The role of the Secretary in business

ESSAY The role of the Secretary in business Secretarys are usually women so most of the people generally think that Secretary's job is to make coffee, wear miniskirt and just be beautiful. Of course that is the most common wrong belief. Secretary is actually really important in the company. But what are Secretary's main tasks and why is she so important in business? I think that Secretary is very important person in the company. All clients and guests meet the secretary first so she is the first contact of the company and its reputations depends on how great is the customer service. She is like a business card of the company. Secretary greets clients and if needed, forwards clients to the right place.

Marriage is/is not an outdated institution

This takes all their time. They have to concentrate on their work 24/7. Thats why marriage has been left in the backround and the priority is building up a career. Secondly, (this time of century) nowadays couples are just living together instead of marriage, because it is easier that way. For example my two cousins and two neases (loovad) famlily, but not single one of them is married. It is almost like try-out, to see if living together will work out or not. Also if something goes wrong, then it takes less time and money to brake up. In my point of view the choice to live together without marriage may also be one of the reasons why people are so easygoing and give up so easlily. Thirdly, to get married in a church you need to be blessed, but there are less and less people who are blessed in this time of century. For example I am one of those people who is not blessed. This leaves only one more option and that is ordinary official ceremony registration.

Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria

The Black Hand had several assassins positioned along the route. On the way to the Town Hall, the first assassination attempt occurred. A man named Nedeljko Cabrinovic threw a bomb into the car with the Archduke. However, the bombed bounced off the car and landed under the next car in the motorcade. The car with the Archduke was able to speed away and make it safely to the Town Hall. The assassins did not give up, however. On the return trip, the motorcade took a wrong turn. When the driver began to back up, another assassin named Gavrilo Princip happened to be right next to the car. He took advantage of this opportunity and began firing at the Archduke. He fired twice, hitting the Archduke once and his wife Sophie. The crowd jumped on Princip and he was arrested by the police. At the same time the car sped to the Governor's residence to get medical help. Unfortunately, Sofie was dead before they arrived and the Archduke died a few minutes later.

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

overnight, but it would not happen by not making an effort either. “When the whole world is silent, even once voice becomes powerful.” These strong words said by 16-year-old education activist Malala Yousafzai have had a big impact on people that have doubted themselves about for example starting a fundraising event or listing up as a volunteer to help people that cannot get proper education. People are often afraid of the consequences, if their attempt at enforcing change goes wrong. They are scared that they will be laughed at or talked about. There are millions of people behind us too shy to take a stand or maybe they do not have the resources so people in developed countries should speak up for them. Documentary film “Waste land” is about a project in Jardim Gramacho, one of the largest landfills in the world, to raise awareness about catadores. Pickers, who sift through detritus looking for recyclables to redeem for cash, took part in an art project

Books are not absolutely dead things

You put your thoughts on the paper and just publish it. But publishing may sometimes make a lot of trouble. Books have caused big conflicts. From the past, we know a lot of cases, in which the books have been burnt and the writers been killed. That shows clearly, that books are not absolutely dead things. But I think that, no one should be killed or punished because of expressing their thoughts. If people criticise and say negative arguments about something, then it is clear, that something is wrong and must be changed. But we know that many of us do not endure criticism and therefore punish them, who actually want good. Definitely, one of the positive argument is, that reading of any book does not make us dumber. All books give you some kind of information and knowledge. They teach you, they may give you advice, they are like teachers and instructors. I believe that books have saved people's lives. For example, if you are desperate and thinking of ending your life, you can get

Frankenstein book summary

After hearing that, Victor went back to Switzerland, the monster killed Victors brother. Victor was certain that the killer was the monster. He was devastated and went to the mountains to calm down. There he met the creature. The monster told Victor what he had done in the meanwhile. He confessed killing Victor’s brother. The monster also demanded that Victor created a female monster so that he could be with her. At first Victor agreed, but later he realised it was wrong and he stopped. The monster threatened that something bad would happen on Victor’s wedding day, if he did not complete the work. Victor was going to marry Elizabeth but on their wedding night the creature killed her in excuse that if he can`t have a partner, then his creator can`t. Tolerance and Diversity

"Tolerance" is a noun with profound meaning. It has been built on an individual opinion, on the influence of friends and how the society affects people. Human nature is one-sided, because they believe in exact stereotypes of people and try to follow them. Many characteristics are also immediately being added to the person's characteristics according to its origin. It is better if you never evaluate anything by its appearance in order not to come to the wrong conclusion. People are very easily affected. Media and television are the main influencers. People today just watch television, read newspapers, magazines and take almost everything they say very seriously. Sometimes it seems that people's brains have been paralyzed by the media. They are not able to think themselves, which leads them to stereotypes created by mass media. Today young people are more tolerant than the elder ones. They don't have stereotypes of people built in their mind

Chat rooms

The first and most important thing you need to realize about the Internet is that you can find anything and anyone on the Internet that you can find in the real world. The only difference is that in the Internet you have a greater deal of anonymity that you get in the real world. Can chat rooms be dangerous? Most definitely. Particularly channels that clearly are catering to younger children. Pedophiles go where the kids are, and that is just as true on the Internet as in the "real world". Does that mean you should avoid all chat channels? Not at all. Just be aware of what you are doing and saying, and if you have small children, be sure to monitor their activity on the Internet. There are several programs, as I recall, that allow parents to track what their children are seeing and doing while on-line. One of the biggest threats on chat rooms is the presence of pedophiles, online stalkers and other predators always looking to exploit...

Arvustus "The Queen"

"The people´s princess" 31 August 1997. I guess that almost everyone knows how dramatic that date was. England lost the princess who should become the Queen- but all went wrong. The film took place in United Kingdom and it talked about the Royal Family. At the beginning of the film Tony Blair was appointed as the United Kingdom´s prime minister. Blair visited Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen Elizabeth. Three months later princess Diana, the Queen Elizabeth´s daughter, had a car accident in Paris- she died. Blair gave the speech in which Diana was described as "the people´s princess". All the people in England were in shock and in tears

more than anyone else in England. People said Mr. Treves ought to write his memoirs. Mr. TREVES knew better. He knew that he knew too much. He's opinion was always respected. The group who sat around the fireplace talked about the murder what had happened in the Old Bailey in the morning. They talked themselves out, little by little and then their eyes turned to mr. Treves. Then mr. Treves said a few wise words. He likes a good detective story, but they all start with the wrong place. They start with the murder. But murder is and should be at the end of the story. It should begin at long before, perhaps even years before that. the whole story should culminate to towards zero. The story continues in the 11th January. Angus MacWhirter wanted to commit suicide but he found himself from the hospital. He was a very angry because he was not allowed to die. When the man had calmed down then he told his sad fate to nurse. He lost his job because he didn't lie for his boss

The Canterbury tales by Geoffrey Chaucer

wanted to be modern. That way Chaucer made fun of the pardoners and the Church, because in my opinion he thought that they were corrupted and dishonest and only up for their own good. In the general prologue, where Chaucer described almost all of the characters, he satirized the values of that era. He found the fact that people were divided into social classes depending on the size of their fortune wrong. He pointed out that simple people who worked hard and earney their money themselves were much more honourable than people who lied to get it. He made fun on chivalry and Church and he had an innovative viewpoint on things.

Lessons for the future

The results of elections are much different if young people vote for politicians whose name is just popular or who gave them a dull coffee mug with his or her party's logo on it. In Estonia, young people often go with the flow of Reformierakond for example, because it seems to be ,,pretty normal" organisation. I am sure that if youngsters would find out for what one or another party stands for, they will discover that they voted for absolutely wrong party, for example a 18-year-old boy gave a vote to right-sided faction although his thoughts are the same with socialdemocratic principles. As it is come out in different studies, the level of Estonia's education is pretty good. Our children learn different languages, maths, history etc. at school which of course is very natural and welcome. But besides scramming just hard cold facts about chemistry or relativity

In 1983, Jobs lured John Sculley away from PepsiCola to serve as Apple's CEO, asking, "Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?,, The Apple board of directors instructed Sculley to "contain" Jobs and limit his ability to launch expensive forays into untested products. Sculley learned that Jobs--believing Sculley to be "bad for Apple" and the wrong person to lead the company--had been attempting to organize a boardroom coup, and on May 24, 1985, he called a board meeting to resolve the matter. Apple's board of directors sided with Sculley and removed Jobs from his managerial duties as head of the Macintosh division. Jobs resigned from Apple five months later and founded NeXT Inc. the same year. In a speech Jobs gave at Stanford University in 2005, he said

The Cement Garden Character Sketch

Tom had to pretend to be in infancy to cope with loss of his mother. Although he was still a boy who sometimes peed in his bed, playing a baby helped him to forget responsibilities and problems, and find again motherly love in Julie. Tom soon forgot his real mother as something that was natural but he can not be blamed for that because it seems like he had not had any other choice. Tom was a neutral character for me who was part of a bigger puzzle. He did not do anything wrong, just the series of things he was supposed to do as a family member. And I kind of feel sorry for him that he had to suffer as a child and by suffering I mean from perspective of adult. He had to have both parents to grow up with and happy childhood but was deprived of this.

My Magna Carta.

The wors thing I did, was that I kept the most of things inside me. I didn't say anyone what was happening to me. The most important thing is to tell maybe your best friend, or mom, or teacher what's going on and I'm sure they can help. But also it has one consequence what would probably last for their entire life: because of the bullying in the past, they might have low self-esteem. That makes them think about everything they do. They're insecure and they think that something is wrong with the way they act or look all the time. People need to stop bulling to make the world a better place. The second thing I would do is lessen homework. Teachers give us homework in 5 days of the week. If we want to suceed then we have no choice to do homework. But sometimes we get too much of it. We don't have the strenght or skills to do them. What does it cause? It causes us a lot of stress and anxiety. It effects us in many ways. For example students might be unable to sleep

Exposing the Human Condition in Antigone

In line 562, 563, and 564 she says: "I did not intend to pay, before the gods,/for breaking these laws/because of my fear of one man and his principles." Antigone accuses Kreon of overstepping the laws of the gods, by relying on his own thinking. As is brought out later, Kreon never listened to other peoples advice until it was too late. In the above passage Antigone heroically faces up to the most powerful man, the King, knowing he could kill her in an instance, but still she tells him he is wrong. Being strongly tied to a family, where you would risk death is one thing, but as in any family a person usually takes their anger and frustrations out on individual family members, as in this passage on page 24, lines 100-103: "Then weakness will be your plea./I am different. I love my brother/and I'm going to bury him, now." Antigone, non-heroically, accuses Ismene of not loving her brother, but of course Ismene loved her brother, Ismene was just afraid of the king

Crime & Punishment

Regardless of what is coming into us from external sources, we choose what we want and what seems most appealing. People balance the risks and costs involved in doing a certain act. Upon seeing which benefit outweighs the most, we decide to act. Well, on the other hand we might decide not to act. It depends on the person. Once again it all boils down to evil vs. good in the world. The evil will always be around tempting us all to do the wrong thing, but if we seek after the good and noble things, we can overcome the evil forces that seek to rob us of our freedom and dignity. But when thinking of proper punishment, I, for one, think that we are too lenient. At least in our country. There have been excerpts in the media of how the government wants to reform prisoners and help them getting on their feet after leaving prison. I do not think it would be possible

Agreeing & disagreeing

6.3 Dismissing an argument as irrelevant or improbable. I bet you can get traditional Spanish wines and beers! That isn't the point. I'm talking about soft drinks. That's highly debatable. Some of the exhibits you see from contemporary artists are no more than tins of baked beans and piles of bricks. That's highly unlikely. Everybody understands that films and plays contain drama and that the purpose of the news is to report on what's wrong. 6.4 Disagreeing diplomatically (through doubt) The elderly are often confused by modern telephones and automatic switchboards. I wonder whether that's the case. Isn't it rather that they enjoy getting out and about instead of sitting next to a telephone? What I'm saying is that older people have been there before. They've had the problems and found the solutions. I'm not sure that it works like that. You see today's young live in a

When a world loses a language it loses a unique treasure

When a world loses a language, it loses a unique treasure There are more than 7000 languages in the world and it is said that more than 50 % of the languages will be extinct by the end of the century. A language dies in every 2 weeks. So what will be lost when a language dies? Much of human knowledge hasn't been written down and it lives in people's memories. In fact, there are even laguages that haven't been written down. In the olden days people use to tell stories. They didn't write them down, just told or sang them to others, who passed them on the same way and so they spread from generation to generation. Now if a language dies, the folklore dies with it. So we will also lose our ancestors knowledge, in what they believed in, what they valued. We will lose the myths and legends, how the world or a certain place was made. In fairytales people learn about virtues, how to make a difference between right and...

Character sketch - Shel, Orlando by Virginia Woolf

Orlando thought that she was dying when she heard Shel approach on his horse. Shel went to help her and basically "swept her off her feet". Moments later they got engaged. After knowing each other for two minutes, Shel and Orlando knew everything important about one another. Shel had a castle in the Hebrides, but it was ruined. He was not that rich and spent his time mostly at the sea. Before meeting Orlando he had been on his way to join his brig, but the wind blew from the wrong direction and he could not continue his journey. He was passionate about his job because he did a little model on the ground of the Cape Horn when Orlando asked about it and told stories that had happened during his travels. At the same time, Shel was afraid of the wind change because it meant he had to choose between the woman he loved and his duty as a seaman. When Orlando said that she loved Shel, they discovered something at the same time. He

My name is Henry Tilney. I am actually not sure what to tell you about myself, because I am just an ordinary man and I think of myself as a rather boring person. I definitely do not want to sound self-centered, but I must say that I am always rather gentle and caring. I pay attention to others' feelings and never want to hurt anybody. I often display a humorous arrogance and ironic humour towards women. I especially like to do that to Catherine because she is just so naïve. Do not get me wrong, I love and respect women very much, but sometimes I just cannot hold back a good joke. I usually say the opposite of what I mean, in order to seem funny. Isn't that rather clever? I have to admit that I am a perceptive person because I understand people quite well. I have read many books and I work as a clergyman, I think that this explains why am I good at understanding people. Also, I am definitely not a shy person. ' When asked, Jeanette admits that she loves Melanie, but Melanie isn't as strong as her lover and she promises to the pastor that she will give up the sin and beg the Lord to forgive her. Melanie is a docile person and a weak soul who refuses to follow her true desires. She is afraid to venture outside the role society has placed upon her. Melanie left to stay with her relatives in Halifax and when Jeanette went to visit her Melanie told her that it was wrong to see each other again. After that incident, Melanie was dead for Jeanette who was angry because Melanie was so weak. Melanie had gone away before starting university and the girls didn't meet until some time later. Melanie had put on some weight and looked serene. She chatted about her course, friends and her holiday plans like nothing romantic had ever happened between the two. One year later they met again. You have set up enough tension that you are reasonably convinced that they will indeed seriously consider the deal and are likely to come back. Given some more time, it is likely that they will buy more (for example if they are at the edge of a budgetary period and their current funds are low). The relationship is important to you, and them making a wrong decision now would affect the chances of making sales in the future. You do not need to make the sale today (for example you have made your quota and this sale would be just fine for next month). Combine this with setting up the next meeting, when perhaps you will be able to solidly close the deal. Examples This is an important decision for you and I think you need time to consider how important it is. Shall we discuss the details further next time I see you?

Katherine Mansfield

which she puts on Laura`s head and comments endlessly how it makes her beautiful. This brings along an internal conflict in Laura`s mind, either to grief, or to be vain and self- centered. Towards the end Laura is sent to the grieving family to fetch a big basket. At the sight of the dead man she then realizes how unbefitting her hat is and recognizes a change in herself. During that moment she discovers the complexity of life, where are no profoundly right or wrong social conceptions. She matures significantly, albeit everything she learned might not be a lesson of such a kind, which would serve as life-changing, rather short-lived knowledge, if not developed further. In conclusion, it can be said that Laura`s mother influenced her inner growth immensely. Above all Laura wanted to establish her true self and to be wise enough in order to manage in the world of adults. In the end it is apparent that she has matured a great deal and gained

Bullying

Now, to talk about why people bully someone there are many aspects. Some bullies do it to get attention or to make other people afraid of them. Others might be jealous of the person they are bullying. It makes bully feel, stronger, smarter, or better than the person he or she is bullying. Some people think that it's one of the best ways to keep others from bullying himself. What is even worse, some bullies may not even understand how wrong their behaviour is and how it makes the person being bullied feel. Some young people are bullied for no particular reason, but sometimes it's because they are different in some way. It could be the colour of their skin, their financial condition, the clothes they wear or even their name. Some people think bullying is just part of growing up and a way for young people to learn to stick up for themselves. But bullying can make young people feel lonely, unhappy and frightened

Deer 1, 2, 3, 4, Elves, Santa: Oh, Rudolph, you saved our Christmas tonight Deer 1, 2, 3, 4: We've been so mean and we weren't right. Elves: But you are the best. Yes, you are the hero. Character sketch - Tom Bunchanan, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

In New York Tom goes out in public with Myrtle and doesn't care if he is seen with another woman. He likes to dominate those around him and keep Myrtle in her place. For example, when Myrle was drunk and started chanting daisy's name Tom broke her nose. Tom, as a husband, isn't a good man as well. He is not violent with Daisy but he doesn't show undying love either. Tom spends a lot of time with his mistress leaving Daisy on her own. He doesn't think he is doing anything wrong while cheating his wife but when he finds out that Daisy and Gatsby are having an affair, he becomes outraged. It shows that he doesn't see her wife as equal and Daisy has no right to cheat on him like he does. Around Gatsby Tom acts suspicious and after finding out about the affair he wants a confrontation. Tom sets his plan in motion when he, Daisy, Nick, Gatsby and Jordan go to New York. He lets Gatsby and Daisy ride together in his car while he drives Gatby's car

And as you slide through the door With your morals on your sleeve I think it's time for all those morals to leave So let's get down and freaky baby Let's get restless baby, come on get crazy with me. And I said When you're loving me, I'm loving you And I love the prowess in the things that you do And it's your flawless soul that bleeds my stone When you're loving me, I'm loving you And that's when we've got it goin' on. So many people think we've got it wrong They all try to break us but we won't play along So let's get down and dirty baby Let's get restless baby, come on get crazy with me. And I said When you're loving me, I'm loving you I love the prowess in the things that you do And it's your flawless soul that bleeds my stone When you're loving me, I'm loving you And that's when we've got it goin' on, oh goin' on. I was so stranded I was lost and abandoned I needed another home You fly in my arms, you just fly right into my arms.

Referaat : Iirimaa

The country has been "invaded" by some grasses, such as Spartina anglica which you can see on the picture. Gorse (Ulex europaeus) is commonly found growing in the uplands, and ferns( sõnajalg) are plentiful in the more moist (niiske) regions, especially in the western parts of Ireland. Transport There are 3 main ways to travel around in Ireland : by plane , by railway or by road . Motorists must drive on the left in Ireland and due to that tourists driving in the wrong side of the road cause many serious accidents every year. The first monorail(üherõõpaline raudtee) was constructed in Ireland. Nowadays the fastest express trains work on same monorail basics. Language In Ireland there are 2 official languages in , Irish Gaelic and English There are parts of Ireland where Irish is spoken as a traditional, native language but there are also parts where you can basically only hear English.

Decriminalizing Cannabis in Estonia

which is controlled and pure. For many seriously ill people, medical marijuana is the only medicine that relieves their pain and suffering, without debilitating side effects. But the good news for Estonian patients is that within last year there have come out many new cannabis- based medicines for European market and some of them are available in the online stores to order. Decriminalizing cannabis possession and use is not about what is right and wrong but it is a question about people’s health. If as a country and a society we care about the wellbeing of fellow citizens and society as a whole then we decriminalize the plant that has minimal documented harm, especially when compared to legal drugs: alcohol and nicotine, and has beneficial effects on users who use it to alleviate different illness symptoms. Furthermore punishing people for possession ruins their lives, drains resources and stops objective
