I read a book called “The Dinner” by Herman Koch. Herman Koch is a Dutch writer and actor. He has written short stories, novels, and columns. His best-selling novel The Dinner which was published in 2009 has been translated into 21 languages. And also, the book has been adapted into two movies. Plot + characters The story takes place in Amsterdam at one fancy restaurant. Two couples meet there for dinner. The men are brothers but unfortunatelly they don't get along very well. The brothers with their wives have gathered together to discuss their teenage sons. Their sons have commited a horrible crime which has been caught on video camera. From the video the boys can't be identified. So the parents have to decide what to do next. The story is guided by one of the brothers called Paul. Paul is a former high school history teacher. The story takes place in New York, where two people, Jonathan and Sara, are looking for love. They meet at a store, where they are both looking for a pair of black gloves. Unfortunatelly, there is only 1 pair left and they both claim them. Politely both of them ask the other one to have them and so they go to a small coffee shop called Serendipity to decide who gets the gloves over a cup of coffee. Jonathan and Sara discover they have quite a bit incommon and fall in love. Sara insists they don't exchange phone numbers or even names at first. She decides that as a fortunate accident, or in other words serendipity, brought them together in the first place, they should
Eventough, Meena hasn't seen Anita since she broke her leg, she still cares to the extent that she'd follow Tracey, thinking that Anita's dad was killing her. But Meena soon finds out that it's actually Sam and he's making love with Anita. Tracey tries to attack Sam in order to defend her older sister. Anita, however, gets mad at her and chases after her.
