Essay: my ideal job

Literature improves their vocabulary and changes their picture of the world and maybe teach tolerance. I’d give enough time to read every book carefully. I wouldn’t just make a test with fact-questions, I would discuss about the books with them. We would talk about the problems and the main ideas of the book. Later, they would have to write an essay about the book. Writing an essay improves their writing skills. Maybe I’d let them work in groups, then they can discuss about book together. Also, every person must know the rules of orthography and write correctly. So it is very important for students to learn their mother languaege. If I would be teacher, I’d gave them printed materials with rules for every subject. Also, they should keep their materials in the folder, it is easier when all things are in the same place. I would also make dictations and tests for every subject

Leiutaja Alexander Graham Bell

He had two brothers: Melville James Bell (18451870) and Edward Charles Bell (1848 1867). Both of his brothers died of tuberculosis. His father was Professor Alexander Melville Bell, and his mother was Eliza Grace (née Symonds). Alexander Graham Bell was an eminent scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone. Many other inventions marked Bell's later life, including groundbreaking work in optical telecommunications, hydrofoils and aeronautics. In 1888, Alexander Graham Bell became one of the founding members of the National Geographic Society. He began teaching at a deaf school in Boston, and lodged with Thomas Saunders, and met Gardiner Hubbard, whose daughter, Mabel, had been deaf since the age of five. Quite unable to speak, she became the pupil of Bell, and after two years of painstakingly hard work, he taught her to talk

How to be successful

How to be successful To be successful is a every man's or a women's dream. To make that dream happen you will have to have some very important qualities, ambition determination, self-motivation and ruthlessness. The mentioned qualities are all what my brother has. He has succeeded in life as in his career. Career wise he has made very many important and really good decisions, he worked hard in school and in college, he had determination to work really hard and get a college degree in the field he likes. The 10 years he has been in the work market, he has worked for many companies. Looking for the perfect and best job. At the moment he is working in RMK, where he has worked for 6 years and he is currently happy with the job. So in conclusion to be successful life in generally is to study hard and have the determination and belief in yourself to success.

Praising Children

In 1969 Nathaniel Branden said that high self-esteem is the main foundation for parenting and has dominated since. It is incredibly important for us all to have a feeling of self-worth and acceptance, but as- children are been praised too much. Are we given the skills to work at a goal instead of expecting to complete it easily because we are told we are "smart"? Are we set up for failure by being told how smart we are, when in all actuality maybe we are right where we should be: in the middle? I have a feeling that the way we praise and are been praised is going to change; not that teachers and parents are going to be overly critical of their children and students, but that the way they encourage their kids will be more equal to others

Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens was born in 1812 in Portsmouth. His father was a clerk who earned relatively little money. In 1822 his family moved to London and Charles's education was interrupted by need to take poorly-paid work in factory because his father got into debt and imprisoned. In 1823 he became solicitor's clerk and a year later a newspaper reporter. His first short story was published in 1825 anonymously without payment and later he began writing under pen name `Boz' and described conditions of poverty in England. Ten years later he married Catherine Hogarth with whom he had 10 children. In 1842 he visited USA where he was treated as a celebrity because he was very well-known there

English is the only foreign language worth learning

English is the only foreign language worth learning Every people should speak some foreign language. Knowing different languages is important, we can communicate with other people around the world. But is English the only foreign language worth learning? English is one of the most important languages in the world. It helps us to communicate with other people. If you know English then you have a better chance to get the work you want. You have a better chance to work and make a career. When you go to traveling, then English is the best language to speak. You can speak English almost everywhere you go. People should learn some other languages too. In some countries people don’t speak English, they have their own mother language, so they don’t speak other languages inluded English. For example if you live in Estonia you should know well Russian. I think that in Estonia, Russian is more important than English.

The role of the Secretary in business

She is like a business card of the company. Secretary greets clients and if needed, forwards clients to the right place. I think Secretary job gives a lot of variety of different tasks. Secretary has to communicate with all different clients, do paperwork, see if the company runs efficiently, to assist and advise the director in his everyday job. One of the reasons why I wanted to bocome a Secretary is that I like organising and I think I'm good at it, also I like documentation and paper work. I'd rather work as a Secretary than in some pub as a barmaid, because it is definitely more peaceful and steady job than in some pub serving drunk people. Secretary's main tasks are answering phone calls, receiveing and sending e-mails and documents, meeting different clients, finding out their needs and trying to solve everyday business problems; also arranging meetings and receptions. She has a responsibility of making sure that the organisation runs efficiently

Should smoking be banned?

Since, he will be unable to smoke in public places, he will learn how to live without smoking a cigarette for long hours. Moreover, when a smoker does not see anybody around him smoking or smelling of cigarette, it might reduce his urge to smoke too. Accordingly, one of its major advantages is that it forces people to quit smoking. Looking from the economic point of view, since smoking is a major contributing factor to many diseases, it leads to absenteeism from work. Moreover, employees smoke tend to take breaks now and then to smoke, as a result lowering the number of hours they put in their work. Consequently, if employers want to increase work productivity and want to make sure that their employees remain healthy, they should ban and stop smoking in and around office premises. All things considered, I am there somewhere in between. I don't smoke and I don't care if others do. It only bothers me when I am at a bus stop and a man is smoking next to me

Advantages and disadvantages of being your own boss

Advantages and disadvantages of being your own boss Definitely everyone has thought about being their own boss at least once in a life time. Most people would think that being your own boss means upsides than downsides. No matter how attractive it might see at first, self-employment has its difficulties. The most important advantage of being self- employed is that it allows you to make your own schedule. For instance, it enables you to work when you want rather than when you have to. Moreover, some people are convinced that being your own boss means that entire results of your work, overtime, sweat, pain, investment comes directly proportional back to you. One argument againts being your own boss is that an employer have a lot of responsibilities. For example, you have to control the activity of the enterprise, to take decisions for the best of your business, to have a good communication

The good and bad points of working and going to school.

The good and bad points of working and going to school at the same time Everyone has the right to the higher education, but for some people it`s more difficult than to the others. To leave your parents` home for the first time brings a lot of unexpected outgoings. Students have a issues with the payment of rent and utility bills and they need to go to the work and attend college at the same time. Working and going to school at the same time has good and bad points. The good points of it are certainly the new and intrestings experiences. Students get used to the pressure and studying to handle the stress. The bad points of it are that some people can`t handle the pressure. Students have no time to study and forgot that the first priority have to be studying.

The National Lottery

Britain. All of us have fantasized about winning the big prize in The National Lottery. We dream about what we would do with the money, but we rarely stop to think about what the money would do to us. For most of us , our way of life is closely linked to our econmic circumstances. The Different parts of our life fit together like a jigsaw, this is where we belong and where we feel at home. A sudden windfall would smash the jigsaw. Most people like the idea of not having to work, but winners have found that without work there's no purpose to their day, and no reason to get up in the morning. It's tempting to move to a bigger house in a wealthy neighbourhood but, in so doing, u leave old friends and routines behind. There are many stories about people who can't learn how to be rich. Val Johnson won 850 000 on the pools. Immedietly she went on a spending spree that lasted for 4 years and 5 marriages. She's now penniless and alone.

Estonian climate in winter-time.

Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do. I think, that when students skip school because of the bad weather, teachers should put homework and the work that should have been done in classes, on ekool, but not as concise as it would be if stundents have been at school. Then, students can study subjects on their own and if they can't understand something, they may send an e-mail to teachers or ask help from fellow students.

ESTONIAN SYMPHONIC MUSIC. THE FIRST CENTURY 1896-1996.

This great number serves as motivation to confine myself to orchestral works. Moreover, this number may be somewhat larger if we take into account that I have no exact information about the activities of all Estonian composers living outside Estonia. From this uneven and variegated whole I had to choose works worthy of attention. Thus I have had to treat the symphonists in the same manner. I apologise if a colleague does not find his name mentioned. The volume for this extensive work is limited. As the manifold activity of several elder composers still has deep significance today, I have, for the sake of completeness, discussed their other spheres of operation. Symphonic music is divided into two large subsections: instrumental and choral (oratorio and cantata) works. The latter has been severely cut from this work; some examples from momentous stage and oratorical works constitute an exception. The

Wealth does not bring happiness essay

Wealth does not bring happiness People work for money, play lottery for money and some of us even commit crimes to get money. It sometimes seems that wealth is the main values in life but it does not actually bring happiness. No matter how wealthy you are, you still can not buy love or friends. Even worse, people that seem to care about you may only be intrested in your money. Furthermore, some people work for their lives to get wealthy but unfortunately, they forget about the most important- their families. Wealth can change people the way they in point of fact never wanted to change. On the other hand, being wealthy prevents financial problems and this means less worrying. You can buy things you really need plus you can support the underprivileged and the less fortunate. Wealth in fact can be for the benefit of being happier. I also have heared

She knows what she wants and what she is capable of and works for her goals until she has accomplished them. The amount of her friends clearly shows that she is a person you can trust and always count on. During these years that I have known her she has shown that completing assignments on her own or in team is not a problem. Her ability to communicate with different people and self-discipline help her through any situation she may face.

I was hoping that you could help me answer some of my questions. I have a lot of experience in construction work and also as a salesman, I have worked in several other jobs as well. I will send you my complementary CV later. First I would ask you what type of jobs do you have available in California? It doesn't have to be a construction or a salesman job, it could be something else too. About accommodation, how is it arranged, how much does it cost and how far away is it from the job location? I also wanted to ask you if the plane tickets are included and if they are not how much will they cost me

Technology - for or against

Has the Growth of Technology Improved People's Lives? It is known that technology was created to be useful for people. Nowadays there are different opinions whether technology has made our life better or it is the worst achievement of the human being. On the one hand, technology makes our life easier and it saves our time. Just imagine, if machinery had not been invented, we would spend whole days on doing our house work. Moreover, as we live in the information society, collecting data is essential for us. It is also more comfortable to search for information without having to leaf through an encyclopedia and using a contemporary computer instead.. On the other hand, up-to-date technology may replace human's labour. We entrust technology a lot of duties, so that it can have harmful consequences. If technology progresses, there will be no need for human's work

Money Makes The World Go Round

It can get you food, a house, a car, a bike, sometimes even love. When you go outside, then you often see homeless persons looking for bottles. You also see very rich people who seem to have everything but yet they want more. They all ask themselves the same question - how to get more money? I think money has become so valuable because prospects are slowly running out and because of that gas value goes up, food value goes up and everything else too. So if you do not work hard you will end up looking for bottles too. To sum up, people have to work harder and be more enterprising to eat, live and have more fun.

Pros and Cons of Technology

Pros and Cons of Technology Humans are developing technology every day. What are the benefits and risks that technology can cause to humanity? There are a lot of different fields of technology. It is hard to find a profession where people do not use technology. Thanks to technology, we can make much more work during the day, for example a car, we can get from one town to another much faster with driving than walking. Althought it is good and comfortable for humans, it is not good for the air we breathe because of the exhaust fumes. This is the example to my belief that every technology have pros and cons at the same time. Year by year people are getting used to get their work done by or with technology, that is why i think we may get lazy and do not value what we have to do to get something done

Halva naabrusega tulenevad probleemid ja lahendused

Another way to keep your neighbourhood tidy is to start from yourself. Keep your things in order, your dog on a leash . By doing this and suggesting others to do it aswell would keep the neighbourhood nice and clean. It would help if you could maintain peace and quiet. Don't run your machinery in the early mornings . In this way you will sustain a healthy relationship between you and your neighbourhood. To maintain a nice and tidy neighbourhood takes a lot of work and courage. People should be generous and considerate of others. It would benefit for all but mainly for the whole neighbourhood.

English Parliament and Elections

supposed to be ordinary people just representing people. This way the MPs were not even paid until the 20th century. This way only rich people were able to afford being a member of the Parliament. Even now they don't get paid very much one MP has to share an office and a secretary with two other MPs. Most MPs are full-time politicians. But the old tradition where the MPs have other jobs reflects from the working hours of today. The Parliament doesn't sit in the morning. Work time is "gentlemen's hours" and they start their work later. They have a lot of holidays too. But it isn't as easy as it seems. Actually an MPs spends more time than an average person at work, the debates may continue into the night and this way it is one of the longest sitting Parliament in Europe. MP's mornings are takes up with committee work, research and preapearing their speeches. In the weekends they are supposed to be visiting the places they represent

Backpaking lifestyle

countercultural protests of the 1960s (Binkley, 2004). The ideal of ‘alternative lifestyle’ was then extolled as a break from the past and the constraints of its collective structures. As lifestyle was imbued in this period with a ‘controlled hedonism’ (ibid) focused on styling life 3 around playful leisure consumption rather than work, it comes as no surprise that the cognate field of leisure has sustained interest in the concept of lifestyle (see Stebbins, 1997; Veal, 2001; Wheaton, 2004). Past attempts at tightly defining lifestyle, however, often divorce the concept from its politicised history and instead concentrate solely on patterns of tangible behaviour (Stebbins, 1997). For instance, Sobel (1981, p. 3) defines lifestyle as ‘any distinctive, and therefore recognisable, mode of living’

Swifts A Modest Proposal

economic situation of the country was extremely prejudiced by another crop failure. Thousands of poverty-stricken Irish were dying of starvation, causing the country's population to fall. However, despite the famine and constantly increasing number of deaths, the government did not implement measures to improve the existing situation. Thence, Swift, being an Irishman by birth and feeling disappointed of the ruling classes, proposes a solution to the problem by publishing his shocking work, the bitterest satire A Modest proposal for Preventing the Children of Poor People in Ireland from Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Public (1729). In A Modest Proposal Swift finds out a solution to stop the famine. The author cites infants' breeding as an example for improving the economical conditions, finding the proposal "a fair, cheap and easy method of making these children sound and useful members of the common-wealth" (52)
