Required on all homes, various stations, hypermarkets solar panels to use the potential energy, the stock of which is not completed within 5 billion years. * Renewable sources such as wind and solar are intrinsically unsuited to meeting the demand for continuous, reliable supply on a large scale – which comprises most demand in developed countries. The criteria for any acceptable energy supply will continue to be cost, safety, and security of supply, as well as environmental considerations. 2. Finally, the Cadle Primary School in Swansea has been used as a case study to investigate the potential change in attitudes in children after the school placed the UNCRC at the heart of its ethos and curriculum across all areas of the school. The primary goal is to critically analyse the commitment of the Cadle towards children`s participation within school and explore the possible spaces created for children that allow them to actively engage with meaningful discussions on the matters that concern them. 3 Introduction Children have `somewhat tenuous relationship to citizenship` as a number of authors interested in children`s citizenship have noted.1 Historically, they have not been considered as

Letter of complaint

Dear Sir, I am writing to you to complain about the china figure I ordered from you three weeks ago. I must regretly announce, that your advertisement was wrong in many ways. Firstly, the figure which I ordered was told to be delivered within ten days. But I received it after three weeks and due to that, I could not hand it to my friend in time. Furthermore, there was a crack on one side of the figure; so as a consequence, it also did not look the same anymore because of it. And the gold plaque, where you engraved my message was completely wrong. That is why I could not gift it to my friend after all. As you can imagine already, I am quite disappointed about your company. I also feel that I have certain rights to receive a refund in addition to an apology from your company manager. I look forward to recieiving a quick reply. Yours faithfully, Rainar Kaegas

culminating in the Great Plague. That was the last major outbreak in Europe, possibly thanks to the Great Fire of London in 1666. The fire broke out in the original City and quickly swept through London's wooden buildings, destroying large amounts of the city. Rebuilding took over ten years. Following London's growth in the 18th century, it became the worlds largest city from about 1831 to 1925. This growth was aided from 1836 by London's first railways, which put countryside towns within easy reach of the city. Rising traffic problems on roads led to the creation of the world's first subway system the London Underground. Because of this rapid growth, London became one of the first cities in human history to reach a population of one million and was the first ever to surpass five million. In the decades following WWII large- scale immigration from Commonwealth countries and beyond have transformed London into one of the most racially and culturally diverse cities in Europe.

Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson, regarded as one of America's greatest poets, is also well known for her unusual life of self imposed social seclusion. Living a life of simplicity and seclusion, she yet wrote poetry of great power; questioning the nature of immortality and death, with at times an almost mantric quality. Her different lifestyle created an aura; often romanticised, and frequently a source of interest and speculation. But ultimately Emily Dickinson is remembered for her unique poetry. Within short, compact phrases she expressed far- reaching ideas; amidst paradox and uncertainty her poetry has an undeniable capacity to move and provoke. Liis

Schools kill creativity

with many creative ways to make the situation better. So now I have to agree with Ken again, we don’t grow into creativity, we grow out of it. Also only hope for better future is to adopt a new conception of human ecology. We should re-think the ways we are living now, most important the ways we are teaching kids to handle the future. Because like Jonas Salk quoted: „If all the insects were to dissapear from the earth, within 50 years all life on Earth would end. If all human beings disappeared from the Earth, within 50 years all forms of life would flourish.“ Ken Robinson made this speech in 2006. Right now it’s 2015. In nine years the world has been developed a bit, but not enough to make a future a better place for our kids. Like Ken sayd: „We may not see the future, but they will.“

The Cataclysmic Death of Stars

Swift, launched in 2004, scans the skies for gamma rays. When it detects a burst, it swivels its telescopes toward the source to get a good fix and detect the afterglow--the lingering point of light that marks the spot where a burst originated. It also sends an alert to earthbound astronomers, who can take a closer look with bigger telescopes. Early on February 18, 2006, Swift recorded an outpouring of gamma rays from somewhere toward the constellation Aries. Within three minutes, the satellite had determined the position of the burst and broadcast an alert. Two days later, astronomers at a telescope in Arizona reported that the burst came from a small, nearby galaxy, only a fraction as far away as usual. Astronomers had already traced a connection between bursts and supernovas. But this burst was so close, and Swift had spotted it so quickly, that scientists hoped it would help confirm what

Design and Function A compressed air brake system is divided into a supply system and a control system. The supply system compresses, stores and supplies high-pressure air to the control system as well as to additional air operated auxiliary truck systems (gearbox shift control, clutch pedal air assistance servo, etc.). How airbags work The design is conceptually simple; a central "Airbag control unit"[14] (ACU) (a specific type of ECU) monitors a number of related sensors within the vehicle, including accelerometers, impact sensors, side (door) pressure sensors[15], wheel speed sensors, gyroscopes, brake pressure sensors, and seat occupancy sensors. When the requisite 'threshold' has been reached or exceeded, the airbag control unit will trigger the ignition of a gas generator propellant to rapidly inflate a nylon fabric bag. As the vehicle occupant collides with and squeezes the bag, the gas escapes in a controlled manner through small vent holes

history and political stature of different systems. It is common to broadly categorize the functions of a criminal justice system into policing, adjudication (i.e.: courts), and corrections, although other categorization schemes exist. Comparativists study the four different types of societies, their methods of enforcement and their different types of punishment such as capital punishment, and imprisonment. Within these societies they study different types of legal tradition and analyze the issues they solve and create. They use their information in order to learn effective ways of enforcing laws, and to identify and solve problems that may arise within a system due to its methods.

Myers, Kitsuse 2000 Constracting the Future in Planning

incorporated into long-range plans. Also absent from planners’ approach to the future is a systemic understanding of how multiple trends will extend forward and interact with one another, shaping new possibilities and patterns of behavior in the process. This unidimensional approach is most evident in planners’ treatment of population growth, which tends to be conceived as simply today’s population grown bigger. At the same time, the planning profession’s effort to become more relevant within the local political scene has strengthened planners’ emphasis on shortrange planning driven by two-year budget cycles and the short-term horizons of the electoral process. This deficiency is unfortunate because academics have the potential to offer practitioners the solid theoretical background that might inform richer, better developed statements about the future. The relative absence of academic attention to the future may stem from several causes.

to the invention of mobile phones. During the 1940s, Motorola came up with the Walkie-Talkie followed by handheld two-way radios that operated on battery power. In 1947, Douglas Ring and W. Rae Young at Bell Labs introduced the idea of hexagonal cells for mobile phones. Ericsson came up with an automatic mobile phone system, which was released in Sweden in 1956. The drawback of this system was that the phones weighed 40 kg´s. Till 1970, mobile phones had to remain within their cell area and there were no means to continue communication while switching between cell areas. The call handoff system that allows users to move through different cell areas came up only in 1970. Mobile phones are nowadays almost in every people hands. They are irreplaceable communication device. Thanks for your attention.

Drug abuse

Some drugs appear to be more likely to lead to uncontrolled use than others. Bans Most governments have designed legislation to criminalise certain types of drug use. These drugs are often called "illegal drugs" but generally what is illegal is their unlicensed production, distribution, and possession. These drugs are also called "controlled substances". Even for simple possession, legal punishment can be quite severe. Laws vary across countries, and even within them, and have fluctuated widely throughout history. Despite drug legislation large, organized criminal drug cartels operate world-wide. Advocates of decriminalization argue that drug prohibition makes drug dealing a lucrative business, leading to much of the associated criminal activity.

environmental challenges. The combination of 300,000 tons of dust from the burning of oil shale by power plants in the northeast part of the country and airborne pollutants from industrial centers in Poland and Germany poses a significant hazard to Estonia's air quality. Estonia's water resources have been affected by agricultural and industrial pollutants, including petroleum products, which have also contaminated the nation's soil. Some rivers and lakes within the country have been found to contain toxic sediments in excess of 10 times the accepted level for safety. The nation's land pollution problems are aggravated by the 15 million tons of pollutants that are added yearly to the existing 250 million tons of pollutants. In 1994, 24,000 acres of the country's total land area were affected. Radiation levels from the nuclear accident at Chernobyl exceed currently accepted safety levels.

The Coca-Cola bottle, called the "contour bottle" within the company, was created by bottle designer Earl.R.Dean. In 1915, the Coca-Cola Company launched a competition among its bottle suppliers to create a new bottle for their beverage that would distinguish it from other beverage bottles, "a bottle which a person could recognize even if they felt it in the dark, and so shaped that, even if broken, a person could tell at a glance what it was." At first, Dean's

For and against capital punishment

For and against capital punishment Capital punishment as death penalty is the killing of a person by judical process for retribution and incapacitation. And it has advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage of capital punishment is that it permanently removes the worst criminals from society and should prove much safer for the rest of us. It is self- evident that dead criminals cannot commit any further crimes, either within prison or after escaping or being released from it. Another advantage of capital punishment is that country can have minor costs in prison. In other words, the country may very well better spend our (limited) resources on the old, the young and the sick etc., rather than on the long term imprisonment of murderers, rapists, etc. However, there are a number of incontrovertible arguments against the death penalty

Clownfish

Finding Nemo, the Pixar movie introduced millions of people around the world the clownfish. Twenty-nine species of clownfish live among the reefs from East Africa to French Polynesia and from Japan to eastern Australia. Among scientists and aquarists, clownfish are also known as anemone fish because they can't survive without a host anemone, whose stinging tentacles protect them and their developing eggs from intruders. It's still a mystery exactly how a clownfish avoids being stung by the anemone. Of the roughly thousand species of anemones, only ten host clownfish. What's good for the clownfish is good for the anemone, and vice versa. Clownfish spend their entire lives with their host anemone, rarely straying more than a few yards from it. They lay their eggs about twice a month on the nearest hard surface concealed by the fleshy base of the anemone, and they aggressively protect the developing embryos. If the young fish doesn't find ...

Does water consumption matter?

Does water consumption matter? 2 MINUTIT. I'm going to talk about water consumption and about the importance of the water. I've chosen this topic because water is our most important resource and I'm also very worried about how little there is left of it. At the moment a bottle of water costs less than an euro, but within the next 10 years the very same bottle may cost 5 to 10 euros, if we don't conserve and protect our fresh water supply. The thing is, we have enough sea water, but it's the freshwater we lack of. Water covers over 70% of the Earth, but just 3% of it is fresh and less than 1% is the water that is available and we can drink. The amount of freshwater is rapidly decreasing. The water we have now is all we will ever have, we cannot produce anymore. Moving on to the importance of water

A review of bowel and bladder control development

UROLOGIC AND GASTROINTESTINAL PROBLEMS Urologic and gastrointestinal problems in children are of great concern to parents. In most cases, such problems represent no organic disease or serious behavior disorder but nevertheless can cause more serious complications in toilet training than parents recognize. CLINICAL TRIALS Clinical experience, however, suggests that in most children these problems can be managed successfully within the realm of general pediatric practice. BOWEL AND BLADDER INCONTINENCE IN CHILDREN Almost all children have wetting and/or soiling accidents at one time or another. An estimated 15% to 20% of children will become partially toilet trained but continue to have wetting accidents after age 5. ENCOPRESIS Children with encopresis (chronic fecal soiling at age 4 and older) typically soil during the day and

A book worth reading

author and much more. Unlike any other teenage-cliche movie it has a tragic, tearful ending, that makes a reader realize and value the existance of her or his own loved ones in life. What author John Green has managed to achieve is the realistic description of heroic cancer figthers with all the ups and downs of a teenage person. The book is full of witty humor, heartbreaking happenings, making a reader laugh, cry and smile again within only 313 pages. I thoroughly recommend this book!

The Godfather

The movie was not only popular for its artwork, but also for its close relation to real life. There were many nuances at a primal level that most of us could relate to. Not only do we see glimpses of personal life but we also see how the Corleone mafia worked as an organization. The workings of the mafia closely endorse some of the age-old motivation theories. The Godfather is the story of a Mafia family. It follows the rise of Michael Corleone within the family. Michael was once a war hero and did not want to be involved in the family business. When his father is shot though, Michael takes revenge on the people who did it and becomes a part of the Mafia lifestyle. When his older brother is murdered, Michael ascends to become the boss of the family, and proves to be more ruthless than his father and brother combined. The scene that I am analyzing is one where Michael is becoming his nephew's godfather at his baptism.

The future seems dark. - 2012

Recently sceptics have used comments from modern day Mayans themselves that 2012 is a hoax, and that no Mayan calendar points to the end of the world on December 21, 2012. This is somewhat misleading. While Mayans do not believe the world will end on 2012, many do believe that there will be a massive event, which will change the way we experience reality. What that actually is, however, is anyone's guess. There are many Christians who believe the coming of Christ will happen within their lifetime. This idea shouldn't be discounted immediately, but it does not necessarily mean the Jesus we understand in Western culture will come sailing down from the sky. If we consider that Jesus was a manifestation of God, it's possible that Christ may return embodied in another form. It's possible that all the differing theories about 2012 may all be about the same event, and have just been interpreted in different ways. For this reason, it's important we don't commit

Letter of Complaint

Dear Sir, I am writing to complain about the Beautiful China Figure I ordered from your company. I believe your advertisement was misleading in a number of ways. Firstly, it was said to be delivered within ten days but when I received the package, three weeks had already passed. Also, my friend's birthday had passed, it was supposed to be a gift for him. I had to buy a new gift for him and now I do not have anything to do with this figure. Secondly, the figure was cracked and it did not look like the one on the advertisement. The engraved message I chose was also wrong and misspelled. The plaque surface where the
