In Deutschland die Männer machen einen Ausflüg, der oft mit viel Alkohol verbunden ist. Vorweihnachtszeit in Estland ist nicht so wichtig wie in Deutschland. Esten dekorieren die Stadt nicht so früh, wie die Deutschen. Wir zünden die Lichtern in den ersten Advent an. Nicht nur in Deutschland, sondern auch in Estland haben Kinder einen Adventskalender mit vierundzwanzig kleinen Türchen. Nach dem ersten Advent feiern die Deutschen Nikolaustag. In Estland feiern wir Nikolaustag nicht. Estnische Kinder glauben nicht, dass Nikolaus kleine Geschenke und Süssigkeiten bringt. Nach dem vierten Advent feiern wir Heilige Abend. It was very interesting to get to know more about British Christmas and the traditions related to it, but now I would like to write about how we celebrate Christmas in Estonia. Usually we start to prepare for Christmas four weeks before it, by putting out advent candles. Each week we light one, till by Christmas it's four of those. On Christmas Eve we usually go to cemetery, where we light candles and also go to church to hear Christmas service and where well known Christmas songs are sung. After that we go home, to eat traditionally sauerkraut with potatoes and blood sausage and also roast pork or brawn. Earlier we have baked and decorated gingerbreads. I woke up early that beautiful day, because there were guests coming over. Like in any other winter morning i rushed to the window sill to see if the dwarves have left something in my christmas stocking. I remember exactly, what was in there that day, it was kinder surprise. I liked kinder surprises a lot, because the chocolate would melt in your mouth and there was a surprise between the two halves of the chocolate. At 1 o'clock, the guests arrived. They were my grandparents. Guests brought pies made by grandma and a beautiful bunch of flowers since i'd just had my birthday a week before. Saint John´s Church situates in Tallinn on the freedom square. It is one of the earliest neogothic churches in Estonia. The architect of the church was Cristoph August Gabler. Building of the church started in 1869 and ended in 1867. The third advent was celebrated the same year the church was built in. Saint John´s church is about 140 years old. On the 1st of January it had its last praying and then the key of the church was handed over to the renovators. Residents of the Saint John´s church moved into the church of Niguliste. Christmas Eve 24 December Most of the traditions, such as Christmas dinner and gift giving are observed in Estonia on this day. Santa Claus visits homes in person, played by an older family member or a rent-a-Santa. In Estonia people traditionally eat pork, blood sausage, sourkraut and potatoes(mashed, boiled or baked potatoes). The tradition is very old. The days before Christmas, families light a new light each Sunday each advent. Also days before Christmas, Christmas decoration are put up, and gingerbreads and saffron buns are baked, often homemade. Many people also make gingerbread houses. Then the children often hand out the presents which are opened immediately. Taking what he learned from the footage, Chaplin would often completely reorganize a scene. It was not uncommon for him to decide half-way through a film that an actor wasn't working and start over with someone new. Many actors found the constant takes and uncertainty grueling, but always went along because they knew they were working for a master. Though Chaplin is of the silent movie era, we see his achievements carried through in the films of today. With the advent of the feature-length talkies, the need for more subtle acting became apparent. To maintain the audience's attention throughout a six-reel film, an actor needed to move beyond constant slapstick. Chaplin had demanded this depth long before anyone else. His rigor and concern for the processes of acting and directing made his films great and led the way to a new, more sophisticated, cinema.
