are probably Television, Radio, the Press and Internet. The English-speaking peoples have always allowed more freedom of speech and of the press than most other countries. This gave them an advantage from the start in communications. The ground work for mass communications in the 20th century was laid in the 19th century by two inventions which allowed people to communicate by wire. These were the electric telegraph and the telephone. The telegraph was invented in Britain in 1837. They were being used in the Civil war. It allowed messages to be sent electrically over telegraph wires. This

player standing at the 6 m line). After a goal has been scored, the team conceding the goal restarts the game. Its players move to the center line. Once a player has the ball under control the referee will blow his whistle to restart play. All players of the team which are restarting the play must be behind the line on their own half, or else the restarting throw will have to be retaken. Only the defending goalkeeper is allowed to step inside the six meter (6m) perimeter, though any player may attempt to catch and touch the ball in the air within it. If a player should find himself in contact inside the goal perimeter he must immediately take the most direct path out of it. Should a defender make contact with an attacker while in the goal perimeter, their team is penalized with a direct attempt at the goal, with only one attacker on the seven-meter line and the defending goalkeeper involved.

the East India Company. Because Parliament heavily taxed this tea and charged the East India company tarrifs, both Britons and British Americans found that it was much cheaper to buy smuggled tea, which usually came from Dutch sources. The biggest market for smuggled tea was England, but tea was also smuggled into the colonies to a lesser extent. Tea Act 1773 In response to this, the British government passed the Tea Act, which allowed the East India Company to sell tea to the colonies directly, paying the much lower American duty. This tax break allowed the East India Company to sell tea for half the old price and cheaper than the price of tea in England, enabling them to undercut the prices offered by the colonial merchants and smugglers, granting them a virtual monopoly. Many American colonists, particularly the wealthy smugglers, resented this favored treatment of a major company.

have about my presentation. SLAID 2 Lets start with history. Wooden pallets date back to 1000 B.C. Egiptians used sheets of wood for transport and storage. These wooden sheets are called skids or sleads. They are still in use but their shape and durability has changed a lot. It was the during the early 1920’s, shortly after the modern forklift was invented, when skids evolved into pallets, revolutionizing the way merchandise was stored and transported. The new design of pallets allowed goods to be moved, stored and stacked with extraordinary speed and versatility. During the WWII the allied countries established a standard size pallet to ease shipment and transportation. This agreement skyrocketed the production and popularity of wooden pallets during the war After the war variety of sizes and designs were produced and used. The transport and storage of different sizes pallets made it costly and ment higher labor costs. So in 1968, the distribution managers of several

I have found the advertisement in the Internet and I am going to ask some questions. First of all I wonder if pets are allowed in the house of family booking? We have a dog and that would be really very difficult to leave him at home alone for two weeks. What about extra fee car parking? How much would it cost? Is there a fridge in the kitchen? I am also interested in price. All the rent costs 252 €? Including bed linen & towels? Or we have to take along our toiletries? And finally: What about internet access? Do you have it? Looking forward to your answer, Yours faithfully, Mari Mets

What are the best ways to prevent teenagers from committing crimes

Nowadays there are many reasons why teenagers could be influenced into committing crimes. A lack of life experience can lead teenagers into criminal and even dangerous situations, such as robbery, taking drugs or drinking alcohol. I think, there are many ways to prevent teenagers from committing crimes. Firstly, I think, that teenagers lifestyle is their parents responsibility. Parents have to teach teenagers how to control their anger. Also it shouldn't be allowed for teenagers to watch cruel movies with violence. Moreover there are different programs, which help teenagers to use communication as a mean of handle conflicts, arguments and misunderstandings. Also there should be special lessons at school, which will help student to overcome with their problems. In conclusion I want to say, that there are many ways how to prevent teenagers from committing crimes. In my opinion, the most effective is when teenagers communicate and spend a lot time

On October 5th, 2015 the Final Report on Limiting Base Erosion Involving Interest Deductions and Other Financial Payments was presented analyzing several best practices and recommending new rules for limiting the level of interest expenses allowed for tax deductions. The recommended approach by the OECD is to limit the entity’s net interest expenses, and payments economically equivalent to interest, to a percentage of entity’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA). The net interest expense/EBITDA ratio should be fixed in a corridor of 10-30%. This approach aims at two objectives – uses net interest expense to calculate the

He's the first to arrive to meetings. In business time equals money and that is something that isn't useful to waste. Ideas are also very important. An ideal person has to be full of them all the time. Great ideas are used to improve business and to make a lot of money. Trust and honesty are two very important qualities for an ideal businessman. If people don't trust you or don't feel comfortable as your customers, they usually turn to another company and you may lose a very big client. Mercy kill as a way out

Mercy kill as a way out Mercy killing has always been a controversial topic, some believe that practicing it should be punished because it could lead to bad consequences but others think a person should never be punished just for helping. Mercy killing should not be punished. People with terminal illness usually experience a lot suffering and when they have a choice whether to live in pain and be a burden to their family and hospital or die in peace, many usually prefer the second choice. Some prefer to die with dignity and if mercy killing would be punished they simply would have the freedom of choose. On the other hand mercy killing should be punished. If mercy killing becomes something usual younger people might start thinking life has a smaller value. A tremendous amount of resources is used to keep the terminally ill people alive and doctors might start using euthanasia as something to save up the resources...

porpoises. Each year more than 10000 porpoises are killed in the seas around Britain. Fishingboats are using a technique witch consists in leaving the nets on the sea bed for several hours. When porpoises come to feed on the sea bed, they get caught in the nets and drown. There is a need for a research to make nets safer for porpoises. For example, one possibility would be to restrict the length of nets. This should be a duty of marine mammal organisations. Also should be limited the allowed amount of fish to be caught. This should be the duty of The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Naturally it is not possible to forbid fishing but some restrictions can surely be done. It is very important to maintain the balance in our seas. Every creature has its importance and we should protect them. Yours faithfully, Triin Engmann

Comparing artists

Tracy Chapman is a multi-platinum and four-time Grammy Award-winning artist. During college, Chapman began street-performing and playing guitar in coffeehouses in Cambridge. After graduating from Tufts, she released the album called "Tracy Chapman" (1988). The album was critically acclaimed, and she began touring and building a fanbase. Brooks's integration of rock elements into his recordings and live performances made him very popular and allowed him to dominate the country music. Troubled by conflicts between career and family, in 2001 Brooks officially retired from recording and performing. To sum up, it can be said that both artists are very popular. They do melodic and exciting music and they also have a very good impact on people because of their calming and great styles.

Should people be allowed to have cosmetic surgery before the age of eighteen? In the modern media stars and celebrities get a lot of attention thanks to cosmetic surgery. This is getting through to the young people of today, but is it OK for a teenager to get cosmetic surgery? Many people nowadays think that teenagers are getting more independent. They often do things on their own and sometimes things that they wouldn't be proud of in the future. It is certainly true that cosmetic surgery costs a lot of money. People under the age of age of eighteen live with their parents. Usually parents have to cover their expenses. On the other hand minors might get into an accident and need cosmetic surgery to look the same again. If disfigured a child can feel left out which is not good. Another point in favor is that some people might have a serious birth defect like cleft lip and they might want to get it removed. ...

Titanic - film review

and written by James Cameron, music by James Horner. The important characters are Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack dawson and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater. In the film we see that a ship called ,,Titanic" sails out. The people are very happy to board the ship. They consider it as an unsinkable ship.In the first half of the movie Rose and Jack fall in love. They are trying to be together although it is not allowed because Rose is from the good family and Jack is just a poor boy. But in the other half of the movie, something different happens. The ship hits an iceberg and sinks. Jack dies, but Rose survives. I have never liked other movies so much. This movie is the best on my list. ,,Titanic" is a movie which is perfect in every aspect. I like it very much and I will watch this movie again with a big pleasure. In my opinion, ,,Titanic" is a film what goes to the heart. It captures the soul

Formal letter about holiday

Firstly, i would like to get some more information about the hotels and the cities we are going to visit. I was also wondering if there's going to be a tour guide to talk about the history of Sweden. Could you tell me more about these things? Secondly, I am a little bit worried about my health. Could you send me information about the diseases and health risks in this country, just in case. And i was also wondering if the health insurance is included? I would also like to know if pets are allowed in the hotels as my friend is having dog allergy. Thirdly, it's said that the price includes everything except the museums. Could you possibly tell me how much money is needed for these museums and are they obligatory? We would also like to buy some souvenirs if possible. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Name

December of 1917. Põltsamaa Co-education Gymnasium celebrate school anniversary festively every year. That schoolhouse, where we study now, was built on 1967 and it was renovated on 2009. Head of school is Aimar Arula. There are studying 841 students in 37 classes. We have 4 terms September 1. until October 24., November 2. until December 24., January 11. until March 20. and March 29. until June 5. We get reports every end of the terms. We don't have school uniform, we're allowed to wear, what we want. School lunches are 20 minutes long. Food isn't and don't taste very well. That, when you can go to eat, depends on which number of class you are. In our school are sport days about three times per year Autumn, Winter and Spring. We have competitions between different classes and we have special team with teachers. School parties are about twice a month, but they aren't very cool. It happens very rarely, when the party turns out good, but this is my opinion.

Benefits of the EU

Benefits of the EU The European Union was formed after the Second World War, because some political leaders believed that it was the only way to avoid conflicts in the future. There are many benefits in the EU, for example the EU has allowed citizen of the European Union to travel freely around Europe and millions EU citizens have moved to other EU country to work or to study. The EU has also given European countries a voice in world affairs. Smaller countries like Estonia and Latvia now can also get a word in world affairs, they are heard. Another advantage of the EU is that the EU has a strong common currency Euro. It makes travelling easier and also cheaper, because you can go on holiday and not have to worry about

The family who turned back the clock.

The family who turned back the clock. When Malcolm Jones woke up last Monday, he heard the birds singing. Not remarkable, you might think, especially given that he lives near a forest. But birdsong in the Jones household is usually drowned by a tidal wave of electronic music crashing around the house as soon as his four children wake up. This is a family who have chosen to fill their home with every conceivable gadget. They have nine television sets, including one in each bedroom and in the kitchen. All the children have their own personal computers and CD players. Of course, there are all the usual appliances we all take for granted, such as the washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, deep freeze, microwave oven, and video recorder, but they also have an electric trouser press, two power showers, an Olympic-sized spa bath and jacuzzi, three cars, and a music system which plays throughout the whole house. ...

Nobody can win a war

Everyone had their own reason for a war. One thought, that getting of the worldwide power is the goal of his life, another wanted to get more money, territory or even some kind of revenge. Bur war brings with it human's deaths, innocent victims, hunger, illnesses, violence, distractions etc. Is this worth fighting? On the one hand, there are some people who are able to kill houndreds of innocent victims to make his goal realized, because he has a power and he is allowed to do everything he wants. In addition to that, sometimes people use a war just to justify their revenge, they just use the power, they have, to satisfy own ambitions to feel a win's spirit. So they become winners, but it is only formally. On the other hand, there is only one advantage of a war getting some territory or money, but it has much more disadvantages like violence, distraction, houndreds of innocent victims, human's deaths etc.

Environment - essee 217 sõna

problems will be less bad if not lost at all. Firstly, everybody should start from himself. I have some experiences of helping environment. Every year many people come to riversides and lakesides to have a rest. But many of them are absolutely unfriendly with our nature. Due to this situation I had cleaned lakesides many times. Secondly, we should follow some simple rules that everybody know, but still a lot of people does not keep. I do not like to throw litter away where it is not allowed and may cause pollution. When I see some of my friends doing this then I explain usually that it is not good and why. Many of them have understood me. However, all things in nature are dependent on one another and we should act together. Humanity is utterly in contact with a healthy natural environment. So, we have to choose, if we want to let things happen how they are now or let next generations to take the clean air and drink unpolluted water.

Capital punishment - inglise keel

of these criminals. Secondly it is too expensive to hold prisoners who have lifelong punishment. Especially it affects countries who are financially disadvantaged. It is not fair that taxpayers have to maintain the murders. Thirdly death penalty scares potential criminals. Many people kill another people because they want to go to prison, but if they have to pay for it with their own life maybe they reconsider it. Capital punishment must be allowed. For a cold blooded killer, capital punishment is the only true way of justice. The world would be a lot less intimidating place when all the criminals who deserve do die, get punished by death sentance. Kristel Kink 12A

The First Years of the School: Reval Gymnasium

The set of laws influenced the life of the students a lot. They designated how the students were supposed to act in the school and in their free time. (show the pic) For example the laws said that the students were supposed to concentrate on studying and improving their intelligence and that students with lower intelligence should just study harder although people with no cognitive skills were advised to do something else than study. Students were also not allowed to sleep anywhere else than their home and to swim in cold water. For breaking the rules students could be punished with flogging, sitting on the floor, reading religious texts or a fine.

Shopping has become a favourite past time among young people

I think that the fact is that shopping has become one of the most favourite past times among young people, because nowadays in the cities are shopping centres. Opponents of this view say, that the main reason why it is gone this way is that fashion is getting popular among adolescents. Many people are in favour of clothes and accessories what are followed by the latest trend. Moreover, our economy has been developed, so peoples are living well and due to that they are allowed to spend money for shopping. Needless to say, that young people often get too much money from their parents and wasting it at the mall. Lastly, nowadays many young people don't know about other activities beside internet and shopping. Contrary to the popular belief, it is know that there are much more interesting activities for youths what must be encouraged by the older generation. For example sport games like football what takes skill and practice. Also it is much healthier than shopping
