True story of Old Thomas
Old Thomas is a weathercock on the top of the City Hall. Weathercock what
represent old-time soldiers, was placed on the top of the City hall tower in year 1530. It
was a shape of a old man with a hat, who holds a javelin in his hand. According the
legend, model of the weathercock was poor peasant, who had his glory when he hit the
parrot on the competition. Because of his low birth status he didn't have prize, so they
awarded him the honor of to be town guarder.
