Did she face any problems before the journey started?
No, because her trip was well-planned.

Almost all of the time she travelled alone.
Stages of her journey:
She went through England,
France (where she met Jules Verne in Amiens),
Brindisi,
The Seuz Canal,
Colombo (Ceylon),
The Straits Settlements of Penang and Singapore (where she bought a monkey),
Hong Kong,
Japan,
China,
Pacific Ocean,
San Francisco,
Aaaaand then she arrived back home in New Jersey.
Dangers and problems
Bly travelled using steamships and the existing railroad system, wich caused
occasional setbacks, particulary on the Asian leg of her race
As a result of rough weather on her Pacific crossing, she arrived in San
Fransisco two days behind the schedule.
She also had missed a connection and had had to board a slow, old ship in
the place of a fast ship.
Expetations:
She tought the
journey would
take 80 days.
