Nellie Bly
Dangers and problems
Bly travelled using steamships and the existing railroad system, wich caused
occasional setbacks, particulary on the Asian leg of her race
As a result of rough weather on her Pacific crossing, she arrived in San
Fransisco two days behind the schedule.
She also had missed a connection and had had to board a slow, old ship in
the place of a fast ship.
Expetations:
She tought the
journey would
take 80 days.
But she
accoplished the
journey within 72
days.
What did she say after completing the journey?
She was amazed that she could do it almost alone and live in a ship/boat for
almost 72 days.
Nellie was happy that she had accomplished such a big thing.
She was also proud of herself to be the fist woman to do this kind of thing.
