The largest of these is the festival
commemorating David Oistrakh, the world-famous violinist, also Neeme Järvi organizes festivals
in Pärnu. Along with classical music, which culminates in the Glass Pearl Festival in July and
August, the improvisation competition on the year's shortest night lives: here musicians
improvise well-known melodies, and there is always room for jazz and pop music.
