Strindbergs

THE CAPITALIST NIGER Chika Onyeani ………………………Every African must internalise this book - period….DAA INTRODUCTION In October 1960, Nigeria received its independence from Britain. By then, Ghana the former Gold Coast had been independent for three years under the great Osagyefo Kwame Nkumah. It was a time for celebrating Africa’s coming of age, as more and more African countries received their independence either from Britain or France. It was especially a poignant time for Africa, as then British Prime Minister Harold McMillan articulated his now famous “winds of change” sweeping Africa. We had high hopes for Africa, for the Black race, that the insidious imposition of foreign rule on us, the looting of Africa’s natural resources by our colonial masters accorded us would be things of history. That is more than forty years ago. Unfortunately, the promise of independence has not been fulfilled. Today, Africa has become more desolate; there is more starvation

The dual has disappeared in GMC in the inflection of nouns. cf. Arabic: malikun `king' malikani 'two kings' malikuna `three or more kings' The English number system constitutes a two-term contrast: SINGULAR (`one') and PLURAL (`more than one'). Each noun phrase is either singular or plural, and its number is determined by its head. Distinguishes three main number classes of nouns (property of nouns). a) singular invariable nouns (noncount nouns, abstract adjective heads): music, Thomas, the mystical; no plural unless reclassification takes place b) plural invariable nouns (unmarked plural nouns, summation plurals, personal adjective heads, pluralia tantum words): people, scissors, jeans, the rich, damages, dregs; only in the plural c) variable nouns: dog, foot, analysis; these have both singular and plural forms We can talk about three broad categories of the plural: regular, irregular, and foreign, the last two of which have subdivisions. Minu ema lemmik eesti film ,,Kevade'' on valminud Oskar Lutsu samanimelise jutustuse alusel, mille tegevus toimub möödunud sajandi lõpuaastate Eesti külas. See on lugu ühe kihelkonnakooli laste eluolust õppeaasta kestel sügisest kevadeni. My mother's favorite Estonian film, Spring '' has been produced on the basis with the same name stor
a British colony, it would be the American Enlightenment. Broadly, the Enlightenment was an intellectual movement that changed the fundamental perspective of the masses, urging them to foster skepticism and apply scientific principles in matters of religion and morality. Its chief values were: Liberty, Democracy, Republicanism, Religious Tolerance. The movement gained momentum with the publication of landmark texts like Thomas Paine's The Age of Reason, and the Jefferson Bible, but the most influential thinker was undoubtedly John Locke, whose ideas spread to the colonies and across Europe. Main Ideas of the American Enlightenment: The Enlightenment caused a shift in the cultural and social attitudes of the people, bringing in some new and radical ideas. Republicanism: The doctrine of republicanism asserts a system of a government that is elected by the people of the nation
roots of the radical separation of self and object. Together these three laid the foundations for modern education, foundations now enshrined in myths we have come to accept without question. Let me suggest six. First, there is the myth that ignorance is a solvable problem. Ignorance is not a solvable problem, but rather an inescapable part of the human condition. The advance of knowledge always carries with it the advance of some form of ignorance. In 1930, after Thomas Midgely Jr. discovered CFCs, what had previously been a piece of trivial ignorance became a critical, life-threatening gap in the human understanding of the biosphere. No one thought to ask "what does this substance do to what?" until the early 1970s, and by 1990 CFCs had created a general thinning of the ozone layer worldwide. With the discovery of CFCs knowledge increased; but like the circumference of an expanding circle, ignorance grew as well.

MARY: That's very kind of her. How is she? TOM: She's very well, but she's rather anxious about young Tommy. MARY: What's the matter with him? Nothing serious, I hope. TOM: I don't think so

1) INDIAN ROCK ART: A NATIONAL TREASURE IN DANGER Unrecognized, unprotected, this priceless legacy of primitive art has endured the ravages of nature only to fall victim to wanton destruction by ,,civilized" man. Like the huge stone statues of Easter Island and prehistoric cave paintings of Altamira and Lascaux, North American Indian rock art is surrounded by an atmosphere of mystery. Although examples of rock art exist at some 15000 sites in canyons, deserts, caves and river gorges. Nowadays, however, primitive rock art in the United States has become a new field of scientific study. Klaus F Wellmann wrote two books about rock art. He is a professor of medicine. Rock art represents the history of aboriginal Americans. In the most cases the art is an expression of ideas and way of life, ritual ceremonies, hunting, fighting. The pictures of people and animals are often strikingly lifelike and artistic. Many of these ancient relics have been destroyed by the ravages of nature and of man

Film review „ Titanic” One of the best films that I have seen recently is called „Titanic”, a disaster and romantic film directed and written by James Cameron, music by James Horner. The important characters are Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack dawson and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater. „Titanic“ is a very moving and gripping film. In the film we see that a ship called „Titanic” sails out. The people are very happy to board the ship. They consider it as an unsinkable ship.In the first half of the movie Rose and Jack fall in love. They are trying to be together although it is not allowed because Rose is from the good family and Jack is just a poor boy. Rose’s husband was very angry and wanted to kill Jack. But in the other half of the movie, something different happens. The ship hits an iceberg. Husband complicated the escaping from the ship. Ship sank. Jack and Rose were in icecold water, Rose survived, because she found a whistle a
