Sheep senses and social cognition Sheep generally are held in low regard as far as cognition and social skills are concerned. However there is now interesting evidence from studies of their behaviour and brain function that they have highly sophisticated social and emotional recognition skills using faces, voices and smell. They are able to recognize and remember many diferent sheep and humans for several years or more and appear to have some capacity for forming mental images of the faces of absent individuals. The precence of such social cognition abilities in this species means that we must pay careful attention to welfare factors such as the composition and
What role does social life play in our lives? Social life plays important role in our life. If there's not a lot going on in your social life it can be quite stressful and leave you feeling lonely or generally unhappy. Conversely if you do have an active social life, you will find that it improves your mood, your social skills and even your health. Why do people have bad social life? Usually the people who have bad social life are the ones who are shy, insecure and are afraid to open up to other people. They are not interacting with each other enough and they don't know how to meet new people. What are the symptoms of bad social life? People who don't have good social life often complain about always being left out and they are the ones whose name nobody can remember. They may become stressed or even deprsessed. How to improve your social life? First, work out what is causing your bad social life

Ülevaade A-GPS tehnoloogiast A-GPS (Assisteeritud GPS) on tehnoloogia, mis parandab GPS seadmete leitavust olukorras, kus GPS signaal on nõrk. Näiteks parandab see seadme leitavust majades ja kõrghoonete vahel. intentions and purposes (Bremmer & Moore, 1984). The notion of the significance of purpose- or telecology- of pictorial behavior in the discourse about development of graphic abilities has been at the center of a map- like model of development that has emerged as an alternative to the traditional stage models (Darras & Kindler, 1996: Kindler & Darras, 1997a, 1997b, 1998). This model regards emergence and development of pictorial imagery as a semiotic process occurring in an interactive social environment that leads to pictorial behaviors that may engage single or multiple modalities of expression. This framework acknowledges psychobiological factors that found development of pictorial activity while emphasizing the role of culture in validating or deselecting specific pictorial systems. It constitutes an attempt to decolonize discourse about artistic development by pointing to the usefulness and value of pictorial repertoires that have remained
service value instead of usage, making connectivity an element of the service, and therefore not being visible for the consumer. Mobile operators should avoid becoming mere merchandise by boosting the potential of their networks for value added services to become a part of a US$ 422.6 billion industry. One of the latest innovations is the ability to remote provisioning of IoT devices used in hazardous locations, by using an embedded sim which takes away the need to access the sim physically. Mobile networks might have to be upgraded to recognize services in order to be able to provide the necessary bandwidth. Migratory services will likely make the use of location information and geo-fencing critically important, meaning the network has to identify the device to know whether it might be a car involved in an accident or a device that is moving but should not be. It is probably important for the IoT services to be able to withstand an enormous amount of

People don't physically visit each other anymore and why should they, when they can talk and have fun without even rising from their seats. Nowadays they can even order food and other domestic products online. Why leave the safety of your home, when everything is online? My second argument will be the psyche of the people overusing virtual communication. It is no secret that people spending too much time online start to change. This often occurs with children. Their grades and social life deteriorates, because of forums and such take up extended amounts of their time. Also they can get themselves into trouble, because they think they are anonymous and because of that, they are doing things they should not do, for example being racist in the wrong place. Actually, there is no anonymity on the internet. Certain authorities can always find you. But the poor children don't know that and they can ruin their lives just by writing some wrong words in wrong order. We have many

The Russification policies of the late 19th century restrained the development of national cultural life. It was a specific counter-attack on the influence of German culture by the tsarist government. The Russian language was established as the official language in all schools and government institutions. In spite of this Estonian social and cultural life continued to develop, the song festivals retained their nationalist spirit, choral singing remained popular and the number of brass bands grew. David Otto Wirkhaus (1837-1912) was the first organiser and conductor at the all-Estonian song festivals. The non-existence of national independence, the limitations to civil liberties and political activity, the shortage of funds and capable intellectuals all provided obstacles

That requires an altogether different approach. The Unintentional Dark Horse Let's be clear: I'm neither a doctor nor a PhD. I am a meticulous data cruncher with access to many of the world's best athletes and scientists. This puts me in a rather unusual position. I'm able to pull from disciplines and subcultures that rarely touch one another, and I'm able to test hypotheses using the kind of self-experimentation mainstream practitioners can't condone (though their help behind the scenes is critical). By challenging basic assumptions, it's possible to stumble upon simple and unusual solutions to long-standing problems. Overfat

impossible to make confident predictions about the emergence of a global language, because here are no precedents for this kind of linguistic growth, other than on a much smaller scale. The speed with which a global language scenario has arisen is truly remarkable. Likewise D. Crystal claims that no government has yet found it possible to plan confidently, in such circumstances. ● Languages of identity need to be maintained. ● Access to the emerging global language – widely perceived as a language of opportunity and empowerment – needs to be guaranteed. Both principles demand massive resources. Fundamental decisions about priorities have to be made. According to Cristal, those making the decisions need to bear in mind that we may well be approaching a critical moment in human linguistic history. It is possible that a global language will emerge only once
8 ➤ CHANGE YOUR THINKING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE For example, imagine that you could be earning twice as much as you are earning today. Imagine that you could be living in a bigger house, driving a better car, and enjoying a more ex- pensive lifestyle. Imagine that you have the ability to be one of the top people in your field. Imagine that you are one of the most popular, powerful, and persuasive personalities in your social and business world. Imagine that you are calm, confident, and unafraid of anything. Imagine that you could set and achieve any goal you put your mind to. This is how you begin changing your thinking and changing your life. The starting point of eliminating your fears, and releasing your potential, is to reprogram your mental hard drive with new, positive, constructive, and courageous beliefs about yourself and your future.
comparatively few people could become learned. Now, theoretically, our electronic age makes learning easier than ever. Well, technology is indisputably better. We can store and retrieve data much more efficiently. We can communicate in a flash. But still, at the basic level, we must be well grounded -- we must possess common sense, civil manners, frank discussion skills, reasoning abilities, and moral fiber. It is possible to be a technological genius, say a computer nerd, without social skills or civil conscience. I'd rather have as a neighbor an illiterate janitor with an easy-going, friendly disposition. Hence, I value what we might call character more than specialist knowledge from an antisocial person. God knows we want everyone to be a well-mannered genius. But humans are not cut out to be happy like pigs in a pen. We instead have insatiable brains, with mental appetites. So our goal is to balance the brainwork with hearts and smiles. "Facts served with sauce."
account holder. Skimming works by replacing a card reader like an ATM with a camouflaged counterfeit card reader. The counterfeit reader records all of the data on a credit, debit or ATM card as it passes through the skimmer.[7] Man-in-the-middle-attack This type of theft involves criminally intercepting communication between two parties and recording the information without the two parties ever knowing about it. The criminal then uses this information to access accounts and possibly steal the user's identity.[4] Phishing Phishing is a form of fraud in which the attacker tries to learn information such as login credentials or account information by masquerading as a reputable entity or person in email, IM or other communication channels.[8] What are the consequences for the victims of identity theft? Although none of the victim's personal possessions may have been taken, there can actually be a number of large and serious consequences for victims

English literature is one of the oldest literatures in Europe; dates back to the 6th century AD. Oral literature, i.e. not written down, spread from person to person. In 449 AD Anglo-‐Saxon tribes invaded England – beginning of the Anglo-‐Saxon period in English literature. The first form of literature was folklore, carried by scops and gleemen, who sang in alliterative verse (a kind of simple poetry). Prose developed much later. The first form of recorded English literature was the epic Beowulf, which was produced sometime near the end of the 7th and beginning

They point out that he took no pleasure from his killing and, unlike the snipers, he had no choice; it was kill or be killed. Summary Paul, Tjaden, Müller, Kropp, Detering, and Kat have to guard a supply dump in an abandoned village. They use a concrete shelter for a dugout and take advantage of the opportunity to eat and sleep as much as they can. They take a large mahogany bed, mattresses, and blankets into their dugout because they rarely have access to such luxuries. They collect eggs and butter, and they have the luck to find two suckling pigs. They collect fresh vegetables and cook a grand dinner in a well-outfitted kitchen near the dugout. Paul makes pancakes while the others roast the pigs. Unfortunately, the enemy sees the smoke rising from the chimney and bombs the house. As the attack begins, the men gather the food and make a dash for the dugout. Paul finishes cooking the pancakes while the bombs fall around him
The role and power of the mass media Our world today is increasingly driven by a combination of information and entertainment values, and these are both promoted by the explosion of different means of communication, especially electronic communication such as satellite TV and Internet. This means the market for information is extremely competitive and is characterized by the following: 1. Overload on the audience: Most people today, even in many developing countries, have access to scores of information sources in their homes and offices, including television, radio, internet and others. The audience is over-loaded with options, so if you want to catch someone's attention via the mass media you have to produce quality material that is deemed appropriate to use by journalists and deemed worth reading or viewing by the audience. 2. Overload on the mass media: Most journalists are flooded with sources of
5 percent of GDP and 191.6 percent of annual exports--clearly an unsustainable level for Ukraine. In late 2011, Ukraine's official reserves were some $30 billion. Paying back its debt--barring a further accelerated depletion of foreign exchange reserves--would be close to impossible without fresh foreign finance, preferably in the form of disbursements from the IMF. A two-year IMF stand-by arrangement, put in place in 2008, provided exceptional access to financing that was crucial in helping Ukraine through the Great Recession. In particular, it helped to prevent a banking crisis. In many respects, however, Ukraine reneged on its commitments, and the program went off-track very soon, as a 2011 IMF evaluation concludes. This holds for fiscal, exchange rate, and monetary policies, but in particular for the energy sector. In 2008, Ukraine committed itself to phasing out all gas subsidies in three years, but little was done on that front

Prescribe – to tell someone what they must have or do, or to make a rule of something Impose The word law can have several meanings, it can be divided into prescriptive and descriptive law. Descriptive law – describes the way people or natural phenomena behave, e. g. law of gravity Prescriptive law – prescribe how people ought to behave e.g. speed limits In all societies relations between people are regulated by prescriptive law; customs (informal rules of social and moral behaviour); rules we accept if we belong to a particular institution (religion, organization); laws imposed on people by a government Penalties for breaking the rules are different. For not following the customs there may not be a punishment, or a person may be criticized by the society; rules of a social institution tend to carry precise penalties but they are not enforceable by any political authority; however
